Becca's Birthday Card

Good Morning Ladies,

I hope that you are all enjoying this lovely sunshine, it just makes such a difference to the day to get up and fling all the windows open and get washing dry too! I had to change our sheets yesterday as I had bought a new super king flat sheet to go on the bottom and for some reason it has gone all bobbly, you know what I mean,  pilling I think they call it,  it's so annoying,  I can't sleeping on it, I have said before I am like the 'princess and the pea' when it comes to bed, the slightest crease or crumb means the bed gets stripped and straightened,  feeling those little bits on my legs is awful,  so that sheet can go to he a rag or something!  Are any of you the same??

Becca had a lovely Birthday,  Adam whisked her off to Alton Towers on Tuesday then they drove to Birmingham and stayed in a nice hotel, Adam had paid to have the room decorated and have prosecco and strawberries waiting when they arrived, yesterday they went for a wander round Gas Street Basin and the canals which have been redeveloped into little boutiques and Bistros,  they couldn't have wished for better weather.

Today's card is one I made for Becca's Birthday,  using Anna Marie Designs papers and dies, I layered papers onto the base card, after distressing the edges, adding little tears and inking to grunge it up a little. I added a pearl lace trim under a central panel of the pretty papers, I then began to work on the main focal point which was a layered die cut butterfly,  I used Anna Marie designs Butterfly die to cut a black outline followed by another two outline/ border pieces, then I added full butterfly die cuts in patterned paper and vellum.

I then started to embellish the butterfly,  I used different foliage die cuts in green card, white card and vellum.  To add a bit of texture I coloured a piece of white tulle black with a posca pen, gathered it and tucked it under the butterfly's wing. I used sentiments from the Hunkydory sentiment pad, layered onto white card and arranged them down the card.  For the inside I used another piece of Anna Marie paper and die cut the Happy Birthday,  black looked too heavy,  white got lost, so I used the black to create a drop shadow, I think it works.  I hope she likes it.

I hope that you all have a lovely day in the sunshine,

Love and hugs to all of you,

Sandra                                                                                  xxxxxx

    Take care everyone xx

Happy Birthday to her (sorry I’m late) and it sounds like she had a lovely surprise trip away 😊 xx
Very hot again today, fortunately I’m off work now for 4 days - it’s almost unbearable there at the moment 🥵

  3. Hi Sandra and all in the Cafe today. Becca will definitely love her card, a proper pretty in pink affair is right up her street isn’t it. What a lovely time she will have had with all of the special treats Adam organised for her. I’m so sorry your leg is causing you such pain my lovely. All you can do is rest. I do know just what you mean about bumpy sheets as I hate that too. We also get piling really badly on the mattress topper we have on our bed so I have to get out the clothes shaver to get rid of them. The one on Chris jnr/spare room bed is fine though but it is a different make so maybe that is the reason. No matter what it is horrid trying to lie on little bumps xx
Lilian, I hope your back is easing xx
Brenda, how are you feeling today? Xx
Karen, I bet you keep looking at your painted toes. You deserve to treat yourself xx
Maria, I’m not surprised you had a cry as C went off on the next stage of his life. And at least you can now fill the fridge with things that you and R enjoy without feeling guilty xx
Sonia, enjoy your time off. Will you get out to be in the sun or are you not keen on it? Xx
Janet, I hope you are enjoy the lovely sun. Definitely not as hot as your home from home though if I remember rightly xx
I am going back to finishing Pops Father’s Day card. He wouldn’t even give it a thought if we didn’t give him a card. In fact he normally says “it’s not my birthday is it?” And would believe me if I said yes it was, until he checked the calendar anyway 🤣🤣🥰
Love to you all. Take care xx

  5. Hello Sandra and ladies,
I’m sure Becca loved her beautiful birthday card, it really is very special, thank you for sharing it with us Sandra. So pleased she enjoyed her birthday treat from Adam. xxx
I went into Croydon today, John took me in, I asked him to leave me for a while, it’s our wedding anniversary tomorrow and I wanted to pick up something for him, I called him when I had finished. By the time we arrived back home I was really tired. But I had managed to find what I wanted. So that perked me up.
Hope everyone has had a good day.
Take care and stay safe, hugs Brenda xxx
