Good Saturday Morning Ladies,
I thought I would start the year with a look back at some of our 'Mixed Craft' posts that I have featured on our Saturday Posts, these particular photos are from January to June 2019, they feature crafts from Myself, Janet, Karen and Lynda.
The first two photos (above start the review of my Mixed Crafts) starting with a boxed set of cards.
I then went on to make....
These were made for a swap that I did with Kay. I love how they turned out.
This project I made for a Covered Notebook swap.
This Covered Notebook was a gift i made for Danielle.
Janet
This lovely Mixed Media canvas was the first of Janet's Mixed Crafts las year, (notice the blue)! Definitely Janet's colourof 2019!! 😉
I love how Janet decorated this beautiful cabinet, it would make a beautiful storage piece for any craft room, lets face it, we all need more storage, especially when it's as pretty as this .
Janet is definitely our Queen of Boxes and these are show why she holds that title! Absolutely stunning Janet.
Thank you for sharing some amazing crafts throughout 2019 Janet xxx
Karen
Karen knitted this amazing Cable Knit cardigan for Alan, I bet he loved it, I love cable knit anything, I made cable knit wide Hair Bands for my girls when they were little, they loved them.
Laurence the Tiger was another of Karen's cute Kerry Lord animals.
Sophie the Flamingo is just adorable, Kerry Lord has created some incredible designs.
This is Bradlee the Squirrel, look at that incredible tail !!
Knothead, was one of Karen's quirkier creations, they all have such lovely expressions though.
Thank you so much Karen for contributing so many projects to our Mixed Craft posts, I love seeing your creations and look forward to seeing many more this year. xxx
Lynda
Lynda made this lovely Pocket Letter for a Swap on our Facebook Group, I believe it was her first one, it was amazing, everything coordinates beautifully.
I hope to see photos of your new projects soon Lynda, I bet you are itching to get back in that craft room xxx

Thank you so much Michele for the First Magazine Review of 2020, this feature is definitely here to stay, we all love to see what's featured in different magazines, so thay we can decide whether the free gift and featured articles are something we would be interested in.
It's sad that magazines end up closing, but I guess there is so much choice, there are more die cutting magazines now
for definite, I was surprised how many new ones there were when Paul and I popped into Smith's the other day, then there are all the individual companies Quarterly Specials too, Chloe, John Next Door, now even Phill Martin has one too! So we are spoilt for choice. I have noticed with my Creative Stamping Magazine some of the features are VERY similar to this time last year, so I was thinking of changing to a different one.
Thanks again Michele xxx
Michele mentioned Meeting up in March at the NEC Birmingham, while the Craft Show is on, maybe booking a hotel so thst we can all sit and chat too, the Craft show is on the 19-22 March, if any of you are interested please let me know and we will get into looking around for good Hotel deals etc. I would love to meet up with as many of you as possible! xxx
I hope that you all have a lovely weekend Ladies,
Love and hugs to all of you,
Sandra

ReplyDeleteOh how lovely to look back at some wonderful craft projects from last year.
Thank you MICHELE for your usual fantastic review of crafting mags. A good start for the new year.
We're off shopping this morning and meeting up with Jim's Niece for our usual cup of coffee and a catch up.
The CAFE is OPEN and perhaps cream scones/fancies may be available this afternoon.
HUGS are on their way to you all.Have a good day; take care and stay safe xxxx
Morning Ladies
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic selection of photos from Sandra, Janet, Karen & Lynda. Your projects are all amazing.
Quick trip into Southport this morning as I have a shopping list plus a money off voucher for The Works then I might head into my craft room.
I’m definitely interested in going to the NEC and would love to meet up with anyone else that’s interested in going.
Michele
Morning ladies,
ReplyDeleteGood reviews of former items and magazines made a lovely read, thank you.
You would have to pick the one weekend to meet up when my son reaches 50! Surprise party planned long ago for that weekend.
Oh well, perhaps next time?
It's rather grey and overcast here this morning, yesterday started off with horrendous winds and very heavy rain. Don't know where that came from as it has been mild all week with higher temperatures. I didn't turn the gas fire on once til last night when family came round for our planned monthly meal which ended up with very competitive games of Jenga which we all thoroughly enjoyed. Lots of table pushing going on to try to upset the balance, all in good fun.
Love 7 hugs

