Good Wednesday Morning Ladies,
I hope today finds you well, gentle hugs on their way to anyine feeling under the weather 😊 🫂
We awoke to a thunder storm at around 6am, it was so peaceful sitting out with a cuppa when nobody else was up. The storm soon cleared and we went for a walk around the Camp site, on the way back we stopped to get a few bits from shop, we had forgotten kitchen roll and hand soap, of course we picked up a couple of cakes while we were there, for elevenses!! We are just having a 'take it easy ' day today, we are going to go to the beach this afternoon.
Today's card was made using another Embossing Technique, this time I used a SU 3D embossing Folder to emboss a piece of black card, to make the Embossing even more prominent I added Bundled Sage Distress Oxide into the background, now I used Gilding Wax and the back of Ranger Rub it Scrub it pad or back of Cut & Dry foam (because its a really firm surface), I dabbed it in a little wax, wiped off the excess on my glass mat and swiped lightly over all of the raised areas, the firm pad just hits the very top of thd raised embossing, the results are stunning. Now the tutorial I watched used a Tim Holtz Distress Crayon (Metallic) to add the gold colour.
This technique would be great using a Snowflake embossing folder and adding silver to the snowflakes ❄ too.
I hope you like the effects of this technique, I was surprised at how effective it was.
I hope that you all have a fantastic day
Love and hugs to all of you,
Sandra xxxxxx
This is a stunning technique Adding the DO in the background really adds impact Something else I need to try
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your relaxing day - make sure Paul doesn’t get the laptop out 😀! Try not to worry There’s nothing you can do re anything else xx
Hi Sandra and all in the Cafe today. A lovely card today. The gilding wax looks fabulous against the black card, it stands out so well in that pretty embossing folder. I love your idea of using snowflakes with silver, I might have to try that if that’s ok.
ReplyDeleteJust want to say a big thank you for continuing to blog each day even though you are on holiday. I know it was a promise you made to yourself but it is really appreciated my lovely. You give a lot of people a lot of pleasure every day, and not just here on your blog page either xxxx
Lilian, I hope you and R can stay safe with all of the tourists spreading Covid! And I also hope your back is a little better today Xx
Mum is coming home on Friday and won’t have to go back in so the antibiotics have done their job.
Sending love and hugs to you all with extras for all in need. Take care xx
Hi everyone
ReplyDeleteFabulous card, love the effect with the gilding wax, it’s stunning 😊
Turned out hot here this afternoon after a cool start this morning. I think the weather is meant to be quite good for the bank holiday weekend.
Sue, happy to hear your mum is coming home on Friday 😊xx
Sending hugs to you all xxx
Hi, very hot here today, have had to come in from the garden, as it was too hot.
ReplyDeleteStunning card today, very striking the gold on black, I don’t usually use black for my base card, but your card looks very classy.
Tried to get the results from my recent blood test, unfortunately the receptionist couldn’t find them, tried to tell me it wasn’t there so must be ok. I’m seeing the nurse practitioner next week so maybe she will know more.
Hope you all have this lovely weather, Lilian
Hi ladies
ReplyDeleteLove the embossed background. Glad to hear your Mums coming home Sue. You all must be pleased. Hope Paul didn’t take his laptop with him as you’d said he’d been told not to work and enjoy his holiday. Enjoy your holiday.
Take care & stay safe everyone.
Hello Sandra and ladies,
ReplyDeleteWOW what a stunning card today, I love how you have used your magic and turned a piece of humble black card into a very classy expensive looking card, it’s just beautiful.
I hope you have had a lovely relaxing day and made it to the beach this afternoon.
Do you cook your evening meal or go to a restaurant?
Had a busy day, went shopping this morning, it was lunchtime by the time we returned. After lunch I made a few phone calls then had a nap, which seems to be getting quite regular these days.
Hope your day has been good, take care and stay safe. xxx
Hi ladies
ReplyDeleteStunning card today Sandra. Very nice the gilding on the black card.
You and Paul have a good holiday. Nothing you can do about things happening at home. Thinking of them all in Danielle's family.
It's been nice to see SIL and her husband but it was also hard for wasn't too good all day so will have an early night. I hope you had a good day, have a good night all.
Hugs Maria xx
