Your Challenge cards

Good Morning Ladies,

Oh wasn't it a beautiful day yesterday, so hot here, the girls painted the garden swing while Paul and I pottered around, the lawn looked so much better after it's second cut too. So a rewarding day for us.
I watched Tracy's workshop part 1, it looked great, I can't wait to start mine. I am looking forward to seeing Karen's & Lilian's too.

Let's look at what you have been making......

Sonia

Oh Wow, two amazing cards from Sonia for our Background Challenge. That Aall&Create stencil works perfectly for the background of your card, giving a perfect place to add the age, as the circle highlights it, touch of genius there Sonia.  I am guessing that this is for your niece that isnt girly?! It's perfect.
Your second card is stunning Sonia, I love the colours that you choose for your cards.

Sonia's Description:

"Here are my challenge cards:
The first one was the card I made for my Nieces Birthday. I used an AALL & Create stencil as my background, adding a few stamped stars. The Happy Birthday stamp is from Docrafts Papermania.
I’ve used another AALL & Create stencil on my second card. Die cut the Tim Holtz Flurry die twice - snipping off parts of the glittered one - and added the Tim Holtz sticker sentiment. I was debating whether to make it into a Christmas card, but decided on an everyday card."

Thank you so much for taking part Sonia, I know you have had a lot on your mind this week. XXX

Maria

Three amazing cards from Maria for the 'Background ' Challenge this week

Maria's Description:

1/ used a stencil on a Black card with Cosmic Shimmer Polish in three
different colours and made a little arrow for the sentiment.
2/ new Flower die from China, coloured in with T.Holtz Distress Oxide
3/ Embossing folder from a magazine, coloured over with sponge daubers
with Distress Inks.

Thanks so much Maria, I love all three of yiur cards, the first one looks like a piecd of art  great for men's cards too.
The colours you have used in the second card ate are delightful,  a lovely card.
The third card is pretty and delicate.
Thanks for taking part my lovely XXX

Janet

A pretty VE Day inspired card frkm Janet for this week's Challenge.
I love the vintage image that you have used Janet,  It works so well with the mixed media style of your card.

Thanks so much for taking part XX

Karen

Card 1: "Here’s a cc I did the elastic band technique using a block with evergreen bough and tumbled glass DO and a Gorgeous Grunge stamp with Mermaid Lagoon DO
Matted on a base card swiped around the edges with Mermaid Lagoon DO
SW Happy Birthday and Stitched Doodle Flowers"

Card 2:  "Here’s another cc The background is so easy to do It is glitterbitz and stars “trapped” in a laminating sheet backed onto navy card
It’s a shame the photo hasn’t picked up the sparkle"

Thanks Karen for two amazing Challenge cards XXX

Lilian

Lilian has made a stunning Challenge card, I really love the background you have designed,  I must buy some 'Masking Fluid', the good thing about using it is that you can stamp onto your background, if you have done the emboss resist you wouldn't be able to stamp the same.

Lilian's Description:
"Hello, here is my card for this week.
Le Blanch stencil, using masking fluid.
Tim Holtz wild flowers
Prima colour bloom "

Thanks so much for taking part Lilian XXX

Brenda

Brenda has used her Card-I-O Majestix stamps to create her Challenge card. I absolutely love your design and the colours you have used are just perfect.
Brenda's Description:

"it’s just a small 5 x 5” card I was playing around with my Card-io stamps a few days ago, I put some narrow Post-it tape around the edge, then stamped randomly away with my Majestix, ‘Forest Flora’
stamps using Atlantic, Boysenberry, Hyacinth, Neptune and Bamboo Versa mark ink pads. I cut a circle to make a focal point lightly blending the edges with Bamboo, then stamped the lower edge of the circle.  After that I was stuck, a die cut sentiment didn’t look right. Some time later I had a ‘lightbulb’ moment  What-if I stamped it using my stamp press. I played around stamped it about three times and then felt confident to go with my idea. I put my circle in the stamp press laid the stamp where I thought it should go, then stamped with Bamboo ink-pad ,  I moved my circle very slightly (about a millimetre) and stamped again using the Boysenberry ink pad, creating the shadow affect.  I know the stamping isn’t perfect but I was really pleased with my stamped shadow effect."

I would have been over the moon if I had designed this card Brenda, its amazing,  thank you so much for sharing it with us. XXX

Michele

Two fabulous cards from Michele, I love the amount of texture you have achieved in your first card Michele,  it works so well with the Fern die cuts.
Your second card would work perfectly as male birthday card too, love it!

