Alcohol pen/parchment Background

Good Morning Ladies,

I hope that you are all well, the weather wasn't the best yesterday but to be honest I didn't really see much of outside after getting back from my Mammogram,  I just got home and all but collapsed on the bed, they were a hectic few days.  I did summon the energy to go into my craft room, I had to clear the devastation that I caused while making Paul's parents Anniversary card. I soon got it cleared and then started playing with different background techniques.

For today's card I used two Stampin Blends (alcohol markers) called Mango Melody & Polished Pink, I scribbled them onto a piece of parchment and spritzed them with some Rubbing Alcohol that I have put into a fine spray bottle.  Now to be honest I put the piece on the recycle pile because it looked strange at first, I went to watch England score against Germany and when I returned it was like a miracle had taken place! It had blended beautifully.  So I placed it onto a piece of white card and matted and layered with Polished Pink and Mango melody card,  finishing with a white card base. That beautiful die cut was the perfect finishing touch, its from a die set called 'Artistic Background '(Stampin Up!), I die cut it twice and adhered it together, this gives a lovely thick die cut.  I couldn't decide on a sentiment so left it without for now.

I hope you all have a lovely day

Love and hugs,

Sandra                                                                                xxxxxx

  1. Your card is beautiful I have done this technique with glossy card scribbling onto a piece of plastic bag and used rubbing alcohol or surgical spirit I love the effect and that die is just gorgeous
Yesterday it rained practically all day We got an estimate for new carpets and as they were cheaper than a previous quote we have gone to them They did do the lounge/diner carpet last time and are good A small local company too

  3. Hi everyone
Love your card and the beautiful background. The die is perfect too 😊 Glad it didn’t stay on the recycling pile, perhaps a good sign that it turned out beautifully after England scored! Fingers crossed for Saturday ⚽️
I hope you managed to have a rest yesterday after your busy few days xx
Already done the dusting this morning as up early to take James to work, so at least that chore is out of the way. Plenty of time to do some crafting now.
Have a good day everyone. Sending hugs to you all xxx

  4. Hi everyone
Gorgeous card Sandra and glad it didn't went in the bin as it is perfect for the flower die.
Hoping everyone are ok and the coming days could get a bit better weather wise. I'm very cold and achy so just sitting with a jumper on and watching tv. Had a little trip out to Frost this morning and had the car washed, it was pretty dirty after our road trip :)
Have a nice day and many hugs are sent to you all, Maria xx

  5. Hello All, really warm and sunny here today.

Sandra love your card, the background is lovely, glad you didn’t bin it. Going to try and do something a bit more inspiring tomorrow.

Although I’m not a football fan very glad England won their match last night, let’s hope they keep it up for the next match.

Just finished cooking a piece of gammon for dinner, probably have salad and jacket potatoes, so nice and easy. Hugs to all Lilian

  7. Hello Sandra and ladies,

Sandra I’m so glad your background sheet didn’t make it to the bin, it lovely and the flower sits perfectly on top. A really beautiful card.

Had a phone call early today my sister is back in hospital, I have been trying to get updates but as usual they are waiting for the doctor to come bring results of tests they have done.

Lillian your dinner sounds lovely, Gammon is John’s favourite meat. He is ge sausages not my favourite meal but he likes them.

Well I better get a wiggle on. Have a lovely evening.
    Love Brenda xxx

    1. Hi Brenda, sorry your sister is in hospital again. At least she is in good hands. I hope you manage to get some answers about her soon. I’m not a big fan of sausages either but love gammon with pineapple, peas and Aldi skin on oven chips (I’m really not keen on chips either but these are delicious) xx

  8. Hi Sandra and all in the Cafe today. I missed seeing Paul’s Mum and Dads card. Wow what a fabulous beautiful keepsake and I love how you have hidden their wedding photo as an extra surprise 😍 I hope you are relaxing and in a little less pain now my lovely xx
Maria, I hope you are feeling a bit warmer now xx
Sonia, any chance you could come and do my dusting nice and early?😂😂 Long gone are the days when I used to be up at 5.30am to get household jobs done before going to work! Does Barnum wake you up early? Xx
Karen, it’s good to be able to use the small local companies isn’t it. I love the smell of fresh carpets, shame we don’t get them very often. Not that our older ones smell bad but I think you know what I mean 😄 How is our little Charlie now? All better I hope xx
Lynda, thinking of you and Terry xx
Sending love and hugs to you all with extras for all in need. Take care xx
