Good Morning Ladies,
I hope that you are all well and ready for the weekend, not too sure about the weather for weekend, I think its not sunny but not raining either so fingers crossed all the local activities will still go ahead, I always feel so sad seeing them packing up their stalls a day early because nobody wants to go walking around May Day fairs in the rain. Our old village had a huge May Day fete with Police Dog Displays, car boot sales, lots of plant stalls to, so bargains to be had for everyone.
Sadly they don't have anything like that here, not until the Summer fete, which Paul and I both enjoyed walking around.
Today's card is one I made with some of the freebies in the New 'Chloe' magazine, it has a lot of free goodies...A lovely Embossing folder, a set of corner dies,a stamp set and a mask and lovely magazine full of inspiration, oh and a lovely collection of Pastel coloured papers. Well worth the cost of £12.99 , I will add a photo of it below.....
I loved the look of the card that was featured on the front and at first I thought ''oh thats a quick and simple card, boy was I wrong, I had foolishly thought that the flowers were cut out with the matching die set after stamping them, but no, everyone one of the flowers on that wreath consists of two layers, which meant I had to stamp 16 flowers in Clear ink, add sparkle embossing powder and heat set, then fussy cut them all out as the die doesn't fit, it was quite therapeutic though. The background was made by covering an 8 X 8 card with a piece of the striped papers from the set, I then had to die cut a two circle dies to make a round frame to use as a wreath to arrange the flowers around, I stuck that down with foam pads, then arranged the flowers around the circle. Oh I forgot to mention that I had to use a Fine Tip glue bottle to add little tiny blobs of dries clear around the flowers and the background and then add glitter all over, I blew away the excess and left it to dry, those little dots do add some lovely detail. To finish the card I stamped some leaves out onto Vellum and die cut them and arrange them around the wreath of flowers, I coloured the back of them with Granny Apple Green Watercolour pencils on the reverse of the leaves, then blended with wink of Stella sparkle pen.
I hope you like my card Ladies.
Next Week's Challenge
I thought that as the weather was a little dull and the Spring seems to have lost it's Sparkle, that it was up to us to change that dullness into a bright, shiny day by adding some sparkle to our cards!
So for the challenge I would like you to add some 'Sparkle' to your cards, you can use anything you like...…
Glitter
Sparkly Gem stones, sequins etc
Glitter glue/ink
Glitter card
Glitter card
I can't wait to see what cards you make with all of the glitter/sparkle products you have in your stash.
I am off to prepare for a weekend crafting at Danielle's, I am very excited, we plan to do lots of crafting together.
I hope you have a lovely weekend too, however you are spending it,
Love and hugs to all
Sandra

Morning Everyone
ReplyDeleteSANDRA a very pretty card with lots of lovely soft colours.
We're off to Market this morning though at the moment it will be with fleeces on as it's very misty and somewhat cold.
Yesterday was horrendous from getting up to going to bed it was cold cold cold and rain rain rain. such a contrast to Wednesday when it was totally at the other end of the spectrum.
It's our first Friday market of the year so will be interesting to see what's there and of course a dose of people watching always cheers doesn't it.
I'm hoping the plant man will be there as I need some plant for one or two of the smaller planters and of course as it's Friday it has to be a visit to the 'Cake' shop.
Have a good day everyone and your HUGS should just about be arriving with loads of extras for Dear Friends not up to the mark. Take care xxxx
Morning Ladies
ReplyDeleteSandra-beautiful Card, not sure I could have been so patient making a card though. Perfect card for next weeks challenge. Enjoy your weekend away.
Father in Law didn’t have his surgery because some numpty on the ward have him his mediation (via his feeding tube as he can’t swallow) on Wednesday evening so he couldn’t go to Theatre! He now has to wait until next Tuesday which means blocking a bed. My Dad phoned ranting about how much paperwork he’s getting related to Power if Attorney-no idea why he thinks it’s a problem but he certainly wasn’t happy!
Very glad it’s Friday and even better that’s it’s a long weekend-hurrah!
Michele
Pretty card SANDRA but boy! It seems a lot of hard work
ReplyDeleteI am so pleased it’s Friday and that we have a long weekend too Won’t be up to much but we are looking after Oscar on Sunday and he’s staying over - yippee!
Feeling a bit rough today - Not sure if it’s IBS or cystitis playing up
Take care all xxx

We aren't upto much today Terry is worn out doing three gardening jobs & four rubbish dumps over the last two day's he looked shattered yesterday when he got home. I told him it's too much for him now. He thinks he's young & spritly not a 72 almost 73 year O A P.❤️ Now he's out finishing of our back garden.
My feet & everything really painful today I don't like this getting old lark. I have a appointment with the doctors on the 7th so hopefully I'll get medication sorted.

Hi ladies.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card Sandra. I looked at this pack but it didn't come with me home as I bought another but think I will need this one too. Do the dies not work cutting the flowers out at all ? you did a great job .
Have a fab time at Danielle's, safe trip.
Very tired today, didn't sleep that well and think a lot of thoughts going around for new sister arriving tomorrow afternoon at Luton. It's her birthday too so going over later with a card, flowers and cake to neighbour who running the air B&B as a little surprise for her Lol
I hope you all have a good day as possible and Janet, the cakes were as good as usual. Keep warm ladies and sadly it look like the rain is going to be with us for the next week, typical when you like to do things outdoors. Glad we got a indoor shopping centre, Ikea and three garden centres. Also a visit in to London was asked for so hoping it stayed dry one day at least. Take care everyone, love and hugs Maria xx
Hello Sandra and ladies,
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful card you have created, I love all the pastel shades they really compliment each other. It’s a shame the die was not the same size, I think you have created a card anyone would be delighted to receive.xx
LYNDA Sorry to read you are in so much pain and discomfort. Tell Terry it’s OK to slow down a bit. He sounds like John, always has to be on the go, if there’s a job to be done he will carry on until it’s finished! xx
VAL Hope you enjoyed your craft group. xx
KAREN Sorry you are feeling rough, drink plenty, keep warm and rest - if you can,
then hopefully you will feel on top form when Oscar comes for his sleepover, give him a hug from me. xx
JANET Hope the Friday market was good and the plant man was there, Enjoy the people watching (great pastime) and of course the Friday treat that we all wait with baited breath to hear about. 🍰🍩🧁🍮🍪 now which one did you decide on? xx
Michele, Sorry FIL didn’t get his surgery, surely his appointed nurse or someone higher up should have put a note on his file. It really beggars belief how these mistakes happen. Hope you get the Power of Attorney for Dad sorted soon, I can’t remember having any problems when I sorted out my mums. She would have been in a dreadful state with the paperwork, she had Parkinson’s and could only make a childlike scribble at that point. I hope life settles down for you soon. Enjoy your extended weekend. xx
MARIA Enjoy your sisters visit, I’m sure the card and cake will go down well. xx
MARGARET, SUE, LILLIAN and PAT Thinking of you xx
SANDRA have a great crafting weekend with Danielle. What a daft thing for me to say - because I know you will Ha Ha. Will be thinking of you both xx
Enjoy your weekend everyone, shame the weather is not going to be a repeat of Easter Bank holiday, but for those of you who still go out to work it’s an extra day onto your weekend - Enjoy xx
Love Brenda xxx
