Fabulous Monday

 Good Monday Morning Lovely Friends,
Before I talk about todays card I would like the once again thank Saba (Barbara) for the incredible amount of work she put into producing the photographs and step by step instructions for yesterdays 'Izzy Bag' blog post.  I for one hugely appreciate the effort you went to and reading yesterdays blog posts, pretty much everyone else felt the same, so I hope you can feel the love!
Sheila (Ginger) If you look in today, please read some of the blog posts from yesterday, most of us have some idea of what you are going through and how tough life must feel at the moment.  We are all here to give you the love and support you need to help make the next few weeks and months a little more bearable. Please don't feel any pressure to comment, I just didn't want you to miss reading the lovely messages that have been left for you and Nikki.
Pat, I am so relieved that you are home and now well on the road to recovery, take it easy though, its easy to get carried away. Hopefully Sue and I will see you tomorrow.
Steph, I know you probably won't get to read this but just in case, I hope you are counting down the days until you are back home with Andy, I imagine he has been lost without you,  I hope you felt bright enough to do some more crafting.
I would also like to thank you all for 'Following' me yesterday, I am flying high at 16 followers! woo hoo!  Seriously though, I am just incredibly grateful that you all take the time to call in each day.
Right todays Card........
I wanted to use one of the new Anna Marie Designs Colours, so I went for this soft lilac colour, the new range of colours are gorgeous, sherbert hues of lemon, lilac, lime orange, blue, you name it, the shades are gorgeous.  I started with the Sue Wilson Background Die, cut out in white, I then cut a piece of the Lilac coloured card slightly larger than the background die, I then did a sneaky card save and cut out the middle size of the Californian Dies used for the focal element out of this background piece, I covered it with a double sided sticky sheet and covered that with Cosmic Shimmer Iced Snow for a bit of sparkle.  I put a large piece of double sided foam tape on the back of the white background die cut (as this bit will be covered by topper) I also added a little cosmic shimmer glue onto the adhesive foam as it was being stuck onto iced snow.  I layered the the two pieces together, adding
tiny bits of double sided adhesive to the edges for support.  I then used the Californian Collection Dies collection from Creative Expressions, designed of course by our very dear friend Sue Wilson to cut a series of layers of both the Lilac and White card to form the focal element of the card, ending with a lilac layer which had the Justrite Fabulous Day sentiment on it, stamped with Archival Black Ink and Embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Clear Detail Embossing Powder.
I layered these up using double sided adhesive foam tape.
I matted this whole section on to a slightly larger white Matt and then onto a pierced matt, another lilac and then onto a white card base that measured approximately 7 1/2 X 5 1/2 inches.
To finish the card I added a piece of White Tulle, which a cut and knotted, then a bow tied using White Seam Binding from Creative Expressions, I topped this with a flower which I made using the matching Lilac card from AMD but this time it is the Dotty card, the rose was made using the
instructions from that fab booklet I got from Pink Frog Crafts, at the show last weekend. I was quite pleased by how it turned out, I then added a few lilac pearls and two Stick Pins made from the new Creative Expressions range of embellishments and a couple of bits from my stash. However I will add that when I left the card the stick pins were pointing straight up, so I am not sure what happened between me leaving it and Paul photographing it, but use your imagination, I hadn't realised until I sat down to write this post. My thinking with this sentiment is that you could add one of Sue's pierced flag dies with 'Mum' on for Mothers Day, So it would say 'Mum Have a Fabulous Day' then maybe have Happy Mothers Day inside, but having just this sentiment means it is quite versatile.
Let me know what you think below.
How Would you all like to spend your Mother's Day, if you could choose the perfect day?
Well, here's hoping for a Happy, Healthy week ahead, filled with fun and laughter!
Love and Hugs to each and everyone of you!
Sandra

Coffee Shop Ladies I hope you are all well. If not I send you some (((((hugs)))))
Looks like I am first here ..... might be that by the time I finish this some one will already have been in. However I will pop the kettle on and open the box with the Teacakes so they are ready for the toaster.
SANDRA:- your card is a real beauty, a brilliant take on a Sue card. Your makes are just stunning, a card suitable for lots of occasions, I love it.
Unfortunately, our mum Died very young so no Mothers Day Card. I had the "worlds best" MIL she is dead as well. However I will be helping the boys make their Mothers Days Cards.
Busy day here, Monday is my Big Clean day when I go from one end of the house to the other. John helps by doing the Kitchen floor then disappearing to let me do things MY way!!
I will turfing him out of his bed when I finish this to get the bedding in the machine. Not very nice weather here at the moment, looks like it will be the Tumble Drier for the washing today.
Ok had my cuppa and Teacake, money is in the pot.
Will pop back later to see how everyone is getting on.
(((((hugs))))) in the basket by the door, please help yourself.

