Another pair of Challenge cards

Good Morning Ladies,

I hope today finds you all well and that those of you that are struggling to get food and supplies have found some kind of solution.

I wasn't feeling great yesterday and my creativity was taking a holiday so I decided to use the latest Creative Stamping Magazine freebie stamp set and follow a couple of their ideas.
For this particular cards I used the same 'Foliage' stamp on both cards to comply with the Challenge.
The first card used Distress inks blended together to create the background, I then masked a narrow strip along the bottom of the card off, I stamped the border, I used a lighter green to add some trees in the back ground of the card.  I added the sentiment, using versafine Onyx Black. The cute hedgehogs were stamped onto white card,  stamped in Archival Coffee ink, I fussy cut them three times and added two straight on the  card, one raised using foam pads.

The second card is a 5 x 7 card, I took a 5 inch square piece of card and blended Mowed Lawn, Squeezed Lemonade, Tattered Lace. After blending the Oxide Inks  across thr card and spritzed it with water to get it to 'Oxidize.
I dried it briefly and the cut it into strips, I used the foliage stamp to add detail to the bottom ofcthe strips and stars, stamped in Dried Marigold ink.
Next came arranging the strips, leaving space for a sentiment at the botton, I raised this layer up on foam pads. The finishing touches for this design was a handful of stamped and fussy cut butterflies.
All of the products used on these cards (stamps) were magazine freebies.

Take care sweet friends,

Love and hugs to all of you,

Sandra

  1. Morning Ladies

Sandra-Theo fabulous cards. I absolutely love the first one-I love anything with Hedgehogs on!!

Yesterday was extremely busy at work & I was very glad when it was time to leave. I have 4 day off & I’m looking forward to relaxing. I’m off to Tesco soon to-see what food shopping I can find. We have another very sunny day so I think we might do some gardening at some point. I also have quite a bit of washing so that’ll be going on the line outside.

    Two lovely cards SANDRA.

As I'm writing this I'm waiting for a butcher to deliver meat to us. He isn't one of our local ones but one from Rotherham who has set up a free delivery service to certain post codes. I have done my Tesco online for this week (I managed to prebook a delivery spot some weeks ago for this week and next)after that who knows. I'm not sure what will be delivered but I'm sure something will come.

The CAFE is ready and waiting for you all to pop in
HUGS are on their way to you all.PLEASE TAKE CARE AND STAY SAFExxxx

  3. Hi Sandra and ladies
Love your cards and the colours are so nice together, have to click on the frame tho as the picture is not up for me otherwise with the cute hedgehogs.
Have some cards to send so must go to the post box later, otherwise not much happening because I think my pain is sciatica and have been sitting here since 4am and still no better with the meds.
I wish you a nice day and sending big hugs to you all xxx

  4. Hi Sandra and all in the Cafe today. Two lovely cards today. I love the blended colours you used on the cute little hedgehog card and I think the butterfly card is really different, an unusual style which I love. I have this set of stamps and magazine so I will be having a go at this style of card, maybe even for my challenge card!!! I’m sorry to hear you were feeling so bad yesterday my lovely and hope you are not so bad today but don’t hesitate to check with 111 again if you feel any worse. I hope it is the same bug that the girls had last week. I’m sending you big gentle hugs my lovely. It’s good that you have spoken to your Mums GP even though nothing can be done at the moment. People taking advantage of others especially during bad times are the dregs of society and the people at the pub in your village are doing just that with the disgusting prices they are charging people who have no other option. I hope no one buys anything from them and remembers what they did when they can open as a pub again!!! Sorry but scum like this make my blood boil. Soapbox back under the counter xx
Maria, I’m sorry you are suffering so much. I hope you have managed to get to sleep at last. Hugs are on their way to you x
I want to get out in the garden today and get some washing on the line too 😁 I hope you all manage to get some sun on your skin for a while today. Sending love and hugs to you all with extras for Lynda, Mum, Maria and all in need. Take care xx

  5. Two very pretty cards SANDRA I particularly like the second one and with a change of colour and embellishments eg beer mugs, footballs, cogs (can you see where I’m coming from!) would make a perfect layout for a man’s card I hope you’re beginning to feel better too
I think it’s awful that people are taking advantage and like SUE think they’re the scum of the earth

I’m just off to do Joe Wickes 10 minute workout for Seniors

Then if I can summon up the mojo will have a play in my craft room It looks like a tip at the mo but I think I can find 6 inches to craft in

Hugs to LYNDA MARGARET MARIA and all who need one
Take care all and stay safe

  6. Hi Sandra & ladies
Lovely cards today. I to love the hedgehog one especially.
A nice sunny day here again today. But haven’t as yet been out. I was thinking of going shopping as although Sainsbury’s have Friday morning dedicated to over 70:s & the vulnerable. Last time I went early in the morning it was manic. I’d rather go when it’s a bit quieter especially if they’re only letting a few in at a time. Hopefully they might have some milk.
    Take care everyone out there.
Hope your feeling a bit better soon Maria

  7. Hello All, very hot here today, we are in our back garden which is a real sun trap.
Been painting the garden furniture, hate the job but they look so much better when done.

Two lovely cards Sandra, especially the second one. Hope you are feeling better now. The grandchildren are getting stir crazy all ready, they can’t go in the garden as they have builders in putting a new kitchen.

Been doing housework today as my cleaners are not coming, can’t say I’m enjoying it, keep finding things to distract me

Hope you are all enjoying the weather, hugs to all Lilian
