Amazing You Challenge card

Good Morning Ladies,

How are you all doing this week? What have you all been up to,  anyone made their Challenge card yet?.

We had a busy morning,  I booked a slot at the local Tip (Household Recycling Centre), the slots are hard to get hold of, this one had been booked about 3 weeks, I did manage to get a cancellation for  week on Saturday too, today's trip was mostly cardboard, we had a huge collection, but I guess we weren't able to go to tip last year so that hasn't helped. Paul managed to fit loads in, that is the good thing about our car, you can take all of the back seats out which makes loads of space.

I saw this card on Pinterest and loved the subtle stamping effect, the card was designed by Stampin Jack. It's from a few years back, but I actually love this stamp set.

So I took a piece of Pink Frog super smooth, stamped the flower spray a few times around the opposite corners in Grey Granite ink, which makes a really nice change to black. I then used a Clear Wink of Stella as a waterbrush and added some Pool Party ink to the flowers,  the wink of stella adds lovely shimmer too. That is the only colour the card needed.  I die cut the 'Amazing ' twice and adhered them together, so that the sentiment stood out a bit more. I laid the die cut in position without sticking it down so I could position the 'YOU' stamp. I removed die cut and stamped YOU in Night of Navy ink.  I adhered the die cut sentiment and layered the card front first onto a piece of Grey Granite card and then onto Night of Navy card base. To finish the card I popped a Crystal gem into centres of the flowers.  I really love the contrast between the Navy and the soft Grey.

Not much on here today, I have a couple of cards to make before weekend.

I hope that you all have a lovely day,

Love and hugs to all of you,

Sandra                                                                                xxxxxx

  1. Morning Ladies

Sandra-what a lovely card, such delicate colours.
I’m glad you took your cardboard to recycling centra as there’s a national shortage of cardboard! Honestly, it was on the news yesterday.
We have a wheelie bin for al recycling items which is a fantastic bonus as I’d have struggled over lockdown but our bin men never failed to empty our bins.

I’m finishing early today as I have a very long dentist appointment-I need 4 fillings!! Can’t say I’m looking forward to going but needs must. At least I have the next 2 days off work which I booked ages ago.

  3. Morning Everyone
Love today's card SANDRA. I put it into my 'less is more' box.
    Very elegant too.

We like MICHELE have bins for all our waste/recycling and they are collected on a rota. Our bin collections were also collected without fail through all the lock downs.

I have managed to get my CC finished so now they need copying and sending.
My jobs for today are:- put my Tesco order in for delivery Friday, fill my tablet box for the next two weeks and then hopefully get a little crafting in. Well that's the plan.

The CAFE is OPEN so choose your tables -inside or out.
HUGS are winging their way to you all.TAKE CARE AND STAY SAFE.xxxx

  4. Hi ladies
Very delicate colours on this one Sandra.
I’m meeting a friend for a coffee later today. We also have a wheelie bin for our recycling. We also have the very large bins for cardboard / recycling / bottles at the end of my road. I also didn’t know there was a shortage of cardboard. I really don’t need a large bin for my waste as I don’t have much waste. Like the others our dustbin men came every week.
Take care & stay safe everyone.

  5. Hi everyone
Love your gorgeous card today and it’s beautiful colour combo.
I’m doing well with my cards this week, made 3 and one of those is a Christmas one 😊
Hope you get on ok at dentist Michele xx
We have a bin for recycling too, but our garage is full of larger empty boxes that we’ve not been able to take to the tip! Perhaps that’s where the cardboard shortage has come from, we’ve got it all here, lol 😂 Not so easy for us to dispose of, as you have to book in advance to go to the tip, what with me working weekends and mark gigging it’s just one of those things we never get around to doing. We need an industrial sized skip to clear it 😫
Hope you’re all having a good day so far. Sending hugs to you all xxx

  7. Hello Sandra and ladies,

Lovely card today Sandra, I like stamping in grey, some years ago I saw Sheena Douglas use grey, it doesn’t overpower the colouring. I just like it. Pool Party and Navy are a very pleasing combination, thank you for the inspiration.

We have recycling bins which are emptied on a rota, if you want the bin men to take garden waste you have to pay extra, so that and anything else big gets taken to the tip. Fortunately we don’t have to book slots at our local recycling centre (tip) you just turn up sometimes it is a bit of a queue. If the people that live around Croydon had to book slots we see even more rubbish dumped on the streets, people are just so lazy They can’t be bothered to go to the tip. It’s disgusting.

I went out for lunch today with my teacher group, it was a bittersweet occasion, we hadn’t been able to meet up for over 16 months, so it was lovely to see everyone, but one of the founder members died last summer, she had cancer of the ovaries, the diagnosis was confirmed on a Monday she died the following Thursday evening. Such a shock to everyone, she was such a lovely lovely person.

    Take care everyone,
    Love Brenda xxx