  2. Good morning Sandra. A flying visit this morning but just wanted to say how much I love your card today and the stickpins are amazing. Did you use the Britannia dies for the flower or something else?
Pat, Steph, Theresa - I hope that you all feel better each day. Sending special wishes to Sheila and Nikki and also to Michele and her friends.
Alison (Barbiepinkfairy), I'm pleased that you and Tilly have managed to get a great rail price to get to Ally Pally.
Thanks again Saba for the Izzy bag instructions and everyone for the laughs yesterday! Sue xxx

  3. Morning Sandra and all the lovely ladies. I've put subtle lighting on and the urn and I've put some bread ready for toast. Hope you don't mind, I've bought my duvet because it's cold outside! I've just got back from taking Julian to the airport, he's off to Manchester today. I've got a few minutes to drink a cup of tea before I'm off again to the station and then it's a busy morning ahead. Thank you for the splutter warning last night Sandra, it was needed. Thank goodness I don't drive a mini! Lol. Your card today is beautiful, I didn't get the Anne Marie new colour, they are beautiful aren't they and a lovely quality. The sentiment stamps really well doesn't it and your flower has turned out gorgeous. I was looking at my booklet yesterday but didn't get round to playing. Now don't get me started on droopy stick pins! (Gorgeous again by the way). I put some on Emma's birthday card last year at a pert 5 to 1 and after a few hours they were at 25 past 7! That was with glue dots, so I must investigate something stronger. I don't use them often, just for very special cards and ones that are handed over rather than posted. Hope you had a good nights sleep Pat and everyone else wakes up feeling bright and breezy this morning. I will pop back later to top up the urn, but must go now and stir a grumpy teenager! Take care everyone, I've put some hugs in the basket by the door if anyone needs one. Wrap up warm if you are out early. Love Diane xxx

    1. Morning Diane,
I use silicon glue for my flowers, bows & stick pins. Because the embellishments are then raised up slightly, the pins tend to stay put when placed into the silicone. But I always lay my cards flat for the glue to dry.

    3. Hi Diane I use a hot glue gun as I cannot stand the smell of silicone and it take so long to dry compared to the hot glue but you do have to be careful with your fingers! I have also tried Pinflair glue but that can go off and boy does it pong! Glue guns are cheap on Amazon by the way

Am up bright + early as I havd to get my car to the garage soon for a service & MOT.

Todays card is just stunning, I love the layers/details and the sparkle.

So far the weather here looks lovely but the Met Office say heavy rain due soon-hope they're wring as I plan to walk into Southport from the garage, do some non-food shopping then bus or train home with another short walk to the house. Ah well-if it rains I'll just come straight home and get crafting with some music on as hubby is away.

No more news on my friend so I'm keeping my fingers crossed he is peaceful & pain free.

Morning everyone - Thank you Patricia for opening up and sorting things out. Sandra I love love your card of today - your colour scheme -is a favourite of mine- just suits the dies you've used to their full advantage. All in all one fantastic card ready and waiting for any occasion.
I too use silicone glue when putting in hat pins. I also use glue on the back of foam mounted tape as it's one dread I have that someone takes their card out of the envelope and it falls apart. 'Belt and Bracers' as the old saying goes.
No Mothers' Day cards to make for me as I lost Mum 21 years ago as tomorrow. I still talk to her every day and when the need arises I sit half way up the stairs (there is a picture of four generations of us there; Mum. Me, my two lovely Girls, my Grandson and my middle Granddaughter) and all is well then. It is my comfort space.
Pat - I'm so pleased to hear you are back at home and following Sandra's words please take things easy for a while afterall you don't want to undo all the good the surgeon has done. Comfy chair; foot stool in place; coffee/tea and refreshments close at hand should be the order of the day.
Michele - my thoughts and my prayers are for you and your Friends today and I too hope he is peaceful and pain free.

Well It's going to be a big day today as I'm going to try and achieve a 'Izzy Bag' so please save a seat in a corner as I just know I'm going to need it. I shall be using Saba's tuition sheet so all should go well.

I've left my daily dose of hugs with Patricia's so please help yourselves.
This morning's latte tasted just right.

  8. Hi ladies,
After Hazel & Patricia's disappointment at the Glasgow a Show on the weekend I decided to go and look at the a Exhibitors List for Ally Pally, well the list us shorter, that's for sure, most of the usual Stands are there but there seems to be a but of a pattern, doing a bit of research I have worked out that a lot of the companies that are on that British Craft Network ....indigo Blu, Krafty Hands, Hougie Board, Ali's Inky fingers, for example are not at this years show but were there say year, it seems to be too much of a coincidence the other two big companies missing from this years show.....Crafters Companion & Pinflair!
I am quite surprised at Indigo Blu not going because Kay always used to do the big demo's in front of a big crowd (not just on her own stand)!
Most of the other popular names are there, Barbara Gray, Ali Reeve, inky
Inkyliscious, Anna Marie Designs, the Creative Expression Crew of course and our Sue on her Rubbernecker stand.
I don't quite understand why the companies from the internet craft channel are Not doing the shows, I will pop over to the NEC craft fair Exhibitors list to check if they are attending that one, it's pretty much the biggest show so I would be surprised if they weren't !
    Love & hugs

You just pop in and out as you feel up to it, I personally felt really strange and empty between my darling dad passing and his funeral, you almost feel lost, but once the incredible sadness of the funeral had passed and we had sent him on to be with his mum and dad it did kind if feel easier, like he was at peace. I know we all have totally different views and ways if dealing with things, you have to think about it in a way that suits you best.
As everyone has said, one day at a time is the only way, we will be here every one of those days my love, for you to laugh, cry, shout, or scream with.

