Mixed Up Saturday

Good Saturday Morning Ladies,

I am sharing some more of my Pattern Built Background cards today, all of these three cards had their backgrounds created with stamps, I hope to give your more little bits of inspiration as the week goes on.
Not much planned for us this weekend, I have a few jobs that I would like to get done but I don't like to be a 'Nag', so I will try and politely encourage Paul to starting a job, or atleast help me to start...the Pantry is Number One on the priority list, closely followed by a trip to the Local Tip to get rid of some of the Christmas cardboard, I think that the tip is one of Paul's least favourite destination!!

Right lets have a look at what we have been sent in to share...…..

Karen

I am going to call this 'Karen's 'Labour of Love' card, as it took so long to complete.

I will leave Karen's description below:

"Here’s the card I finished late last night
It looked good in my head but...
I used SW Alphabet grid and it is such a pain to cut For instance it is only 5 squares wide So BIRTHDAY won’t fit and trying to realign it up is a nightmare So I ditched the grid I didn’t want to mess about cutting it in several colours So chose white and coloured the squares with DO only to realise some of the letters were a different shade of white! Plus I needed duplicates of some letters
The guy in question loves cake particularly chocolate The Die is another SW one I debossed the cake with a Crafts Too folder and covered the icing part with Nuvo Gloss white drops"

I have to say I love how the card turned out, the cake itself is a masterpiece with its textured cake layers and super glossy icing all topped off with a cherry. Your Colleague will absolutely love his card Karen, thank you so much for sharing it with us XXX

More inspiration

A different style of card

These cards look amazing!
It’s of ideas just using the free gifts.

That’s all for this week...
Happy Crafting.

Love Michele

Some brilliant ideas in this issue Michele,  it's great seeing inspiration for things other than cards using the magazine free gifts. Some lovely bright and cheerful inspiration too.
Thanks so much my lovely XXX

Michele's Shopping

Michele treated herself to these lovely new dies, the first were bought to finish the collection as Michele got two of this set for Christmas, I have to say I love the font of this die collection, there are so many occasions that can be easily covered with this Die collection, I look forward to seeing what you create Michele.  The Graduation dies will be great for making cards to increase your Card stash for when you do the Craft sales, people buy more 'Graduation' cards than ever these days as it seems like it is celebrated so much more these days.
Thank you for sharing Michele XXX

I hope that you ladies have a lovely weekend, lets hope the weather will brighten up a little!

Love and hugs to all,

Sandra

  1. Morning Ladies

Sandra-what gorgeous cards & great inspiration for us.

Karen-I love your card. I have this Die but I’ll have to admit I’ve not used it!

I decided to treat myself to the Dies-just need to make the effort to use them.
I need to drop hubby off at the Car Hire Centre as he’s away from tomorrow & will be traveling quite a bit and leaving the car at warehouses so he was encouraged to hire a car. Then I’m meeting my friend at Dobbies for a coffee & a catch up. We’re off to see my Father in Law this afternoon-hope there’s no-one waiting to speak to us when we get there!

  2. Very pretty cards SANDRA I looked into my craft space and looked away again
Thank you MICHELE for the review and I love your purchases The sentiments are good fun and I have had a few requests for graduation cards
The alphabet grid die is a great die but with my machine I need to shim it and I think I made the mistake of poking out all of the squares and then lining it up But actually you cannot realign the letters because to extend you sort of need to overlap column “A”with the likes of column “W” I even treated myself to the pegboard squares die that supposedly matches it Wish I’d bought the stitched/pierced squares instead for more options We love and learn
OH is at work later and I’m off to the cinema (do you remember when we used to say “pictures” not cinema) with a friend to see Little Women I’m looking forward to that
Have a great day ladies Take care xx

  3. Hi Sandra & ladies
Thank you all for my birthday wishes yesterday and my cards.
Karen I just love the card you made. A labour of love for sure. Lovely buys Michele and great magazine reviews as usual.
Everyone came down to mine for dinner yesterday. Well 10 of us anyway. Sophie was on her way to Amsterdam with her boyfriend. A surprise visit for his birthday.
Keith made a huge lasagne & Livvy made a hugs fish pie. Both were yummy. Plus garlic bread & onion rings. Livvy had also made a giant Apple Crumble. They also bought in 2 cheesecakes. Amy bought in 3 cakes as she hadn’t time to make me a birthday cake as she’d been at work all day. So I had candles put in those three cakes. They also did all the washing up between Jenny ( Craig’s partner ) & Karen. I’d already read the Hungry Caterpillar to her 4 girls. So Karen had found quite a big one and so bought it for my birthday, plus 2 new handbags. I’ll send Sandra a photograph to show you.
Gentle hugs to all who need one today.

Thank you Sandra great inspiration for next weeks challenge, love all of your cards.

KAREN Great card, I hope all your efforts will be appreciated, this is definitely not a quick and easy card, you certainly went that extra mile. Love it xx

MICHELE thank you for your magazine review. LOVE all of your shopping, especially the mortar board and scroll. I’m just looking at photo of eldest grandsons graduation photo, when he gave it to us he said Gramps will appreciate this - the scroll is a piece of white plastic drainpipe! (OH has always been Mr Fix it, for family and friends)

PAT lovely that you family all pulled together to make your birthday extra special. xx

Sleep well everyone, love Brenda xxx
