Good Morning Ladies,
I hope today finds you well, we had a windy end to September , I think the rain is on its way though. Looking out of our bedroom window I can see that Autumn is well under way, the trees are starting to change colour, all of them different making for such a lovely view, I am waiting for a good sunny spell to capture a photo that shows them in all of their Autumnal glory.
Today's card I had great fun making yesterday, I did make rather a mess though (whats new I hear you saying) 🤣😂 I took Fired Brick, Fossilised Amber, Spiced Marmalade, peeled paint, Vintage Photo and a touch of Walnut Stain Distress inks and made narrow stripes of the across my media mat, I spritzed them with water and dragged my card through the ink, then dried and tapped lightly onto some of the little dots of ink still on my mat, drying between layers helps to build the colours. To finish the background I spritzed water into my metallic gold paint and used a fan brush to add splatters to the inked card.
I used some different leaves and autumnal themed dies to cut the background.
I then used a new die I have called Sizzix Snail Mail to cut a piece of Kraft card. I added a tiny hint of ink to some of the edges of the rectangles and then arranged my autumn foliage into the spaces. For the centre I added the Thank you, embossed in Gold. I layered this piece onto a gold shimmer card and then onto a linen card base.
I hope that you all have a good day,
Love & hugs
Sandra xxx
Your card is lovely Sandra That background die reminds me of the shadow box dies from SueW which I must revisit!
ReplyDeleteAt least it’s dry today! Just finishing breakfast and will then be going to John Lewis for Knit and Natter
Take care everyone xx
Hi everyone
ReplyDeleteHoping this posting today. I wrote a comment yesterday but it didn't go through so I left it and this morning it had gone out into the sky somewhere. I koved your card tho, the colours together were beautiful and the strip of vellum was nice. Today's card is gorgeous and like Karen say it's like the shadowbox dies by Sue W. Funny enough I never bought one of them.
It's pouring down here and have done so since early last night. We were meant to go to sister in law today but her husbans have covid so instead we went into town, It's a big arcade so good when it's raining. Did some window shopping and had a coffee out. It was nice but glad being back home and in from the cold.
Karen, hope you have fun at K& N. Wonder if our Janet still going to hers. Love to see what you are making Karen.
I started to sort my dies out yesterday and wishing now I hadn't because I got very flusterd about it all, not sure what to keep or not.....Think I have a cup of tea first and see what happening :)
Hope you have a nice day ladies, hello to the lady looking in yesterday( hope to see you again)!
Thinking of you Brenda, hoping you are home from the hospital ?
Take care everyone. Hugs to you all, Maria xxx
Hi Sandra and all looking in. I love today’s card. The colours and effects all work so well together. Your new die is great and works so well with the little leaves. Can see it being great for Christmas too. I might have to borrow it to have a go. Your house is in such a beautiful position and you get to see the seasons so well don’t you. I always enjoy looking at the hills from your kitchen and a walk around the garden and veg plot to see what’s on show each time. Have the squirrels brought any more conkers into the garden? I hope to see you this week my lovely. I will message you tomorrow xx
ReplyDeleteBrenda, sending gentle hugs xx
I hope you all had a better day than me as I had a blooming migraine.
Take care. Love Sue xx