  11. Hello Sandra,
My your card is beautiful, and the stick pins are gorgeous. The pins seem to follow the line of the background die, anyway it's all lovely.
I feel more like my own self today (oh, no I can hear you say. ~The girls are sorted and off to school, although when Eleanor was getting on the school bus she realised that we'd left her PE bag at her house, queue much gnashing and wailing of teeth because her teacher is extremely strict, so we had to dash back to her house, pick up the bag, and get to school before the bus. Easy peasy with George driving the jet mobile!!!
I'm in Zoe's class this afternoon sewing with them (8 and 9 year olds), there will be long lines of children waiting to have the knots taken out of their silks and their cross stitch put right - I can see it now. Happy days!
Saba - I can't decide whether you'd be a good Helga, Gerta or Gretchen, so much nicer than Barbara!! Do you wear your hair in plaits around your ears often? I think it's very becoming on you (I must stop this, you are a bad influence on me). I did mean to say yesterday when you did the wonderful tuition on the handbags, I love that vase - it's so pretty.
Pat, I am so glad you are back home, take care.
Steph, I hope you are soon "in the pink" and back with us.
Sam, good luck with the results and hope you get a date soon.
Cheryl, I hope you are OK. x
Well, the latte and toasted teacake are finished and there's no sign of Mrs B, so I'm off to Blood Pressure Alley (the supermarket) and will do some housework before lunch and the school volunteering. I've popped my money in the pot, and put the dishes in the dishwasher, although I did notice someone had left their champagne flute on the side so I've hand washed it (very nice crystal, Sandra) and put it safely away. Now, I wonder who had that?
Margaret, if you want a copy of Saba's fantastic instructions, just let me know, my e-mail address is on yesterday's post.

Oh Barbara, I will use your proper name as Maureen is confusing me with all these other ones, plus she has filled my head with all these pictures of you with your hair up in plaits is just to much. I hope you are not to stiff and sore today, at least you likely have cycle paths where here it's side roads that are cycle ways and they are the most dangerous place to ride a bike as they are rat runs for drivers, our villiage is a 20mph area, but the boy racers ( usually they aren't even boys) don't even slow down while going over the humps on the road. You don't often see children on their bikes round here - to dangerous. Hazel x

  16. Good morning dear Sandra and the coffee shoppers,
    *****************EPIC WARNING*** EPIC WARNING**********************
Sorry i have been AWOL but more after about that. This is going to seem that i have went right off my head but here goes.
Janet, i do not think very much to your Knit and Natter friends for their dispersions on your beautiful card that you went to all the work of making all of their components up for them, for them to start to complain about the difficulty or anything else about it as i think it is beautiful. The rose alone is a peace of beauty and intricacy to get it right and look like a true rose. I am just wondering whether there is any one of them has had to endure their horrible and frankly wrong aspersions. I wonder how they would like a taste of their own medicine on their K&N week?
Brenda, my mum would have loved your wee owl as between them and hedgehogs, she had a love of both. When ever there was a wee hedgehog injured, the children of the village would always take it to mum as she would nurse them back to health. She had made a couple of hutches especially for her returning hedgehogs that would come to hibernate each year. Mum's garden was not one of those posh pristine things, it was a definite nature inspired place(that anyone could go missing in without the ball of string to lead them back). Thank you flower for such a lovely cutie who is going to bring someone a lot of joy.
Janet, i'm back to you for the wee fella's cake and card and the blanket of love. I bet the wee lad's face was a picture when he seen his card and then his cracker of a cake. Getting a cake especially made just for him, it is a wonder he let it be cut to eat. You have made every wee 5-7 year old boys dream come true with the cake and card. Rory was a Lightening McQueen from Cars fan when he was that age. I had to paint him a desert with a blue sky with some sprigs of grass trying to come through the sand as Lightening McQueen raced through the desert. Rory loved his room as it went right around across his built in wardrobes the lot. I had better not give your wee grandson any ideas as your talents might just take you into a different kind of crafting. Your beautiful, stunning blanket, is a book i bought for the same reason as you, i thought the squares were absolute crackers. Yours has turned out stunning flower and since i have just received my book recently, it has made me want to make a start on my quilt. Did you do it in Aran to make the squares or DK as i think i am going to do mine in an Aran pure wool so that it has warmth as well as pure appeal and looks. How long did your blanket take you to do?

Oh Norah you don't know how good it is to have you back. I hope all is well with you now.
I knitted the bedspread in Aran which I bought from Deramore's site off the net. It's a classic Aran Cream and comes in 400gs balls. It took me 12months to knit 56 squares 12"x12" using Bamboo needles as they are light weight and warm to the touch. It then took 2 months to stitch them together; backed it with a king size cream sheet I bought from Primark and finished it off with cream satin ribbon. It was lovely to knit something beautiful again all because it was done in small manageable squares. Hope to see your quilt in the not too distant future. Hugs and many of them. Janet xx

Thank you for your kind comments about my owl. Your mums garden sounds like mine except I have about 6 foxes in it. I don't encourage them to live there.

