Good Sunday Morning Ladies,
Well wasn't it breezy yesterday?! We had intermittent heavy showers too, which made gardening tricky, fortunately most of my jobs could be done inside, potting on Cauliflower, Sprouts, Purle Broccoli, marigolds etc. Paul managed to dig over the extra veg patch in preparation for planting out our Cauliflower, cabbage and broccoli.
The house is so quiet without the girls here, it seems odd as there is no background noise. They are having a lovely time on their own, they have been sharing their cooking with us, it's lovely seeing them be so independent, actually they have gained a lot more cooking experience since they have been at home during lockdown.
Sophie is a lot more experimental with herbs and spices, lucy prefers baking.
Anyway you have all come to look at some amazing Challenge cards so here we go....
Sonia
Sonia has made two amazing cards for our Circle Themed Challenge. The first is a brilliant Man card and the second is a beautiful Thank you card.
Sonia's Description:
"Here are my challenge cards
The first one I made for my Nephew’s Birthday. I stamped the grid background, and cut random sized circles and added the die cut guitars. Stamped the stars and added the sentiment. For my second card I used some of the backgrounds I’d created with my Gel plate.
Again I cut the different sized circles, butterfly and pierced flag. The sentiment is LOTV."
Thanks so much Sonia for two stunning Challenge cards. XXX

Janet has created 3 beautiful Challenge cards that all feature circles in different forms.
The first card features a beautiful stamped image of a girl with a gorgeous dress that Janet has coloured perfectly. The second card features a pretty dressform image, I love that dress! The last card features a Tonic die cut, it looms very 60's in style, that pretty background paper really enhances the die cut.
Janet's Description:
"1.My first CC is a Crafter's Companion stamp and I used Spectrum Noir pens to colour the image.
2. My second CC is made using a CD from Dolly Dimples called 'Dazzling Dresses'. the little flower and butterfly I made from air dry clay.
3. My last card for this week is made using a Tonic Die and the backing paper is from Phill Martin.
Thank you Janet for creating 3 stunning cards for this weeks Challenge XXX

Karen
Karen's Circle themed Challenge card was made using the Honey Doo 'Encircle' Background die, I love the contrast between that lovely background paper and the white die cut that highlights different parts of that background paper.
Karen's Description:
"Here’s a cc for you
It’s one of the die cuts you sent me with a Clarity Rainbow River 8x8 paper - it reminded me of bubbles! And that SW Happy Birthday die"A lovely fun card, love that background, thanks so much for taking part Karen XXX
Michele
Wow Michele I love both of your Circle Challenge cards for this week, I have to say though that the second card is one of your most beautiful cards ever!
Michele's Description:
"Two old cards for this week's Challenge.
First card made using a magazine freebie. Second card made using the well used Stamping Up set of Dies = Swirly scribbles."
Thank you so much Michele for two gorgeous Challenge cards XXX
Maria
Three beautiful cards from Maria for our Circle Challenge this week.
The image on your first card is just adorable Maria, adding the fern leaves really embellishes the main image, making the scalloped circle look like a flower. The image reminds me of 'Victoria Plum' which was around many years ago.
Your second and third card feature such soft, sweet colours, I love them both.
Maria's Description:
"1- sweet circle image sat on a another? circle with some fern from
magazine and a happy birthday greeting.
2- easy card with nine circles from a pack of papers I had for ever
and never used. Not sure for who therefore no sentiment yet.
3- Bokah circle card made for a special friend used oxide inks
for the background"
Thank you so much Maria for 3 gorgeous Challenge cards XXX

Lilian has made a very modern, mixed media style card for our Circle Challenge.

