Your Die Background Challenge cards

Good Sunday Morning Ladies,

We had a very busy garden day yesterday, we were out at a table sale locally that were selling plants both Vegetable and flowers, the proceeds were going to the village Gardening Club.
Paul then prepared all the beds and frames for me to pot the beans, peas, sweetcorn, Kale, Brussel Sprout, Swiss Chard and more out, I think our watering routine just got a whole lot longer, I am also really conscious of the amount of water we are using, as we have used up the water in all three water butts. Being on a water meter really does make you more aware of how much water you are using.
I have this feeling that after such a dry May we will be heading for hose pipe bans again, despite the fact that we spent most of the winter under water around here.

Let's get to the best part of the day...…….

Brenda

Brenda has  used a Tim Holtz die to create the background for this lovely 'Clean & simple'  style card for this week's Die Background Challenge.
It's such a simple die but so very effective and I love the colours you have used in the background, the simple knotted ribbon is the perfect finishing touch for this gorgeous Challenge card.
Thank you so much Brenda for taking part XXX

Lilian
Lilian used a combination of Spellbinder Dies (for the background) and a Digistamp for the main image.  Such a beautiful image of a Geranium Lilian, you have coloured it perfectly too, I love the shading. The leaves look exactly like the real ones!

Thank you so much for taking part my lovely XXX

Cheryl

Cheryl made this absolutely stunning card for a lady in her village that has given a lot to the community and delivered some delicious Brownies to Cheryl as she is Shielding and cannot leave her home.  The card also worked perfectly for our challenge this week as the background is made using the 'K' die, I have to say that I love both the die and that lovely verse, can I ask  what make it is please Cheryl ??

Thank you so much for taking part in this weeks Challenge XXX

Maria

Maria has created a beautiful card with a Die Cut Background, perfect for this week's challenge,
I will add Maria's description below....

Maria's Description:

"I used Christina Griffiths Leaf Panel dies for the background,

attached to glitter card , light pink paper and then to card base.

Sue W. Sending hugs and a couple of small butterflies.

Hope you like it ?"

Maria I absolutely love your card that background die is lovely, I love the colour you have chosen too, it's bright and fresh looking.  Thank you so much for creating such a beautiful challenge card XXX

Janet

Three beautiful cards from our Janet for this weeks Die Cut Background Challenge.

The first card is a beautiful shaped card that Janet has die cut in white and a lovely metallic blue, such a lovely design, so different, I'm guessing that it's a Tonic Die.

Janet's second card features a Tonic die cut in the background, through which Janet has woven some  pretty pink ribbon and finished perfectly with some gorgeous hand made roses.

Janet's third and final card is a little more delicate than the previous card, although the die is similar in design, it has like the previous card, ribbon threaded through the die cut, another beautiful flower adorns the centre of the card, this one in delicate peach shades, what an absolutely stunning 90th Birthday gift this would be.

Thank you so much Janet for 3 outstandingly beautiful cards XXX

Sonia

Sonia had designed a stunning card for the die cut background challenge, I love the shape of this card, it also has so much intricate detail without being too busy.

Sonia's Description:
" I’ve used the Amazing Paper Grace ‘Cannetille Rectangle’ die set to complete my card. The flower is from Crafters Companion, and the LOTV sentiment is stamped on Sue Wilson’s ‘Pierced Flags’"

Thank you so much for designing such a stunning card for this weeks challenge Sonia XXX

Karen

Two completely different cards from Karen for the Die cut background challenge this week, the first card has an opulent die cut background.
The second card uses the Sue Wilson Lattice Background, which is the perfect backdrop for those hanging plants.

karen's Description:

"Here’s a new cc on an old style I have done before It’s a take on a Sue Wilson one
The background is 4 Becca Feakin Filigree Delights die cuts in gold linen card all overlapped You have to stick one half of the first one down so that after you’ve completely stuck down the other 3 you can place the piece of first one on top!
The sentiment is a freebie stamp embossed in gold"

Karen's second card uses the 'Hanging Planter' die set from Sizzix (which I really need), the plants are hanging in front of a die cut lattice background, the whole card is finished with a die cut frame and a sentiment.

Thank you so much Karen for two lovely Challenge cards XXX

Michele

I love the soft pastel colours of this lovely card that Michele has designed for this weeks challenge.