Michele's Description:

Two challenge cards-first one is an embossed background (linen effect Embossing Folder) leaves Diecut using a magazine freebie. Christmas card background is inked through a stencil using Tumbled Glass distress ink & metallic rub ons which are years old! Sentiment & Stars are Diecut .

Thanks so much Michele, two fantastic cards XXX

Pat

Pat has shared 3 cards that she has made and finished this past week or so.
I love the colour combinations you have used Pat, the Butterfly card is beautiful with more subtle colours,  the other two are lovely and vibrant.
Absolutely gorgeous cards thank you so much for taking part in the Challenge,  I love to share your cards. XXX

  1. Good morning all
Today’s cards are brilliant I love seeing everyone’s take especially seeing items I recognise For example the stencil SONIA has used on her niece’s card having little stamped/die cut elements placed in the circle
I thoroughly enjoyed the workshop yesterday It got a bit messy and I spoiled a few of my pieces of card But that’s what a workshop is all about learning from our mistakes and being taught new things Today’s session will be a definite watch only whilst I finish off what we did yesterday This is what I love about an online class No expensive traveling costs and being able to go back and watch again and again
The weather is gorgeous at the moment I will certainly take advantage of it later
    Take care all xx

  2. Morning Ladies

Another fantastic selection of challenge cards today. So many different ideas-i have to say I struggled with this one & only made my cards yesterday. It’s slightly concerning being able to hear the Bees buzzing though the wall under my craft room window.
We had glorious sunshine yesterday so I sat outside reading. Today is quite breezy and dull and certainly much cooler. We have 2 trays of bedding plants to plant in the border today plus hubby wants to cut the grass. Don’t think I’ll be sitting outside though.

  3. Morning Everyone
Another Sunday morning with loads of inspiration on the boards.

Well what a difference we have here this morning weatherwise. Yesterday was just like a Summer's day and this morning we're back in Autumn. It's grey/windy and definitely cold and it doesn't look as though it will change as the day goes on.

The CAFE is OPEN ready and waiting for you all to pop in.
Lunch is Roast Pork for anyone who would like to order.
HUGS are on their way to you all. Please take care and stay safe xxxx

  4. Hi everyone.
Wow what a wonderful selection today, they’re all fantastic.
Karen, love the elastic band technique, it makes a great background.
Brenda, I absolutely love your card too. The colour combo and the shadow stamped sentiment work so well together. You’ve inspired me to get out my Card-io stamps and have a play 😊
Glad you all enjoyed the first part of the workshop, enjoy todays.
Hope everyone is well and have a lovely day whatever you are doing.
    Hugs to all xxx

  5. A lovely selection of cards today. It’s totally amazing as well that everyone is totally different.
It’s also cold, overcast & windy here today. No sitting outside for me either. I spent most of the day outside reading as well yesterday. Craig reckons ges walking into Witney today from Farringdon, if it doesn’t rain. It takes me 1/2hr to drive in the car. He’s already doing it but looks quite dark so he might just walk half way and back again.
Take care everyone and stay safe.

  7. Hello Sandra and ladies,

What a fantastic selection of CC all so different and so inspiring.

I had planned an easy day today but realised we haven’t any cake only biscuits in the cupboard, so today that is my plan. But I have spent so long looking at so many delicious cake recipes we might end up with scones. I have enough fresh strawberry’s in the greenhouse ready to pick and double cream in the fridge.

Better get a move on. Enjoy your day ladies. Love and hugs (virtual) Brenda xxx

  11. Evening ladies.
I did look in this morning before our walk but didn't have time to say how much I love all the background CC's in the cafe' today.
Love how your card came out Karen by using rubber bands.
Love the way Lilian's background card look and Michele's EF made it look like on a linen card. Sonia ,your background is used to perfection and Janet's VE day card is great.
Brenda, love when you get a 'lightbulb moment' your card is beautiful and Pat, many lovely colours on your backgrounds.
I have got that H. Birthday day and find it a bit fiddly when putting 3-4 layers together. Any idea how to make these a bit easier ?
It was a funny day with weather change like it did from so nice yesterday to cold winds, grey and rain. Had to get into cosy trousers and jumper to keep warm and after not much sleep during the night just took it easy and had a nap on the sofa Lol
I hope you all had a nice day . Many hugs Maria xx