Great to see some of our work on display from the year I’d almost forgotten about Knothead and Sophie as hopefully they’re in new loving homes now I need to get cracking and make more for Harefield
ReplyDeleteYou’re all amazing ladies with different talents
I would love to do NEC but I will be on standby to be looking after Oscar Birmingham is too far away that I can get back quickly if needed
Thank you again MICHELE and it is sad to see a magazine go out of print but the market is well and truly saturated I don’t buy magazines that often The ones I do buy are after reading your feature
I am now off to make a Sympathy card and a New Baby card - a neighbour died yesterday and a good friend became a granddad There’s a saying that encapsulates a death and a birth but can’t remember what it is
Take care all xx
Hi Sandra and all in the Cafe today. It’s great to see some of the wonderful “non card” goodies you have all made through 2019. It’s always so interesting to see what will be on the blog on a Saturday. It’s sad to hear of a craft magazine folding but as you said there are so many more now. WHSmiths always have such a great selection but there are one or two (can’t recall which ones though sorry) that only Hobbycraft sell, or at least that was at the beginning of last year. I must check and see if that is still the case.
ReplyDeleteI had a lovely day with Mum and Pop with a quick pop into Hobbycraft but didn’t see any bargains so left with a small papier-mâché dinosaur for Christmas jnr to do as I cannot find the one that I already have. Another reason to make myself sort my stash!
Have a good day ladies.
Sending love and hugs to you all with extras for Lynda and all in need. Take care xx
Hi Sandra & all in café,
ReplyDeleteSandra sorry not been in, my fingers would not do what I wanted. Thank you for displaying past talents. Have a good weekend.xxx
Michele thank you for magazine review.x
Lynda hope you are getting on OK sending hugs.xxx
Sending hugs to all love Margaret.xxx
Hello All
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful display of crafts today, love them all.
Michele great reviews of the magazines, they look good but I rarely buy them no a they area bit too pricey for me, especially as you can get very affordable craft supplies now.
Finished my curtains thank goodness, so hopefully will be able to get back to crafting. We are having our lounge, dining room and hallway painted. The chap we use is very busy, so he fits us in when he’s not working at the castle. Hate the upheaval but a needs must.
Hugs to all Lilian
Hello Sandra and ladies,
ReplyDeleteI’ve been out all day today with daughter and Ciara, we went to a shopping outlet near Ashford (Kent) I only bought two items, but Ciara had been given so much money at Christmas from her dads family she was in spend, spend mod, mum was saying before each purchase, “do you really need that”? - she had a great time, came home with lots of bags and wearing the biggest smile I’ve seen in a long time!
Lovely to see all the display of crafts and congratulations to MICHELE for another brilliant magazine review.
Sorry to be so late, I expect most of you are in bed already.
sleep well, Love Brenda xxx
Hi all. Well like Brenda said I guess you are in bed by now and I am going soon too but just wanted to say how much I like to see some of the older posts of lovely crafts that been made over 2019. I love them all and thank you Michele for the wonderful magazine reviews.
ReplyDeleteI hope you all had a good day. I wish Lynda a speedy recovery from the surgery and sending hugs.
Lilian, do take care. I hope it all will go smoothly and your home will look beautiful after the decorating.
Margaret- sending many hugs for you and Pop.
Janet- hope you had a nice day and catch up with niece. Do the children join you still or are they doing their own things ?. We can never get Son with us anywhere , not even if going to family. He stayed at home on his own even on Christmas Day. Hopefully if this girl he met goes well, she can get him out a bit and not just be on the computer and staying in unless he goes to work. Sorry babbling on. Best go to bed, it been some very late nights lately so I wish you all a good night. hugs, Maria xx
