Your Old/New Challenge Cards

Good Moring Ladies,

I hope that you are all well and enjoying the weekend, Paul and I didn't step foot outside yesterday, I was playing with my Gelli Plate and making a couple of sample cards for the Save The Date cards that Becca has asked me to make for a friend. Making 70 of the same thing doesn't excite me I'm afraid!

I have loved this Challenge , thank you Karen for the suggestion, it does us all good to get rummaging through those Old dies, I ended up pulling several different sets of Spellbinders Rectangle dies out to use for future projects, I forgot how much I liked them.
You have all clearly enjoyed it too as your cards are amazing.

Let's have a look......
Sue

Oh Sue I love how your Old/New Challenge card turned out, Sue started this card on Thursday afternoon, so I got to watch it come together, it looks so much better now it has been framed with black card and the sentiment added.  I do really like that stamp too Sue, good choice!

Here is Sue's description.....

" The new bit is the Woodward stamp called Nature Watch and the old are the DO inks, freebie background stamps and a freebie tag die."

Thank you so much Sue for taking part in the challenge, it's lovely to be able to share your cards. xxx

Brenda

Two lovely cards from Our Brenda for this weeks Old/New Challenge, what did Anne think to the Card-i-o stamps Brenda??
I love the card you made with them, the floral borders are so pretty, very Spring like!
You always really worked magic with Sue's New York collection Brenda, I think that they are some of your nicest cards.  I have them visible in my gallery as I love them and think they are so inspirational.
It sounded like you had a lovely time crafting with your Sister.

Card 1:The Card-I-O Stamps are new and the 'Thank you' die is an old one.
Card 2:  My CC is made with SW dies dating back a few years it’s the Times Square die set using Aqua cardstock. The New bits are the stamps and the letter dies "

Thank you so much for 2 lovely challenge cards Brenda xxx

 Janet

WoW Janet, 3 stunning cards from you this week for the Old/New Challenge, it looks as though you loved this challenge as much as I did.
I love Phil Martins Double Debossed dies, I would love the rectangles, they give such a lovely finish to your card.
I must mention the colour of those stunning flowers on your third card, WOW!

"My first card is madeup as follows:- Mat and layers are cut with Phil Martins 'Stately Collection Double Debossed Elegant Labels) for my NEW die and the Flowers are Sue Wilson- two of her earliest dies for my OLD dies.

My second card is made up as follows:- The base card is Dolly Dimples NEW and I have tried to think outside of the box and deconstructed an OLD card to use for the Apron centre piece.

My third card is made as follows:- The sentiment is the NEW die and the main die cuts represent my OLD dies. Both dies are Tonic."

Thank you for three stunning cards Janet xxx

Lilian

What a gorgeous card Lilian, so perfect for you with the Bee Hive too, I love how the Queen Bee is much prettier than the drones with her floral body!
You always colour your cards so perfectly Lilian, that yellow is so vibrant, the border really sets the card off perfectly too.

"Here is my card for this weeks:
New stamps by Pink Ink designs
Old stencil
First ever buys from tonic, still love this set with small scallops and straight edged dies."

Thank you so much Lilian for another amazing Challenge card xxx

Maria

Maria has made two gorgeous Old/New Challenge cards this week, both very different, both beautiful !  I see that you too could not resist that beautiful Fern die from Paula Pascal (the magazine Freebie), it is gorgeous and so are the matching stamps, I think we might have to ban these magazine reviews, it's costing us all too much money, lol.  I managed to get the other Paula Pascal die on the Die Cutting magazine from a lady that gets sent magazines at trade cost and re-sells them, so it's always worth looking on the Craft Declutter groups on Facebook, I paid £6 instead of £10 for mine!
If you want me to show you which group just let me know, she advertises them in groups of 4 but she is more than happy to split them up. They come brand new the same as you buy in supermarket.

Your first card is lovely, I love that beautiful green background paper, it works so well with that vibrant orange colour and also works with the fern stamp.
I love that floral paper that you have used on your second card, those ornate corners are really pretty too.

Card 1:  " One Old Die which not even have any holes to take the paper out,
(no name) and new stamp Fern from the Crafting Mag. You bought it too.

Card 2:  Another Old Die From SW and new-ish Paper that I used some other
dies to make little flowers and the Greeting will be stuck inside or something
totally different idea one day."

Please don't ever apologise for sending your card on a Saturday Maria, I am just so grateful that go to the trouble of taking part.
Thank you so much for 2 lovely cards. xxx

  5. Hi Sandra & ladies
Wow what a wonderful collection of cards today. I hope you have enough boards to put them on in the cafe. Quite fancy pork Janet as I haven’t had any for awhile.
We have sunshine today but it’s very windy again. I really wish it would get a bit warmer. It poured with rain last night so I was expecting it to be wet today as well.
I’ve looked at a video on line of how to use the perfect layering rulers. So I might give that a go later on today.
Take care everyone if you need to go out today. My garden recycle bin was delivered yesterday. I was told it could take up too 4 weeks to be delivered. It came in two days. All I need now is to find someone to cut the hedge and perhaps clean the patio.

  6. Hello Sandra and ladies,
What a wonderful selection of challenge cards, thank you Karen for suggesting this one. It was a happy coincidence that I had cut out this Aqua card using SW Times Square dies, for my sister - I must have sent them to her well over a year ago. She had been saving the die cuts for a special occasion. When I went to see her last week she had been asked to make a card for a special young lady. Handing me the die cuts she said would you show me how you would use these. So I was able to make a CC with time to spare. Since returning home I have been cutting out replacements for her in various colours.
Sandra, Anne loved the Card-io stamps, I had taken my collection with me, and she choose the sets she would like to keep. She can now play away to her heart’s content. She really loved the card Wendy made for me to give her and we both made a similar copy’s - these will be her Easter cards, with just add a die cut sentiment added.

Time to get a wiggle on and start dinner, everything is prepared and ready to go.
Hope you have all had a good weekend.
    Love Brenda xxx
