Mixed up Saturday featuring Michele's magazine Review

Good Morning Ladies,

I hope that you are all well and enjoying the weekend, Paul is on call from work so it's a quiet one for us.

Frustrating news from Lynda, her Consultant isn't pleased with her wound so she is having to go back to Theatre to have it re-stitched, which means she won't be going home this weekend.  I feel so sorry for her as she was really looking forward to getting back home.  Fingers crossed that as soon as the wound has been re-stitched it will just be a case of staying in over night, as they part that takes the longest is the physio's getting your mobility back and Lynda has been given the 'green light' to go on that one.  I know it's frustrating but it is better to be safe than sorry, the last thing you need is infection getting into that new joint.  Sending huge hugs XXX

Today's first feature is the last of the projects that I made for 'Inlovearts' I made the Gift Bags were made on the Gift Bag Punch Board, I then added the Bag Toppers that I had die cut in Mirror card, the large one for the larger bag and the smaller one for the small bag.
The large bag has one of the intricate lace border dies on both sides.
The smaller Gift Bag has the Bag topper cut in half on both sides, it really gives a nice decorative touch to the bags that matches the tops too.

Nicki's Cards

Karen's lovely friend Nicki has made some amazing Christmas cards, I think that both of these cards have used the Laminator Background, where you add glitter or little decorations in a laminator pouch and run it through, this seals the glitter etc inside.
Nicki's first card has a Glitter background that looks just like is snowing, Nicki has built the scene up by adding some snowbanks for the Dino's to play on.  Such a cute card, I absolutely love it Nicki xx

Nicki's second card had mini Christmas trees in the aperture of this card (they can be put in the laminator pouches too) or it could be a shaker card. Nicki has then added the super cute Penguins and Llama's, having them pop out from inside the aperture.  Absolutely genius Nicki, I love both of your cards, I can see that you are a fan of the amazing Jennifer Maguire too.

Thank you so much Nicki for sharing your cards with us XXX

Michele's Magazine Review

Hi Ladies,

Simply Cards & Papercraft has a really lovely set of Dies & Stamps plus Embossing Folder.

Here’s some ideas of what’s inside the magazine.

Some inspiration using the free gift.

First of two articles using the free gift-some really lovely cards to make.

Second feature using the free gift.

Part two.

Interesting article on Glacier Paste which relates a lovely effect.

Detailed feature on Hot Foiling & an offer code for anyone that’s tempted to order a machine. I’m interested but unsure how much I’d actually use this machine . Has anyone got hot foil machine & if so, what do you think of it??

Great article on using Distress inks to create a “splatter effect “.

That’s all for this week,
Happy Crafting

Love Michele

Thank  you so much Michele for another great magazine Review,  this one is packed with great features on really popular items, tjere are loads of different craft 'mediums ' around now so having an article on 'Glacier paste' is really useful, because we often buy it and put it to one side, we then forget about the demonstration that inspired you to buy it.
The free gift is lovely too, with stamps that would work beautifully fir Spring cards, which will soon be upon us. .
Thanks my lovely for a brilliant review xxx

That's all for today's post ladies, enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Love and hugs to all of you,

Sandra

  1. Morning Ladies

Sandra love the gift bags, they’re beautiful.

Nicki-both of your cards are fantastic. I love them both.

I have a hairdressers appointment (for a blow dry) at 9:30 then I’m meeting a friend for coffee at the Chocolate shop in the village. We off out tonight to a 60th Wedding Anniversary celebration at the Golf Club hence the hair appointment. I haven’t met most of the group for a couple of years so it will be a nice opportunity for a catch up. Probably a late night too!

  3. Morning ladies,

Cannington Christmas is finally here and all my gift bags and presents are all over the dining room in categorised boxes to make it easier for filling the bags later on with the help of my neighbour friend Joan.
For those of you looking in who do not know about Cannington Christmas it a village celebration with stalls down by the brook in Brook Street from every village group, we have Santa's Grotto, hot mulled wine, Christmas carols sung by the URC choir and the official lighting up of our village tree. A couple of hours of fun had by all with the added bonus of bargain buys and raffle prizes.

1st Cuppa tea is calling me before the mayhem commences, I hope your day treats you kindly.

    Love 7 hugs

Brenda- hope the injection will relieve the pain in your shoulder. Awful thing. Take care.
Had a lovely x-mas lunch with some ladies from the fibro group. Always feel a bit nervous to meet new people but they were all very nice and we did have a giggle together. Hopefully the lady holding it will get others to join so it will be some more get together's in the new year. Today I'm on my own and after a chat with one great friend (Sandra) I am feeling a lot calmer and will hopefully get something done but first a mug of tea.
Have a good day as possible ladies, take care xxx

  5. Hi everyone! Apologies for the silence lately...I've been settling into a new job! I hope everyone is well and looking forward to Christmas. You are so right, I'm obsessed with Jennifer McGuire...and Lawn Fawn! hehe The first card is the laminating technique with embossing powder. The second card is a shaker card. I had SO much fun making these for family.