  18. Saba (Barbara), thank you for the beautiful clear and concise pictures that you have produced for us as they are super clear to see and understand of Issy's stunning bags. You have made some beauties there yourself with the middle being my favourite as it matches almost a bag that my mum had when she went to the dancing. I made a sampler bag up for my friend the other day there and took it yesterday to give and her eyes were as big as saucers at it, so i think these are going to proof popular as something that bit different. Thank you Barbara flower for your stunning examples for our delight and that it truely is, a delight to see.
Oh Sandra, i love your card both for the colour scheme which isn't too bright and for the design. I love the French background die as it just looks so pretty to me. I tried to get some of the AMD's new card yesterday up at the SECC from them but they had totally sold every last pack, which that is ok as i bought some more card and 8x8 cards from Tim. I see you have managed to get Sue's messy bow off pat, me i can't get it some how. Did you have a lovely time seeing the girls play on Saturday although i hope it was dry as it was teeming down up here at the Wee County.
Right girls i need some suggestions here as how i can get my iron up as the blood pressure is rock bottom along with my iron and that is why i have been so completely innighalated these past number of days. As Hazel said the show was just wee this year but it still took me 4 goes to see most of the stalls in between coffee's, but i was shattered by the time i got home. I got down the first aisle before i had to go for a pick me up yesterday and so it went on but for me this time it was enough as it took me until 3pm to see what i did see. Thank goodness mum bought me the scooter because i wouldn't have stood a chance otherwise.
To the lovely Sheila and Nikki, sending my thoughts, prayers and hugs to you. I don't know what to say flower as i know how my mum and i were at my beloved daddy's passing , but stay strong and you will get through this horrible time.
Michele, i too hope that your friend is peaceful and pain free at the moment that he can enjoy this time. Sending him, his fiancee and you some hugs just because.
Sorry for the epic book today girls, and i will now go and sit in the dunces corner with my hat on and a latte and a big cream cake. Well i may as well be all bad :))
Brought my basketful of hugs of all shapes, sizes and occassions just waiting to be picked. Have a good day girls

    2. Oh Norah, my life now seems complete, I absolutely hate it when you are not around, but I dint feel like I should keep pestering you with emails, especially as you were so poorly, I do know that there are certain things you can take that help you absorb iron mire easily but there are also things that make it harder for you yo absorb iron too, so I will have a little research and get back to you, I only know this because Becca suffered quite badly with low iron, I distinctly remember telling us to avoid somthings, leave but with me, I will research and be right back,

    3. Norah, you need to rest!!! Your body won't remake that iron if you keep using it up. No rest, and they say red coloured foods and drink help to make iron, don't know if it works, but liver etc are meant to be full of iron, but Sandra is right often some foods deplete iron. Nice to see you back, you sit down and I will bring across what you would like to eat and drink. Hazel x

    4. Hello again Norah,
You need to be eating more citrus fruit, an orange or orange juice set breakfast can help you absorb more of the iron in fortified cereals etc, things like peppers and other vitamin c rich veg can help too.
Things to avoid are coffee and cocoa based drinks as these inhibit the absorption of iron. There us a wealth of information on line, but adding these things into Becca's daily dirt helped her with get naturally low iron, she like you was totally washed out all the time, I hope something helps to restore you to your normal lively self!

Welcome back, you have been so missed, so glad you are feeling a bit better and thank you for your lovely comments.
Is it iron deficiency anaemia that you have and Have you spoken to your Doctor about Iron supplements or even injections to get it sorted quickly. I had to have a course of the injections once and although not pleasant they really helped.
Otherwise spinach is rich in iron and liver.

  20. Good morning Sandra and ladies, I have been in for a while, but delayed chatting to those who are in already? Right I am helping myself to my usual tea and a crumpet with jam, I will put the money in the pot. Not into work this morning just as well as I didn't get up till just after 8. But then again I was up between 2-3 just couldn't sleep, but on saying that have the trouble was all what was going on in my head - trains, planes and automobile ! Yes I was thinking of ways to get to Ally Pally, but on reading this morning about a lot less stands going to be there it's maybe fate that we aren't going??? Sandra and ladies I was sitting here in the early hours trying not to laugh out load, I had tears running down my face? Sandra thank goodness you put up that "splutter warning". I just about wet myself!!., oh between that and Saba and " basting the duck". Well it was to much!!! Who else has a blog that gives you so much fun and laughter plus friendship??? 172 comments ok some where from yourself Sandra but not that many, you don't need a big followers list its the ones that call in all the time that matter. Oh nearly forgot - see got carried away. Your card is just stunningly gorgeous, they didn't have that gorgeous colour on their stand on Saturday or I would have had it, a visit to their website I think? I just love everything you have done to make this card so gorgeous. Right I'd better move, will be back later. Hazel x

    1. Hi Hazel, I know, I'd have loved to have gone to Ally Pally (never been before) but trains fares and time from Newcastle would have been too much and then overnight stay in hotel as I'd have never made it home that night. It's just out of the question. But as you say, if it's not so well attended this year, hey ho - it's not meant to be. BUT, wouldn't it have been fantastic for us all to meet up, can you imagine the noise and laughter, what a tonic that would be.

