Two more challenge cards

Feminine/Die Cuts/Metallic

Stripes/Die Cuts/Embossing

Good Morning Ladies,

Becca has asked me to thank you for her lovely Birthday messages, she had a lovely day Kayaking down the Thames,  followed by a yummy looking dinner out in the evening.   We are taking her out for lunch today at the Red Lion here in the village,  she has been there a couple of times but we are yet to try it, she booked the table a couple of weeks ago, the girls are off too so we there will be 6 of us (luckily) Matt is working and can't get time off sadly.  It should ve lovely if the storms that are forecast wait until we are done!

It's so frustrating to see the Covid 19 numbers rising, but I can't say I'm surprised,  people have become so complacent, yes it's frustrating that the opening up has been delayed but it is for our own good, look what happened last summer when the government eased lockdown restrictions,  we ended up in another lockdown because people went crazy.  I think the government would have received criticism which ever choice they made!  I personally welcome the cautious approach. (Rant over).
Sophie and Lucy got their invitation to be vaccinated yesterday,  they have both booked for next Friday, which is great news.

Card 1:

I made this card last year using the Brand New 'Scripty' Embossing Folder from Stampin Up! I used the folder to emboss a piece of Green card, I placed this piece onto a piece of the same colour card that was 1/8th inch bigger and then onto a 6 x 6 card base.  The frame was made using 'SU' Woven Heirlooms ' Dies and Embossing folders. (You get an Oval and Rectangle frame die with matching Embossing Folder for each shape)
I used a Matt Gold card for the frame and corners.
Next I stamped my sentiment in ink to match the background card and placed it in the centre of the card with the frame on top.
I added some foliage and a bow topped with a flower, but I thought the card needed something 🤔 else, after a bit of thinking I decided on corners die cut in the same matt gold card as the frame, i finished those with a tiny pearl to match the one in the centre of the 🌼 flower!
What do you think?? I love it  😍 hahaha

Card 2:

I used the Concorde & Ninth Stamp set that I bought a few weeks ago, taking the Stiped one and stamping it multiple times in different shades of Green Distress Oxide inks. I matted this background piece onto a black mat, then onto a white card base.
I have an old Spellbinders Die set with matching stamps, I used the 'Friend' die to cut two layers, I then adhered them together and pushed the front piece into a Versamark ink pad and them covered with clear embossing powder, I repeated this twice which gives a lovely glossy finish to the die cuts. I then stamped one of the matching stamps to finish the sentiment.
I wanted to keep this card fairly clean and simple so I used my Chinese Rose flower dies to create a simple rolled rose, I coloured the card with matching Distress Oxide before cutting, I rolled three roses and added two leaves in slightly darker shade.
I arranged these in the bottom left hand corner.
I really like how if turned out, it has quite a modern look I think.  I hope that you like it too!

I hope those cards give you a little inspiration.

Another warm and muggy day today, storms later on tonight, stay cool my lovelies,

Iove and hugs to all of you

  2. Morning ladies.
Love both of your cards Sandra. Great way to make stripes and I like the way you make the glossy friend.
Glad Rebecca had a good birthday and have a nice meal together later today.
I'm suffering with the heat a bit. Crazy because my fibro feel better normally but not the last few days so not sure yet about a cc. Have started and stopped so many times already and that's so far I've done. Washing machine nr 3 is nearly finished so going to hang that out and then have some breakfast out on the patio under the shade.
Have a wonderful day everyone. Hugs xxx

  4. Hi Sandra and all in the Cafe tonight. Two great cards, so different to each other but love them both.
Those rolled roses are beautiful, perfect for this style of card aren’t they. It’s good to hear Becca enjoyed her trip on the river kayaking yesterday (I wish I could still do it) and I hope you all had a lovely meal out today xx
A quite day for me today. It’s definitely much cooler already and it feels like the rain isn’t too far away now so that should give us a cooler night 🙂
Sending love and hugs to you all with extras for all in need. Take care xx

  5. Hi, very cloudy and humid here today.

Sandra two great cards, love the rolled roses.

Felt very low this morning, called the surgery, as I needed a check up to continue the higher dose of my tablets. Told to request them on line and they would be reviewed, still asked for a consultation with Dr. told he would look at my notes and telephone if he wanted to see me, she totally ignored everything I told her about how I was feeling.( sorry for rant) not had any calls.
Hope you all had a good day, Lilian

  6. Hello Sandra and ladies,

Love both of today’s cards, love those stripes, I forget to use my Chinese roses they look so elegant.

Had a busy day today, went supermarket shopping this morning, the afternoon was again busy with phone calls all friends and family, lovely to chat especially when we haven’t been able to meet up for such a long time.
This evening when I went out to water the garden it started to rain so the garden has had a really good soaking better than I can do with my watering can or hose.

So pleased Becca enjoyed her birthday treat, hope you all enjoyed you meal today, sounds like great family time.

Take care everyone, sleep well. Love Brenda xxx
