A Stamped Christmas Easel Card

Good Morning Ladies,

How can there only be 13 more days until November???  There are 67 days until Christmas day, so yesterday I got all of my card boxes out (that have my made card in) so that I could have a count up of how many Christmas cards I have already made, thinking that there would be atleast 15 or so!!  But no, there were only 9, so guess what the theme of my cards will mostly be this week ?!

How are you all doing, have you made more than I have?,  not to worry we can organise the next few challenges around Christmas cards.

Today's card was made using my new HoneyDoo Holly Wreath stamp that I bought at the show in Bedford a couple of weeks ago.  Now I did make a huge 'oopsy', I had a particular look in mind, so stamped it out, embossed it and then sat and coloured it, which took a good 45 minutes, I then die cut it with a circle die!!!  I can't use dies this week as we are 'No Die' for the challenge, so I set that aside and started again, I stamped the wreath in grey ink so that the ink colour didn't stand out like black would have done, it's more subtle and the grey blended better with the green I used to colour with.  I then sat and coloured the whole think again using my Zig Clean Colour pens, the fine brush tip on those pens makes colouring effortless, I really enjoyed the colouring process, which is a bonus as it can be stressful.  although we ended having to put a bit of background music on as I was concentrating on colouring and Paul was concentrating so we were sitting in silence, which plays havoc with my tinnitus!                                                                                                                                                        Anyway back to the card, after colouring I cut a gold mirror card mat and then took a 6 x 6 inch card and scored the front flap across the centre, to form the 'Easel', I then stamped the holly on both corners of the front of the inside of the card and then stamped the sentiment and cut it out with my trimmer, I cut a mirror card mat to match the upper part of the card, I added foam pads to the back and used this as the stopper for the Easel.  I stamped two more holly corners and fussy cut them to decoupage the Holly in the corners.  To finish the card I stamped the sentiment that came with the wreath card and embossed with gold embossing powder, I love the font of this sentiment.  The final finishing touch was to add glossy accents to each of the berries, to give them a bit of dimension and make them look a little more berry like.  I have tried to capture this in the second photo.

I am pleased with how it looks although I think the circle die cut top might look better, maybe I will do that one for next week.

I hope that you all have a lovely day,

Love and hugs to all of you,

Sandra                                                                                                                                                          xxxxxx

Really beautiful Christmas card, love the traditional colours.

I had some Christmas cards made - but sent them to my sister when I was have a sort out the other week, I now have three in total so better look for some inspiration.