I would so live you all to come down to the show, even without the few that I mentioned, which apart from Indigo Blu, weren't there in October it was still a good show, plenty of Stamping companies and of course a lot selling all the dies, paper pads, card, inks. Well you name it, but it us all paper crafting, which is better I think.
I do have a spare room, two most of time so anyone wanting to come, could always stay in our madhouse and travel to show with us!

  21. Hi NORAH
How Truly Wonderful to hear from you again,
SANDRA, do you think with "Ally Pally" not everyone has confirmed as yet, I know my Craft Leader used to go there but apparently The Rents of the site became too expensive and possibly because IndigoBlu aren't on Create and Craft as much things are tough for them?
My Craft Leader holds two small shows a year with around 26 Exhibitors going and like Ally Pally it's got a great seating area whereas
The Large one that Stephanie Weightman does its crammed very difficult to get round there's been lots of complaints, but she doesn't care as long as the money comes in, she and Nancy Watts do a workshop for about four hours which cost £70:00 I went the first year the show came to Doncaster Never Ever Again!!!!!!
My Craft Leader has been doing her show for about Eleven Years and
Barbara Gray always supported her she had a really large stand and when Create and Craft and Stephanie came to Doncaster she said she wouldn't do that show as she does my Leaders Craft Show until this year and she's not doing it!
I feel for my Craft Leader as the big companies have got so much more pull, and Barbara was great for my Craft Leaders show, and I know my Craft Leader will worry about her numbers being down, but she doesn't wish to cram to many Exhibitors in a not very big hall she wishes people to be able to get around in scooters or wheel chairs etc:
I've tried to check out the Exibitors List for Summer Crafts and it's not available as yet!!!
    Take care all
    Love from Sam xxx

  23. Hi Sandra,
I know it's 11 30am but it's taken me ages to read everything and being a Nosey Parker don't like to miss anything!
First of all today's card - it is beautiful Sandra - really gorgeous and I loved the card when they showed it on C&C . However the packs were so huge I decided against buying but I will check out the website. The shades tone well with the CE foundation card too. Your stick pins and flower are gorgeous - you should not have mentioned the jaunty angle as being a fault as it looks lovely! It's a real Sue style card.
    Where do I go next!
Saba / Barbara - I have been in stitches at you with your hair wound round your ears! I felt guilty as I called you Daisy yesterday on "your bicycle made for two" .
Maureen - it's an old song - even older than Orville!
Norah - how lovely to have you back! We have missed you and get that dunces hat off! So pleased you were able to go to the SECC but sorry you are feeling so weak - no wonder! Hope you can get some Iron very soon.
Sheila - How lovely to hear from you. Words at times like this are hard to get right! We do genuinely think of you and Nikki daily and you are both in my thoughts and prayers. So glad Nikki understands about Heaven as that will really help her. Sending you both love and hugs. Pleased we made you smile or even titter!
Pat - hope you've had a good night's rest . I'm sure the coffee tastes much better here than in hospital.
Allison - so pleased you got a good deal to go to Ally Pally. I couldn't really justify the expense just now as I too would have to stay overnight and my husband is not a cook so I have to think about him. Mind you he could survive on bacon sandwiches for two days?! That's his level of expertise. I hope Tilly and you have a super time.
Steph - we are incomplete without you! Hope you are nearly at the stage of getting home. Sending hugs to you.
Michelle - I fear you may hve got wet as the rain came on with a vengeance here and we're not far away! Enjoy your crafting. Hugs to you and your friends. Hope he is comfortable.
I'm putting it in black and white - it wasn't Myra who had the Champagne! Wish it had been lol!
I must go as today is crafting with children day! Be thinking of you Maureen - we'll be making gifts for Mother's Day.
Thanks for the coffees - been here so long had a refill. Put extra money in the box.
    Love to all, for now,
    Myra xxxxx

  24. Hello Sandra,
Love today's card, the colours stickpins it all just coordinate so beautifully.yes, it would make a great Mother's Day card. Unfortunately my mother died in 1999 just 6 hours short of the millennium. And she would really love this card.
Anyway I do get help the grandchildren make cards for there mothers, and that is always fun.
NORAH, it was so lovely to see you up there, you just sit quietly and anything you want we will bring over to you LOL
Sheila, What a brave step you have taken and I am sure one of many WELCOME TO THE COFFEE SHOP. We are all here for you. Just come in and sit down, you are with friends (allbeit virtual) there is a table near the window where you can sit, no one will bother you, Unless you want us to. LOL

    1. God heavens that an exhausting afternoon if ever I have heard one!
How very sad that your mum, made it so close to the new year but couldn't hold on any longer, I always feel it's harder when someone passes so close to a memorable date, as it sometimes becomes difficult to celebrate that day each year, we list my dad whilst we were on a camping holiday in Spain, we were expecting a call from my sister as she was going to give Matt (my son) his GCSE results, the call came the morning we were expecting, although a little early, it was also the day before Matt's birthday, I answered my phone expecting good news only to hear my duster tell me that dad had died in the night. He had a couple of health issues but nothing that made us even consider him leaving us, but unfortunately, he had a Coronary Heart attack, so despite my poor little sister trying to revive him there was no chance she could of, she was only 19 bless her!
So now every time we go away, it always comes to mind, it also makes you make sure you say your proper goodbyes before you go anywhere !
You make sure you rest later my lovely,
      Hugs

