Your Challenge Cards

Good Sunday Morning Ladies,

I hope that you all were able to enjoy some lovely sunshine yesterday,  boy it was warm here in the afternoon, we really wanted to crack on with the vegetable patch yesterday,  so we were up early at got shopping done, which meant we were back home way before lunchtime and were ready for a productive afternoon.  I was on 'light duties' though as my left hip is really giving my problems recently, it could br linked to my knee problems but it's not surprising really as it has taken all of my weight for the last 50+ years as my other hip deteriorated, combined with the leg length difference etc, it has done well to last as long as it has!!
So Paul was digging and pulling weeds and I was allowed to be in control of Paul's new Garden Shredder,  oh boy was it fun, I started out with a huge pile of branches, the long thick roots of an invasive Ivy, the stems from the Sprouting Broccoli plants,  when I was so done I had turned a huge pile that waste into a couple of recycle size boxes full of chippings,  that machine is amazing!! We did take two long breaks for some cold drinks and a break too.
Now let's look at what you have been creating this week....

Sonia

Sonia's Description:

"I’ve used some dies from a Spellbinders set on my first card. The butterfly is one from Tim Holtz and the papers from ‘Tres Chic’ collection by Studio Light. I was inspired by a card on Pinterest to make this.
For my second card I used Tim Holtz’s ‘Flourish’ stencil to create thebackground using Distress Inks. I cut it to make a tile effect, and added the Tim Holtz butterfly in the centre."

WOW Sonia, your cards are so beautiful,  I love the combination of dies that you have used on the first card and the background of your second card is stunning.  Two absolutely amazing cards, thank you so much for taking part XXX

Brenda

Brenda's Description:

"The first one is a simple Christmas card,  I stamped the dove a long time ago I believe it’s a Barbara Grey stamp, I used Phill Matrins Charmed Rectangles to mount my dove, the Peace die I cut three times to make it stand out.
The die for the second card is Memory Box - Floating Butterflies, I coloured a piece of card with Distress Oxides for the base colour and added the outline die cut in white. The background stamps on this card are all Stampinup."

Brenda I love that simple yet stunning Christmas card, that Dove stamp is perfect. Phil's 'Charmed' collection are lovely,  giving a touch of elegance without being too much. Your Floating Butterflies are lovely and your colour blending is perfect, I love the background that you have stamped, such a brilliant way of creating your own matching Background paper!  Thank you so much for taking part my lovely XXX

Karen

Karen's Description:

I love both colourways of your cards Karen, those Butterflies are lovely and I love the xesign of the flower, I really like that it's designed not to be perfectly coloured.  Thanks so much for taking part and creating 2 beautiful cards XXX

Janet

Janet's Description:

"My card is made using STAMPERIA papers from their 'FOREST' set using birds and dragonflies to meet the theme 'Wings and things'

My next CC is the second page in my CC Journal. This too is made using STAMPERIA papers and embellishments but totally different to the card.
The set is 'SIR VAGABOND' and features Steam Punk which also meets the theme 'Wings and Things."

Oh Janet I love the mixed media style of your first card,  with that beautiful paper that has a lovely mix of text with all kinds of flora & fauna.  Your second piece has so much incredible detail, definitely one of those pieces where you see something new each time you look at it. Your Journal is going to be amazing when it is finished.  Thank you so much Janet XXX

Maria

Maria's Description:

"My second card started off with a piece of black card and a piece of pixie
powder card I made some weeks ago. I heat embossed some lines on the
black and cut out a pair of butterflies for this weeks wings cc. No sentiment

My second card is made with an embossing folder and bird die that came
with a magazine.Gave it a bit of colour with distress ink and cut out some
extra flowers. An easy card but took me a few days Emoji

My second card started off with a piece of black card and a piece of pixie
powder card I made some weeks ago. I heat embossed some lines on the
black and cut out a pair of butterflies for this weeks wings cc. No sentiment
yet.Finished off with some 'droplets'.
My third card came together by you saying dragons , I stamped the background
and printed off the dragon and then sat down and did some colouring in outside
under the parasol on the patio. Hope you like her."

Wow Maria, three amazing cards for this weeks challenge, they are all completely different in style and you have used so many different techniques. Your styles range from Mixed Media, with those lovely butterflies on that sparkly background,  to your beautifully delicate second card with that beautiful bird and that background is AMAZING,  then we have the lovely bright and bold Dragon card. So inspired, thank you so much my lovely XXX
Michele

Michele's Description:

"Here is my challenge card!! I used magazine freebie butterfly die and some black gemstones. Added a sentiment on the back of the card where there’s plenty of room to write."

Oh Michele these cards really do have the 'WOW' factor,  that freebie butterfly die looks like it was made to measure, I love how much detail it has too, it works great as a silhouette over that pretty background paper. Thank you so very much for sharing this amazing card style with us and for taking part in this weeks challenge. XXX

  1. Morning Ladies

What a fantastic selection of challenge cards today. They’re all so lovely especially Maria’s cute dragon card.

Yesterday was nice-not too hot but I managed to get lots of washing dry. I sat outside reading after lunch as it was too nice to be inside. I’m hoping to get some time in my craft room today after I’ve done all the housework as Hubby will be watching the Grand Prix.

  2. Hi ladies
A lovely selection of cards on display. It’s quite dull here this morning. I popped over to Danny & Joans yesterday afternoon to take a card over as it’s her birthday today. We sat in the back garden in the shade and had tea & cake. She’s an avid cake baker. I went over yesterday as I didn’t know if either her neice or nephew were coming down, but they weren’t.
If the sun pops out later I might just take a book down by the canal and read.
    Take care & stay safe.
