Die Background Challenge Card

Good Morning Ladies,

I have to say that we were reslly blessed with the weather this weekend,  we managed to get loads done in the garden, Paul managed to prepare a large plot ready for planting out some vegetables. It sounds like a quick job but it took hours of rotavating as it hasn't been used as a vegetable patch for many years, so a huge achievement, we went and bought some fertiliser to add as well to give the vegetable plants the best chance.

The girls were glad to be home, looking after a very bouncy puppy for 3 days has exhausted them I think, Becca also lives on a farm beside the Wildlife Park so you get the constant noise fron the many different animals, which probably sounds quite scary at night. Lucy was asleep by around 10pm which is just not heard of, they ssid said they were looking forward to not waking up before 6am to take Benji out for a loo break! A peaceful day alround tomorrow I think.

Today's card is my first Challenge card using a Die to create the background, the background die that I used is from 'Card Making Magic'  it's called 'Floral Trellis', it's a beautiful die that Michele kindly gave me. I die some lilac card with it and placed it onto a 5 1/2 inch square card base. The flowers are Honey Doo Spring flowers and I stamped them onto Lilac patterned paper and die cut with matching die, I shaped the flowers and added a touch of darker purple ink around the edges, I die cut some foliage too. I stamped the sentiment onto the same lilac card and die cut with a pierced flag die  adding a white mat to lift it from the background.
To finish the card I added some matching pearls onto the flowers and a few more around the background.
I hope you like the card and that it gives you a little inspiration.

I hope that you all have a lovely day today,

Love and hugs to all of you,

Sandra

  2. Morning Ladies

Sandra-what a beautiful card, such pretty colours.

We had sunshine all day yesterday so I made the most of & sat outside reading (in the shade).

Today we have a dull start with drizzle-I’d prefer a heavy downpour as the garden is so dry.

  5. Hi Sandra & ladies
    Great card today.
I’m glad that Paul was able to get quite a bit of digging done over the weekend. Would have been hard work as it was mostly grass if I remember correctly.
Didn’t realise that where Becca lives was near the wildlife park. Didn’t do much yesterday. Went for a couple of shirt walks and sat out in the garden reading.
When watering last night I noticed that the last of my begonias h which I thought was dead ) has started to show signs of life. They were to big for me to get out of the pots tast Autumn so they were left in them. I didn’t have a garden waster bin then to just empty the pot into. So hopefully I’ll have a begonia flowering this year. Mind you it should be a lot bigger by now.
Take care everyone and stay safe.

  6. Hi, sorry I haven’t posted for few days, I spend all day in the garden, then cook dinner, then I fall asleep, bit sad really.

Sandra what a beautiful card, haven’t thought about mine yet, don’t think I’ll go the same route as last weeks.

Another two people drowned on Cornish beaches, caught out by rip tides, one was a young woman, the other a man. Do wish people would take notice of all the warnings, but they know best!!!

R is trying the garden centre again today, it was so busy last week, they were turning cars away, needless to say he didn’t join the madness.

It’s a super day here again, wish it would rain by night, the garden is bone dry.
Whatever you’re doing have a good day. Lilian

  7. Hi everyone.
    Very pretty card Sandra.
Christina used this die on her card I think yesterday and as I got her dies i thought to use it myself, will see what happening.
The weekend was lovely. Pretended we were in Greece last night having Greek meatballs and Greek salad sitting out in the garden Lol well you can always dream but I miss the swimming pool.
Drove to a new place for our walk this morning. Lots of dog walkers around, we all kept our distance but a few dogs wanted to have a stroke and typical they went for OH who is allergic.
Overcast, +22c feels a bit muggy. Would like to see a little bit of rain. Watering the pots last night took me many trips with the watering cans, hose will come out if it's continues.
Have a nice day everyone. Plenty of hugs in the basket so help yourself to as many you want. Maria xx

  8. Hello Sandra and ladies,
What a pretty card Sandra, the colours you have used are lovely - just perfect for your design. Have the girls recovered yet from the puppy sitting duties?

Lillian I thought of you last night when watching the news. What a sad waste of lives - 2 people drowned on Cornish beaches. It must make local residents very angry when people ignore all the warnings signs and because of lockdown there are no lifeguards on duty, so the police have to step in and risk there lives. SORRY got on my soapbox there!

It’s been a lovely warm day here today, so we have been outside most of the day, John likes to keep busy doing jobs outside (is he hiding from me? ) I have nearly reached the stage of not being able to find him things to do outside when he asks. Maybe if the weather changes he could do some decorating indoors, don’t think he would get very excited about that, he isn’t keen on climbing ladders these days!

Have a good evening ladies, take care and stay safe, love Brenda xxx