  26. Hello again ladies,
I just wanted to confirm that all the companies I mentioned thus morning that are members of that British Craft Network Channel are not at the big Hobbycraft show in Birmingham either, although Pinflair and Crafters companion are, Debbie More isn't at the Nec either, which is very unusual, I wonder what us going on? It seems more than coincidence to me that all the companies on that channel were at Ally Pally last year, but none of them are doing any shows thus year, I know that Create and Craft have a big presence at the NEC show but they do t run it,I would hate to think that they have enough influence to prevent those companies exhibiting! I would love to find out as I know from reading a huge post on another site that Create and Craft had said that nobody with a connection to the BCN channel would be allowed to exhibit at British Summer a Crafting Show, it just makes me wonder that as they promote/sell tickets to the NEC show and broadcast live from their that they have said 'if they come we won't "
I wouldn't put it past them, they clearly can't take a bit of healthy competition!
I would live to hear your thoughts.

    2. Sandra, I heard that at the SECC the cost of a stall was a lot more expensive than before. One of our crafters who decorates goose eggs ( like Faberge) usually goes, with a friend and they only demonstrate their craft not selling anything, the cost of a 6' by 4' foot space was well over £2000 for the 4 days. If they wanted an electricity point that was extra as well! Maybe the same thing is happening at all the exhibition centers! Jess x

    3. Sandra, I really wonder what in heavens name is going on in the Crafting World. That's not good that some are not even going to Ally Pally and NEC. Hazel and I had already made up our minds about not bothering with Birmingham this year, we have been the last 2 years.

    4. Sandra, Sometimes I wonder what is happening in crafting circles. Craft has become a big industry but if they lose the loyalty of the customer they'll be in big trouble! It's the problem of greed again isn't it. Why should C&C' be so chuffed to win best crafting channel ? There's no real competition! It's sad really.
I have learned more about good crafting products on this Blog than I ever did from C&C . It's lovely being able to share our favourite products. It's lovely.

  29. HI everyone, such a miserable day I need a something sweet, like hot chocolate and cake...OK I know I should get in shape, but round is a shape, isn't it?
Such a lovely card, Sandra. You are very talented.
I really need to go and make a Mothers day card for my Mother in Law, but I am struggling. I lost my Mum 2 years ago last week, had her funeral the day after Mother's day, so it still hurts.
Re the craft shows, well, C&C could have that power, the tourist board used to do it...if you don't join us you can't advertise in this or that publication. They can refuse to have someone on their show etc. Personally I think they are far too big.
I know many years ago SECC did not only charge you for the space, but for carpet, table, chair, electric, etc, and it all added up quickly.
See your numbers are up further today, Sandra.
By the way, last night I went back to the beginning of your blog...oh dear, I went to bed at 12.30 and still have a year to go. I think I am more confused than ever though, the insanity is obviously not just temporary. (You are awful...But I like it)

  30. Good afternoon Sandra & ladies,Yesterday was so busy, what with still clearing out some of my clutter from my desk station and then unpacking my new craft cupboard and assembling it. Jamie and I agreed this was the best way to start because, its on castors so would be easier to move than moving the boxes all over the room. Result is 2/3 ceiling done and skirting board. I have had to replace 3 sections of the lining paper as once the bookcases went, we noticed there was a bit of a problem behind them. That will be ready for painting Wednesday. I prefer to let it dry at least 2 days before painting. My walls are over a hundred years old so the surface is not good enough just to paint.
Painting tomorrow, allow for drying time then craft cupboard can go in its chosen place then we can dismantle the desk and decorate those two walls, then we will be finished except for storing all my crafting bits and bobs in their new home. Next week I will be making Izzy bags in my new playroom. Yay!!!
I only popped in last night to catch up with the chat but you'd all gone home, so I had an early night instead. Probably what I needed.

Sandra your card as always is divine, love the colour combo and the stick pins? WOW.so classy.

Such a stunning card today. I suppose you had to order the card direct from AMD as they didn't have any at the show, they'd sold out on Friday. Hi Marie
Thanks for the well wishes. Still feeling yucky today, so I'm unable to start crafting. Hopefully Sandra and Sauevwill visit tomorrow for a chat. I'm not up to long visits yet. No sitting for long apparently no standing for long and plenty of bed rest doing exercises. I've never been a person to really exercise but did like to walk, especially on holiday. I can't read all the comments as my brain is very much still mush, everything goes in but it doesn't remember anything. Hope that goes away fairly soon.

Isn't predictive text wonderful. Just been looking back and already today we have Sandra giving Becca her daily dirt to eat, Maria has a lively son and I have the sun "high listing" my dust and they are only the ones I spotted. Mind you maybe Maria does have a lively son.
Jess, do you have a Google account? I think to follow Sandra you have to have one. If not when you press the join this site, instead of giving your email and a password, click on the create an account a bit lower down. Once you have got an account you should then be able to follow Sandra. Think that might be the problem.
    Be back later
    Hugs Saba

I am following Sandra with my email address I think. Will see how that works, terrible to be so stupid!