Michele's Description:

"Challenge card-I’d already started the base of this card thinking I could use it for one of the special requests but changed my mind! I used Creative Expressions Stitched square pegboard & Alphabet grid Dies for the background. The cake was from the Necessities Make a Cake Set. Some stickles glitter glue & gemstones to finish."

Such a lovely card perfect for so many different age groups, I mean who doesn't love cake?!
Thanks so much Michele for such a lovely challenge card XXX

  2. Morning Ladies

What an amazing selection of challenge cards today, they’ all gorgeous. I had great intentions of making more than one card but it just didn’t happen. My craft room get the sun on if from midday and it gets very warm in there.
I started a card yesterday afternoon but I was melting in my craft room for I went & sat outside as there was a lovely breeze.
We are our evening meal outside too.

Sandra-I know what you mean about watering everything -we have 3 water butts which are now empty and we’re also on a water meter.

Housework this morning then I must finish the card I started yesterday plus make a second one. Request from a colleague for 2 Thank You Cards.

  3. Today’s cards are lovely (as always ladies) I did struggle this week Hence my first card is a layout I have done many times before usually for anniversary cards in the appropriate colours eg Centura pearl card for 30th anniversaries I will keep this one for gold anniversary or I could use it for a birthday The second one I should have done portrait style or a bigger landscape style to really see the beautiful hanging planters
Our Zoom meet up went well 2 of my colleagues are slowly going back to their “proper” jobs So that leaves 2 more and me I honestly would like to stay where I am Obviously things may change again if the spike of covid-19 rises again significantly
I also had a long chat with daughter and a long chat with my sister in law who now she’s got headphones so that she can hear more clearly (long story) she didn’t stop talking!
I am still dithering over a crochet project So I started a new one instead!
    I don’t know what we’ll do today
Thanks for salad JANET but I don’t like cold chicken (love it hot in any combo) so I will pass today
    Take care all xxx

  5. Hi Sandra & ladies
Wow I’m totally blown away as usual with the cards that everyone’s done for the weeks challenge. Well done everyone. I’m also using water from the water butts too water my pots. Pete rigged up six butts. So hopefully that’ll now keep me going for awhile. I’m also on a water meter now. The house wasn’t on one so it was left as it was as we had a massive veg patch which Pete kept up. Now I no longer have that I’m saving a lot of money being on one, sound like you have a lot of veg in your garden now Sandra although I’m not too sure where it all is.
Chicken & salad sounds lovely Janet. It’ll make a lovely change. My publish button seems to have corrected itself, long may it continue.

  6. Morning ladies,

Oh my, we have certainly excelled ourselves today with the challenge cards. Not one using the same dies or sentiments.
I cannot choose one even if I had to. There are so many elements that have been perfectly used.

I took a break late yesterday afternoon from the last of my sewing. Tidying up my craft table I found the K die and stamp set. I'd obviously put them out for a reason sometime ago and didn't get around to create with them.
They are from 'Stamps by Me' Toni Darroch and they were one of my bargain buys from Craft Declutter. I also have the 'L' and am vey pleased with the results so looking now for other alphabets.

Enjoy your Sunday, I am taking time to relax and recharge.

    Love 7 hugs

  7. Hello all, very sunny, but also a stiff breeze, which keeps it cool.

A lovely lot of wowser cards this week, love them all, except mine, does anyone know how to colour inject printer images and the ink not run , printed these weeks ago but the ink still ran.

Love chicken and salad, especially if the chicken is hot, reminds me of when the children were small, on Sundays while they were at Sunday school I used to roast a chicken, and salad, pack the chicken still hot and off to beach we used to go, lovely memories.

Still clearing the site for our new shed which is coming tomorrow.

    Have a lovely Sunday, Lilian

  9. Hello Sandra and ladies,

What an amazing selection of Challenge Cards today and everyone so different, it’s a delight to open up the blog on Sunday’s (well it is every day, but Sunday is a real treat) such a wonderful selection of cards and inspiration to enjoy.

JANET the chicken salad sounds delicious, I debated what to have for our dinner went to the freezer to get out chicken and saw a small gammon joint in the draw. So at this moment the gammon is cooking any left will be eaten tomorrow. The chicken is still frozen and will be there for another day.

Had a busy day in the garden. The tomato plants have grown enough to be planted on, most have been planted in the greenhouse and six have gone outside as there wasn’t enough space in the greenhouse for them.

Have a lovely evening everyone. Love and hugs Brenda xxx
