Good Morning Ladies,
What a wonderful send our late Queen had yesterday, we were transfixed all day, every part of the day was perfect. I have to say how incredible those young Coffin Bearers were, such a huge undertaking in front of the world's media. Same has to be said for Prince George & Princess Charlotte, how hard that must have been for them. I had a few tears, seeing the young Prince & Princess got to me, watching the cortege take the Queen past Buckingham Palace for the final time, I thought back to hearing about her sneaking out into the crowd on VE day, also when they were driving through Windsor, seeing the Queen's pony and her darling Corgi's ❤️. Then watching her coffin being lowered taking her down to her love while her personal piper played, I was a total wreck by then.
What were your favourite moments?
Today's card I made after watching the funeral yesterday. I stamped a magazine freebie stamp (which I will show on Saturday) onto 2 shades of blue card using Versamark ink, I added Silver embossing powder and heat set. I die cut the stamped images with a square die and matted each piece onto the opposite colour blue card, I mounted these onto a 6 1/2 X 6 1/2 square card base. I used a smaller square for the sentiment, which I matted and layered and added foam pads before placing in the centre of the card. I finished the card with 4 tiny white gems placed into the centre of each square.
I hope you all have a good day,
Love and hugs to all of you,
Sandra xxx
Hi everyone
ReplyDeleteI love your card today, the shades of blue with the silver embossing are beautiful 😊
In between packing the car and getting ready, we watched the start of the funeral, leaving just as the service was starting. We honoured the two minute silence in the car - thankfully the radio station we were listening to was also reporting on the events. When we stopped at the services for lunch, they were showing it there on the tv, so was able to watch a bit of it. Seeing all of the reports on social media, and your comments on the chat, it sounds like our late Queen had a wonderful, but very emotional send off. I did shed a tear when I read that the Corgis and her horse had been brought out, such a lovely thing to do 🥹
We had a good journey here, unsurprisingly the roads were quiet. The sun came out as we arrived which made for a nice evening. It’s misty here this morning but quite mild. No plans for today other than relaxing!
Hope you’re all well. Have a good day everyone
Sending hugs to you all xxx
Morning Everyone
ReplyDeleteJust reporting in. We are back safe and sound.
Two long days of driving so the rest of the week will be taken slowly.
Love today's card SANDRA. Just one of my colours too.
Now starts the job of unpacking the car and putting things away. A job I really don't like.
We managed to watch replays of yesterday last evening.
Both of us with tears. Our Queen was the only Monarch both of us have known properly Jim was 11 and I was 7 when the old King died and of course no TV in either of our homes then.
It is definitely the end of an era.
The CAFE will be open before the end of the week.
HUGS to you all. Please take care and stay safe.xxxx
Beautiful card SANDRA I’m glad you’re home safe and sound Janet and you too Sonia - enjoy the wedding
ReplyDeleteThe first bit that got me was the naval ratings removing their headgear and bowing their heads - all done with immaculate timing. It all got emotional for me after that - too many things to list on here
Back to work today after what was a very strange/weird week off
Take care everyone xx