  33. Good afternoon Sandra and all the lovely ladies.
Mind you it's nearly evening, I stopped by to read the comments and have a quick cuppa and it's now nearly 6 o'clock! Mind you I have had a good chuckle!!!
Norah lovely to see you back, hope you are enjoying your sprout and liver cake! I know you shouldn't take iron tablets with tea or coffee as they stop the iron being absorbed so orange juice is better. Mind you, take care with iron tablets as they can make you constipated! Your doctor should tell you things like that though. ( had to take iron tablets when I was pregnant.) wish I could send you some sunshine too because that would help a bit in sure but it's been raining here all day. Xxx
Michelle hope you didn't get too wet today and your car passed it's mot. Sending you a big hug, my thoughts are with you and your friends xxx
Sheila lovely to see you in the cafe, my thoughts and prayers are with you and Nikki, sending a big hug to you both.
Cheryl and Sandra thank you for the tip on the silicon glue/ pinflair glue - there's nothing worse than droopy stick pins so I will try that.thank you xxx oh yes and Cheryl your craft room sounds lovely.
Margaret I hope your corgi is ok. Xxx
Oh goodness, I think I need a list like Wendy (what a fab idea) especially when I'm being co fussed by Gretta, Daisy and Saba and I'm sure Princess Leya got in there too! ( now spell check is confusing me by auto correcting!!!) . Alison has got tickets to Ally Pally, it's too far for Hazel and Patricia (sisters) and too expensive and too far for Myra. Brenda has been so busy she will meet herself coming back and Maria and Barbiepinkfairy have tried to do hoovering but haven't managed it. Now someone was singing in the corner, was that Jess or Wendy and Myra went to bed with a glass or bottle of red wine so perhaps it was Jess or Wendy on the champers late at night. Sam is talking to her dogs in the corner and little lamb is there too. Janice round is a lovely shape, who wants pointy bits anyway. I'm sure I have missed a few of you so I'm sorry I must write names down!!! Hope everyone behaves themselves tonight. It is so good reading back and having a good chuckle over the comments. I have been told I have a wicked sense of humour but I can see there are a few of us on here so I feel right at home. It's good to have a laugh isn't it. Right must go and put dinner on, will try to call back later, don't worry Myra I won't lock you in again! Will have to have an early night I think as my day started at 5.15 when the alarm went off!
See you all later, love Diane xxxx

    3. Hi Diane,
I don't know ! I pop out for the afternoon to craft with some children and come home to news that I went to bed with a bottle of red wine last night! How did we get there - not to bed - I go upstairs to that - I mean me drinking red wine! it's a foul slur ! You see I can't have red wine because of migraines . Champagne or white no problem!
      I'd better investigate further! Lol!
      Lots of love,
      Myra xx

Who went to bed with the red wine then? Was that Saba???? Right so now we know you are Patsy from Ad Fab with the 'time for Bolly darling?'!!! . Sandra I think we need a wine fridge in here! Xxx

    11. Hi girls, well my pointy bits still point straight out despite being a e cup but that is only because my cousins' wife yelped in my ear when I was "9 "mark you, that I needed an over the shoulder bolster holder and I needed to keep it on 24/7. This wumin has hands as big as shovels and wasn't afraid to use them on a frequent basis. Mum was in and out if hospital and at that crucial point poor mum was in getting her kidney out and Anne took matters into her own hands that I needed taken into hand as I wasnt a wee girl anymore(32aa). I stayed that size right up until Kirsten was born when I went up to the grand size of 34c, at which I thought I was a supermodel. So to this day my bolster holder still is on at night time as Rory was my pointy bits explosion cause at being 38ff at day of his birth. I am going to take my pointy bits off to reguvenate now so night night, sleep tight everyone

I've just looked back at yesterday's comments because Brenda said her tortoise was awake. How lovely Brenda, my sister looks after the family tortoise now , he was a stray when I was two and my mum rescued him as he was going to be dumped on a common just as he was about to hibernate. My sister sent me a picture the other day to say Fred, our tortoise was awake- he hibernates indoors now because last year he didn't eat enough and the vet said he must be kept awake- you try telling a tortoise that! He comes to stay with us when my sister goes on holiday and he's quite a character . He's always been Fred, but he started to lay eggs 10 years ago so really she is a Freada but after 40 years a names sticks so Fred it is. My dad used to moan about Fred until he found out how much it cost to buy one then it was have this lovely thistle Fred, let me polish your shell Fred! Lol. He's outlived both mum and dad , let's hope my sister and I can keep going longer than him!!!
Right I must go now see you later. Diane xxxxx

  36. Oh dear, here we go again.
Myra, it was Maureen started it all off. She found a champagne flute by the dishwasher when she was tidying up and wondered who left it there. I don't think she was cross, more intrigued as to who it was. Well, I told her Maria was the last one in and she was obviously squiffy as she took a basting duck to bed. Now Maria has openly admitted to having red wine but strongly denies drinking the champagne, says the bubbles tickle her or something. Diane has been casting the aspersions your way telling the whole world you take a bottle of wine to bed with you, not only that but poor Jess and Wendy are being blamed for the champagne. Now if you ask me, it was Cheryl. She mentioned she pept in late and nobody was home, so that's where I'm putting my money.
Mind you, you have admitted you like a white wine and champagne, so maybe it was you after all.
    The mystery deepens.