Morning Everyone
ReplyDeleteOh Ilove Sunday morning and seeing all our CCs.
Again so many 'takes' on the Challenge and lots of inspiration too,
We had extremely high winds and rain yesterday. The garden is looking so much better for the rain but oh my beautiful poppies roses are extremely battered. The wind is still with us but it has died down somewhat.
The CAFE is fully open as usual and Sunday lunch has lamb on the menu with lemon tart for afters.
HUGS are on their way to you all.PLEASE TAKE CARE AND STAY SAFE.xxxx
We also had strong winds and some rain yesterday.
DeleteMorning Ladies
ReplyDeleteAnother great selection of challenge cards today, all so different & some have given me some inspiration.
Yesterday was extremely windy, it’s eased slightly but it’s quite dull. I had fun in my craft room yesterday afternoon -moving + sorting boxes out. I always end up with the floor space cluttered so that’s what was sorted. I got a card request late yesterday for a 70th Birthday Card needed for Tuesday! I’m not sure even il be able to manage that!
Housework this morning then hopefully more time in my craft room plus a walk later.
Michele
Enjoy your walk later Michele.
DeleteOne of my favourite parts of the week is seeing everyone’s cards These are amazing ladies and with a few surprises too like LILIAN’s which seems a totally different style to your usual projects and MARIA cracking on with Distress Oxides
ReplyDeleteYesterday’s workshop was good - she went really slowly this time but it was a lovely way to relax and pass away a couple of hours
The Zoom meet-up went well (eventually) It was lovely to see them We are going to do it again next week just to get the latest office gossip if nothing else but we are going to do a quiz too as we’re all either working from home or in completely different teams
Another quiet day today - part 2 of the workshop and then some crochet as I’m working with black yarn I need to do it in daylight
Woke up yesterday morning with a very sore eye which I think might be a stye brewing - ho hum I haven’t had one of those since I was a child
Take care all xx
I’m glad you enjoyed your Zoom catch up Karen. And I hope your eye clears up soon.
DeleteHi Sandra & ladies
ReplyDeleteWow what a stunning array of cards today. Each & every one is different. I must say I really enjoy looking at everyone’s take on the weekly challenge. Even if my cards now don’t always fit the bill.
Maria Moorhouse’spack arrived for the next class. The plate that she used was one of the next set of floral sprays by Tina Cox. I already had a floral spray plate from a previous set she’d done. So I spent at least an 1/2hr looking for the plate. No sign of it in my sq plates. Finally found it in my oblong plates which I’d previously not even looked in. Very windy & dull here today and dull. I finished Groovi Shac No 3 yesterday, just need to put it together. In unable to find my white brads as the last time I was going to use them was at the craft class with Ronk. Now I can’t find them anywhere. Unable to buy any either. Not to sure if I’ll get them from China and do I want to wait that long for them.
Take care everyone & stay safe.
Hi everyone
ReplyDeleteLoving all of the beautiful cards today, they are stunning 😍
Glad you managed to get out in the garden yesterday Sandra, despite the weather. Was so windy here, but we only had one really heavy downpour in the afternoon.
Done a bit of crafting yesterday, but didn’t really achieve much, so went for a nap in the afternoon. Hopefully do some more today.
Hope you all have a lovely day. Hugs to all xxx
Hi Sandra and all in the Cafe today. So many beautiful cards to enjoy today. I love how we all come up with something different. I must mention Lilians mixed media card. You wouldn’t guess that this is your first one that is out if your comfort zone as it is gorgeous. Sonia it’s good to see one of your pretty great plate backgrounds too. It fits the challenge perfectly.
ReplyDeleteI should make it clear that the love sentiment is a separate die and the letters are cut along with the outside of it so you can change the colour of them as I have if you want a contrasting colour. Sadly I haven’t got a clue where I got that die from either!
The gales have died down to just occasional gusts today thank goodness. I hope you all have a good day. I am going to have a chat with Mum today as we didn’t manage it yesterday. Sending love and hugs to you all with extras for Lynda, Mum and all in need. Take care xx
Hello Sandra and ladies,
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic display of challenge cards they are all so inspiring, Love each and every single card. If anyone out there is looking for inspiration they should visit your blog on Sunday Sandra.
Sorry I didn’t get in yesterday, By the time I chatted to friends and family my day seem to have been swallowed up - and for not doing anything physical I was really really tired.
The girls sound as though they are coping well at Becca’s, now will they be home for Sunday roast or are they staying over a few more days?
Your day in the garden Yesterday sounds very productive. It is a lovely when we are able to eat our own grown vegetables. The taste is so much better than the supermarket products.
Enjoy the rest of your long weekend.
Take care and stay safe, Love Brenda xxx
Hello, very hot here after the very cold wind of yesterday. No rain
ReplyDeleteMy comment yesterday seems to have vanished.
What a lot of lovely cards everyone has made, I don’t usually pick out any but have say Pats groovi cards are amazing, only had one try and then gave up.
Been in the garden all day , just came in to get dinner, and have a sit down.
Have a good evening all . Lilian
Hi ladies,
ReplyDeleteFantastic display of CC's in the cafe'again.I Love them all.
As Brenda saying ,if anyone need some ideas they should pop in here on a Sunday.
Sound very nice with everything you and Paul are growing. Hopefully you will have a fabulous crop of everything you are planting and the same to all who are having a vegetable plot or green house.
I had Son helping me for a couple of hours yesterday trying to dig up a ground cover plant that have taken over a bit but it will come back because it's roots are everywhere.
Have not been doing much today other then a walk this morning, took some pain meds and then slept the day away. The late nights do catch up in the end.
Hope you all have had a good day and enjoy the evening.
Hugs to all,xxx
