A Christmas Groovi card

Good Morning Ladies,

I hope that you are all well and have had no damage from this storm 'Atiyah' that seems to be causing havoc across the country, I hope and pray that you are all safe.

Lynda has had her operation cancelled again today, I can't imagine how disheartened she must be feeling, she did say that she wished she had prepared some stamping or something to colour just to help with the boredom, the days are just so long as they wake you so early on the Wards.  Fingers crossed that today is the day!! xx

Today's card is my latest Groovi card, I made it with that lovely poinsettia corner plate, that I borrowed from Pat, I used it to frame that lovely sentiment that I bought in the Clarity Sale a few weeks back.
After embossing all the detail I decided to colour the Poinsettia's, I tried a few different mediums, pencils, Dorso Crayons and decided to go with my Stampin' Blends  (Old Olive and Cherry Cobbler) as they gave the most depth of colour through the parchment, I added some white pencil to the ribbon. I mounted the Groovi work onto a Cherry Cobble mat and then onto a mat of Old Olive and then onto a white card base that measured 6 1/2 X 6 1/2 inch.
To finish the card I added some Perga Glitter (which is extra fine) around the centres of the flowers and then popped a gemstone in the centre of the flower that I had coloured with my Cherry Cobbler Stampin Blend.

A quiet day for me yesterday, Lucy and I did some 'Online Shopping' had a nice homemade lunch and then I went into my craft room.

Have a lovely day however you are spending it,

Love and hugs to all,

Sandra

Sandra-your Card is absolutely stunning, it’s beautiful. Online shopping sounds perfect-I’ve not really started my Christmas shopping yet!

Thanks for your lovely comments on my cards yesterday.
Yesterday was crazy busy all morning. Sat in a meeting in the afternoon to discuss the Haematology services then it was home time. Quick visit to my Dads who was in a very chatty mood. Home & had a relaxing evening reading.

  3. Morning Everyone
Gorgeous card SANDRA.Love every bit of it.
I haven't touched my Groovi stuff for months. I seem to be bogged down with other crafting.

We had the most awful day yesterday.Lights had to be on all day as it never got light and we had rain in the morning but oh did it change in the afternoon. The storm really took off torrential rain and with it really high winds so much so that plant pots/bins etc were all over the place.I really feel for those who have been flooded out the other week. They must not be able to see the start of clearing up yet.

CHERYL-I was so sad to read your family news.Huge gentle hugs Dear Friend.
LYNDA-fingers crossed you will get your op today.I'm thinking of you Dear Friend.Chin up.Hugs aplenty coming your way.

The CAFE is OPEN ready for you all.
HUGS are winging their way toyou.Take care and stay safe.xxxx

  4. Morning ladies,

What a downpour and heavy winds we have had since Sunday night. The wind was blowing so hard it made my blinds clatter against the window. For some reason my bedroom window has developed a crinkle in that the window seal does not close tight enough to stop the air from coming through the gap. So off I went to find the gunk gun and window sealant, and it has done the trick....no more icy blasts.

Went to my book club meet up at the library for the discussion of the last book, only one person enjoyed the book! I do not like reading 'I' books, I prefer to get to know the character in the first couple of chapters which you cannot do if the principal character is talking about themselves. So I skipped to the last few pages to see how the story ended, the subject throughout the book was mental health and his relationship with a 'nutty' patient and his mother's failure to see that a fatal accident in were a lorry ran over his elder brother was not the fault of the narrator.
One of the ladies kept pronouncing my name as Sheryl not Cheryl so I mentioned that I would prefer to be called by my parents chosen name for me. One of the others then said I was arrogant in not accepting people's alternative pronunciation of my name. WOW! Is that not arrogance on her/their part too? I would never dream of calling someone by any other name than the one where they introduced themselves to me.

    Love 7 hugs
    Xxx

  6. Hi Sandra and all today.
Gorgeous groovi card Sandra, real beautiful.
Oh Lynda, not again. I am so sorry to hear that they are delaying you next op so you can't come home yet. Sending you and CU many hugs and everything crossed.
Karen, hope the dentist went ok, hug
Janet, I hope the storm is gone for now. It was very windy and so much rain came down but not as much as you got up North. Lilian, I hope you ok in Cornwall too .
Today started as a nice day, cold and sunny but around 2pm the rain came again. We had a trip to Stamford to dust and hover the flat, no takers yet for it to be sold. I think it will take some time which is not good. Well we just have to wait.
Have a nice evening everyone and take care. Many hugs to you all, Maria xxx

  7. Hi Sandra and all in the Cafe today. Another absolutely gorgeous Groovi card. I love both the sentiment and font it is in too, really decorative but still easy to read ( I have a bug bear about sentiments/fonts that take ages to decipher! ) It sounds like you had some nice one to one time with Lucy yesterday 😊 xx
Lynda, you poor thing. You must be tearing your hair out with frustration. Could Terry bring you in some pre stamped images/colouring books (if you have any?) and coloured pencils or pens to help pass the time? Or would they be hard for him to find in your craft room? Or maybe like most of us I expect you know where to find your things but trying to explain to someone else where to find them would be difficult, especially our other halves if yours is like mine 😏 Sending you both big hugs xx
Maria, we had the same beautiful start to the day and then the grey skies with rain this afternoon! It’s a difficult time of year to sell property isn’t it but I hope you get a buyer soon x
Brenda, how did your blood test go? I hope the levels were ok x
Sending love and hugs to you all with extras for Lynda and all in need. Take care xx

  9. Hello Sandra and ladies

What a pain- I’ve just lost my comment .... grrrrrrr

Sandra your Groovi card is really lovely.

Lynda sorry you are still in hospital, I hope today has given you some answers. Sending hugs just for you. xxx

Margaret thank you for the hugs, I’ll save them for tomorrow if you don’t mind when I have the steroid injection in my shoulder.

I’ve had internet problems for a couple of days. What a problem it has been, couldn’t access my email account, think it’s sorted now. I was trying to track a parcel today, when I did get into my account, saw the delivery slot finished at 9pm. Guess what it hasn’t arrived. Frustrating or what.

Will say goodnight to you all, love Brenda xxx
