A real 'Throwback ' card, perfect for our Challenge

Good Morning Ladies,

This week is whizzing by for me, it was lovely to see the sunshine yesterday,  it looks as though it's staying for a few days too. 🌞

Janet I hope that Jim is not in too much discomfort,  are you on eye drop duties? It felt like I was administering eye drops for most of last year, with all of Paul's surgeries,  I became quite the expert, Paul hated it, one of them used to make him feel congested, I guess it drains out into your sinuses some how.  I found it almost impossible to do just one drop, he would often get a little shower for free!

Today's 'Throwback ' Challenge card is a Christmas card I made for Paul about 10 years ago!!  I remember that a neighbour had seen it when she had popped round to ask me to make her sons 1st Birthday card, she instantly asked if I would make one for her husband for Christmas.   I will add the description below......

I die cut a heart out do white card and built up layers and layers of the impression obsession little fern die cuts, I printed out my sentiment and mounted on another heart.
I Matted and layered an 8x 8 card with some white and the red card embossed with Holly swirls embossing folder, I cut a frame using to sizes of Spellbinders Grand squares and mounted that on to
My card base, I then stuck my fern adorned heart into the middle and used a Martha Stewart heart border die to cut some tiny hearts to act as baubles on my wreath, ( the hearts are the waste)
I used Sue Wilson's Classic Bow Dies both large and small to make the bow feature to hang my heart
Bauble from.

I remember that that card was a real 'labour of love' he's worth it though ❤

I didn’t go out yesterday,  it was going to be too uncomfortable, luckily Paul is on earlies this week so he was home early afternoon, having him home always makes things better.

I hope that you all have a good day today,

Love and hugs to all of you,

Sandra                                                                                  xxxxxx

  1. Morning Ladies

Sandra-stunning card. I’ll bet it took you absolutely ages to make.

Dull day here and quite breezy now but sunshine is forecast later. I have a day off so I’m hoping to spend some time in my craft room as I really need to finish the thank you cArd for the order I got. Then I can think about my challenge card.

  2. Morning Everyone
What a gorgeous card SANDRA. I know how fiddly these can be but Oh I agree that the end product is so so worth all the time.

I'm very lucky that I'm not on 'eye drop' duty SANDRA. Jim suffers with 'dry eyes' and has to have drops every day already so he is very good with the eye dropper. It's a good thing too as the drops would go everywhere as anything to do with eyes and mine flood. I always wonder how I get the correct prescription for my specs.lol. He isn't in any discomfort and the only problem is his current prescription. He is having his other eye done in around seven weeks time.

I need to sort my CC today and I have one or two other little jobs. This week has certainly been an up and down one.

The CAFE is OPEN for you all to pop in for a cuppa and a chat/look.
HUGS are on their way to you all.PLEASE TAKE CARE AND STAY SAFE.xxxx

  4. Hello Sandra and ladies,
Sandra what a labour of love this card is, it’s beautiful, I hope the neighbour who asked to make the same for her husband appreciated how much work you put into it. If you were selling a design like this it would be so hard to price because of the time spent making it - As I said a real labour of love, which is just what it is.

Janet pleased Jim is doing well and to read you are not on eye drop duty and Jim can happily administer to himself. Take care.xx

Michele enjoy your day off, it sounds as though you’re going to be very productive, but be sure to relax as well. xx

Karen enjoy ‘tea on the lawn’ with your neighbours, it sounds a lovely thing to do. This definitely wouldn’t happen in this area, we have quite pleasant neighbours but anything beyond the houses either side of us - these days we know very few people In the road.

It was lovely of the girls to ask you to go with them yesterday Sandra, I believe you made a wise choice you don’t want to cause any more pain to yourself being uncomfortable in a smaller car. And good that you had Paul coming home early afternoon, That was a bonus.

Hope everyone is having a good day, sending hugs to everyone who needs them.
Take care and stay safe, love Brenda XXX

  6. Hi everyone
A gorgeous card and made with love for your Paul.
I hope that the pain killers will take off the edge and make your day not too bad.
My back was bad this morning and I found it hard to get out of bed but after walking around a while it got easier and the painkillers did help some. We went in to town this morning, really struggled with the mask on but I will keep it on even after the 19th at least in the shops.
I hope you all had a nice day and your coffee with friends went well Karen. Janet, hope Jim had another good day. Started this comment around 11am but then phone call with parents and sister with the dogs, she's got 8 boys and 8 girls right now with 3 different dogs, they are so cute 🙂 also trying to put some cc together, hopefully will have some made by tomorrow. Many hugs to you all 🤗 xx
