A different version of the Sketch

Good Friday Morning Ladies,

Phew, thank goodness it's almost the weekend, it's been one of those weeks !! We have had something on virtually every day, it has made the week fly by though.
The highlight of the week is split between Sonia coming over and Matt telling us that he got the new job he just phoned South West Water out of the blue for, after chatting to a chap doing a repair on a drain in his road.  Its a good £5,000 more a year and goes up again when he passes his HGV (which they organise and pay for).  He is excited but Matt being Matt he is very anxious about putting his notice in, he hates "letting people down"  (his words), we explained that he isn't letting anyone down,  his current manager has him writing his emails as he says Matt words them more professionally,  although Matt has to sign them from his manager so gets no recognition,  he has inspired a lot of changes too, particularly in Health & Safety,  pointing out problems and finding solutions, but again his isn't rewarded with any recognition,  his manager takes these ideas as his own,  the latest frustration is that Matt has trained to new lads and they both really enjoy working with matt as he has given them confidence etc, but his manager got a pay rise for being a team leader,  again matt got nothing!   So we told him he has nothing to feel guilty about, he does atleast 6, but mostly 8 hours extra a week overtime that he isn't paid for, the thing that made him look for a new job was that he is driving 6, 7 & 8 hours on top of having to work once he gets to site.  He's been to Norfolk,  Crewe, Blackpool,  & Isle of white in one week,  starting from Gloucester every day, the long hours sat driving are causing his arthritis to flare up, particularly in his back, he has always been active which has kept his arthritis manageable.
So we are excited for this new change for him.

Today's card is a Tracy Evans Stamps version of this weeks sketch.  I know it isn't exact bit its my 'interpretation ' of the sketch, I want you all to understand that too, you don't have to stick to it exactly.  I used Shaded Lilac, Wilted violet and Villainous Potion Oxides for the background,  using emboss resist with Tracy Evans Clematis stamp.

I hope that you all have a fantastic Friday,

Love and hugs to all of you

Sandra

  1. Hi everyone
I love your card 😍 That flower is beautiful and I love the colour.
Congratulations to Matt on getting the new job 😊 He has nothing to feel guilty about leaving his current job, to not get the recognition for all he has done and his manager taking all of the credit is disgraceful!
Hope you all have a good day
Sending hugs to you all xxx

I totally agree with Sonia Matt should not feel guilty I know it’s that loyalty thing But he’s got to remember that he is just a tiny cog in a big um? wheel is the saying?
I have had a rotten cough (on top of the persistent one I already have) and just got back from GP and now on a course of antibiotics
    Take care everyone xx

  5. Hi Sandra and all looking in. Two beautiful cards yesterday and today. That floral paper you used yesterday is gorgeous and I love how you left it to “do the talking”. Paul’s mum will love it.
Please give Matt my congratulations on his new job. I know how he worries about others but this job is so much better 🤞Glad you have got your new wheel chair. We will have to give it a test run in my car one day soon xx
