Good Monday Morning Ladies,
I hope that you all enjoyed the weekend, we were treated to a perfect Autumn weekend, lovely warm sunshine all weekend a good breeze too, perfect for drying washing. We got a few garden jobs done, we popped to our little local garden centre yesterday to pick some bulbs for Spring, we are going to put them in pots this year, that way we can move them about .
Today I am sharing some backgrounds that Sonia created as part of our last challenge, I wanted to share the 'naked' backgrounds as we don't usually get to appreciate the base layers that make up gorgeous mixed media pieces, like everything in life a good foundation is essential! I will add Sonia's description below:
"The first one, I used a Memory Box stencil and texture paste. While the paste was still wet I put a load of gilding flakes on, once dry I buffed them flakes off - this was actually my second attempt as I didn’t put enough flakes on the first.
The second background is texture paste with cosmic shimmer mixed in, and then a little sprinkled on top while still wet. I’ve used an AALL and Create stencil."
Thank you Sonia for sharing your mixed media backgrounds with us, I am looking forward to seeing what these two turn into, I love the idea of added Gilding Flakes, the shine must be so eye catching, definitely on my 'to try' list. It's lovely to have some inspiration as I think a lot of the time with any mixed media piece we look at the white space and think "where do I start ", (well I do)!
Thanks again my lovely XXX
I am hoping to have a good few hours in the craft room today, after I have called the Doctors of course, Paul is working from home today so I will have someone to chat to while I create,
I hope that your week gets off to a great start,
Love & Hugs to all of you,
Sandra

I hope you get some results from the doctor Saying that you have finished the antibiotics now haven’t you? But at least you should be able to get the results We have to phone after 2pm to get test results and then you’re still “number 12” in the queue!
ReplyDeleteI love your backgrounds Sonia I’m going to try them both - what Cosmic Shimmer product did you use please?
I have a blood test this afternoon (that was an effort booking that!) and dancing tonight
Take care everyone xx
Hi everyone
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing my backgrounds. I love to just sit and play, and experimenting with my stash ☺️
Sorry Karen, I forgot to add that the cosmic shimmers are Iridescent Mica Powders - but you could try any powders or paints to add to the paste 😊
Fingers crossed you get some answers from the doctor, Sandra. It’s nice you have Paul home with you today too ☺️
Have a good day everyone whatever you’re doing
Sending hugs to you all xxx

Hello Sandra and ladies
ReplyDeleteSandra hope you managed to talk to your doctor 🤞fingers crossed all is well. xx
Sorry I haven’t been in. Friday went off to get my INR checked and was fine - by the time we returned home I just felt so rough head spinning, nauseous and dreadful tummy pains, Saturday and most of yesterday didn’t feel much better. Pleased to say I’m feeling better today. Don’t know what caused it. John was absolutely fine I’m pleased to say.
Anyway ladies love all of your cards yesterday. Thank you Sonia for sharing your beautiful background pieces today they are lovely.
Sending caring thoughts and wishes to everyone. xx
Lynda how are you and Terry? Thinking of you both. xx
Take care and stay safe, hugs Brenda xxx
Sorry to hear Brenda that you have felt so rough, wishing you better. Many hugs xx