  37. THAT'S IT, NEVER AGAIN. TRIED TO POST TWO MEGA LONG MESSAGES and they've disappeared into cyber space. I've been on ages so I'm going off in the huff to have a good cry.
WENDY, I tried to tell you what I had found out about the ladies so that we know what we are talking about. I'm going to shorten the post in case I lose it again - and if I do, that's it, I'm supposed to be having a bath instead of typing and re-typing.
SANDRA our esteemed leader with pointy bits and she doesn't have tuppence to keep body and soul together, or did she say that she had tuppence.
    LITTLELAMB is Brenda
    BRENDA is Brenda
SABA could be Gerta, or Barbara and she likes sailing, but doesn't like cycling and likes to wear her hair in very old fashioned styles lol!!
    THERESA likes Cruises
BARBIEPINKFAIRY is Alison (I think she could be a nurse, but I'm not sure)
MARGARET CORGI OWNER is Margaret who has Corgis.
SAM SMITHARD is a very nice lady called Sam
CHERYL BROWN is a very nice lady called Cheryl
PAT S WITNEY has been in hospital for an operation, but is back home and even better, is back on the blog
STEPH is in hospital where they are treating her and trying to get her meds sorted.
NORAH has been poorly and away but is back with her stories
MYRA and MARIA are one and the same person who try to confuse me by pretending they aren't and that one likes Red Wine and the other likes Champagne, but I'm sure they are one person with a split personality!!!! (Oops sounds like me).
Well Wendy, I'll let you absorb this. I'd be glad of your input and we've still got Jess, Diane, Jacqui, Janet, Janice Lynda, CraftySuetoo to sort out. I bet I've missed someone out.

No wonder your message went into the wide blue yonder! There is justice after all!
I don't know what Maria will have to say about this Maria Alder is younger than me! At least I think so the way you go on - most people must be younger than me! Alder is the way older is pronounced in Scotland now and again! It is also a tree but that has nothing to do with anything!
So the older one - who is not called Alder is signing out! Confused.com.

Well Sandra the wanderer is wandering off again on Wednesday until the end of the month. Can't believe it. Won't be here on Mothers Day but it is not Mother's Day in Brazil apparently. Had a nice lunch with a friend and got a top in the EAST sale. It was very cold out today though. Hope everyone is ok and it's good to see Pat and Norah back. Hope Steph will be back soon. Week I hadn't better have a hot chocolate as you say with low iron you shouldn't have cocoa - does that include hot chocolate. I suppose it does. Well I suppose this once I can have one and I do find having a milky drink before bedtime helps me to sleep. Goodnight all.

  46. Hi Sandra and all who call in to the best coffee shop there is,
Sorry to be late but our internet is on and off like flipper kipper, when I get time I will be making a phone call!
I had to take Tomas to the vets this morning, he has a cornea ulcer bless him if he is away from his sister Amy they both fret so it was not a happy morning for them. We have got some gel drops to put in four times a day so fingers crossed they work.
Well I got home and had to start a marathon bake, my little grandson's class are having an ancient Greek day they are all dressing up and having a Greek feast, so he asked me if I would make the bread for it! So there are 30 white rolls 30 wholemeal rolls and 31 fruit rolls Don't know why I got 1 extra! They were all baked in sandwich tins so they are like a tear and share breads, I then had to collect him from drama club he has been given not one but two parts in the play so is delighted with his little self!
Michelle you and your friends are in my thoughts each day I do hope he is peaceful and pain free bless him.
Brenda I do so agree with your husband, when you retire you really do work harder!
I shall post this before I loose it then have a read at all the comments while I have my usual latte, thank you Sandra my money is in the pot.
I agree with Saba I too think it was Cheryl that left that glass!!! ha ha
Norah wonderful to see you back sweetheart, we have so missed you, your corner looked so empty without you sitting there having a little chuckle and a latte,
Shelia so lovely of you to pop in today, thinking of you and your lovely Nikki each and every day sweetheart, we are here for you when you are ready so don't worry just take things a day at a time.

    1. Hi Margaret,
Sorry to hear about poor little Tomas, is he in pain with it? it sounds very painful bless him, I hope the drops work fast, although getting them In maybe a challenge! Milo and Bella don't like being parted either, Milo is the worst he cries like a girl If he can't find her, so you have to take him to look for her. When she came back from her spay surgery she must have smelt different as he treated her like a stranger, but they soon got back to normal! I would have never thought a year ago that these little rascals would have carved such a huge place in our hearts. so I know exactly how worried you must have been this morning.
That was a baking marathon and a half, I hope you have a mixer with a dough hook or your arm will be killing you tomorrow. The Greek day sounds like a fab idea, what is Ben going as?
I hope you haven't had to make the costumes too!
I have baked some Digger Bars which are like flapjack but with a little flour in and coconut, it is a recipe from the Hairy Bikers mum knows best book, there are some lovely recipes in there. I also made a carrot and orange cake, it smells yummy, the icing is made simply by added the squeezed juice of an orange to icing sugar so it is a little lighter than the cream cheese icing that you usually have on carrot cake.
Will I had better go and hide it all away or else it will be gone by the morning!
      Love and hugs,
      Sandra xxxx
