Good Morning Ladies,Wow what a wild and windy weekend, I hope that everything is calm for Janet's Channel Crossing
this morning.
Todays card was inspired by the colours of the beautiful beads in the Sue Wilson Stick Pin Collection, all of the colours are so delicate and pretty and match such a range of card colours.
I used a combination of the two sets of the Noble Rectangle Dies by creative Expressions to create the layers. I used the Grand Sentiments from Justrite for the Sentiment, the ribbon I used for the bow is Sideshow Rose again by CE, I then added some complimentary pearls and two Stick pins from Sue Wilson's new range, they are gorgeous!
Using the largest of the Noble Rectangles to make the card base, I cut an existing 10 x 8 card by placing the very edge of the die over the spine of the card and ran it through the machine, I cut another single die cut of this size to Matt over the top and then built the card up from there.
I love the shape of the card, I just gives a bit more interest, what do you think?
Well I went to Poundworld yesterday to get my magnetic sheets, while I was in there i noticed they had packs of 3 reels of double sided foam tape, I have used this before and it is super sticky, I always add a little cosmic shimmer glue to it before the final positioning as it gives a little extra wiggle time, believe me when this stuff sticks there is no getting it off ! So that's my .....
Bargain Basement Deal..... 3 Rolls of double sided foam tape.....£1
Also they had Craft Knives, three different handles and many different shaped blades £1
Both @ Poundworld !
Please remember to let me know about your bargains, should you find them!
Who left a cat in the Cafe last night, health & safety will be shutting us down!
I'll be in later to find out who's responsible!
Love & hugs

Ps could someone pick up some kitty litter on their way in!
Good morning Sandra and ladies. Well I am first in so I will set up for the day. Sorry no cat litter, but have left a box of cat food, always usually have a box in the car, Gillian or work often ask me to bring in some, so I find it easier to just have a box in the boot? Can't have the poor cats go hungry.
ReplyDeleteSandra, your card is stunningly gorgeous! Just love everything about it.
Sam, Thersea and Alison I hope you are all ok ? ((((((Hugs)))))) in the basket to help.
Brenda, ( littlelamb) I hope you let us see your bag? They are addictive by the way, I think as they are easy to cut, put together and you can decorate for all kinds of occasions.
Saba, glad Oliver entertained everyone at the church, children of that age do get away with it, so taking him back next week will be ok.
Diane, you said you were going to tell us all about your posh afternoon tea? What happened is the coffee shop set up not up to your new standard, do we all have to dress posh now??? Or was it like when Patricia and John went to Glenegles? They felt over dressed, standards are sliping these days. Then again we don't want to be bringing the evening gowns with us to the retreat? Do we ?they take up valuable craft stuff space!!! Oh well that's everything ready for the day, now I have to think about going to work and getting Anna out of her bed, that girl didn't sleep much as a baby, but boy can she sleep now!!. Beth is away with mum up to Aberdeen, it's a day of Shetland pony racing practice for Beth, so guess who will be one grumpy child tomorrow? Roll on Wednesday night and I am off duty for 10 days.
Norah glad I got it right will e-mail you later.
Enjoy the batch for fresh baked Hot X Buns? No I didn't bake them, Tesco did.
Hazel x
Oh Nice Buns Hazel!
DeleteThanks for popping in and leaving such an uplifting comment on my card. Hazel, nobody deserves that break more than you do, you so go over and above your duties almost everyday, I will be heaving a huge sigh of relief for you on Wednesday !
They certainly are a family that are involved in anything and everything!
I so hope that Norah can make your meet up for coffee, it may help her make up her mind about Our retreat, Norah is such a huge part of our blog, I have this mental image of her sat all comfy on a large sofa and we are all sat around comfy in our pj's, leaning against Norah or sat beside her legs on comfy cushions on the floor and Norah is telling us all her amazing stories, it's one of those perfect thoughts, of an idyllic scene, one day I hope it will be reality!
Enough of my day dreaming!
Must go, said I would do some baking with my girls today, we are going to make Brownies! I will do an en extra batch and pop them in the display counter alongside Hazels Buns!
Love & hugs
Sandra xxx
Meet up all organised for next Wednesday, so looking forward to it, Sue ( mrs B). Will look for comfy chairs just incase we are there for a while, my leg plays up and very painfull on hard chairs as it is. Hazel x
DeleteMorning Ladies
ReplyDeleteSandra-thats such a beautiful card. I'm thinking I need more Sue Wilson dies! One day i'll send pictures of how much is already squashed into my tiny craft room.
Wild & very windy day-almost glad I'm going into work wven if it will be a crazy busy one. All 4 days will be along with the 4 days after Easter.
Worked on the Baby book to go to the USA last night which has made me want to do more to it so thats a project for Easter, along with some gardening.
Right-will leave you all to cause chaos in the cafe & I'll pop back in this evening.
Michele
Hi Michele,
DeleteI hope you are well sweetheart, you had quite a week last, do I am hoping this one will be a little less eventful. The weather is just frustratingly rubbish, why can it be warm and sunny so that we can just get outside in the fresh air!
I can't wait to see this Baby book so please remember to take lots of photos as you go along, so that we can watch it evolve with you!
Hopefully see you in again later on, try and have a fun day today,
Love and hugs.

Morning Quite an early start for me as OH usually drops me off at the cafe at this time and the office doesn't open until 8 No cat litter sorry - will pop into shop next door Your card is devine I have my eye on the Noble Rectangles but I really can't warrant buying them at mo I'm trying to be good before Ally Pally and not spend at mo I know dies aren't necessarily cheaper but it's good to take a look at the stuff My main reason for going is to get CE card coz apart from winning a JL card (I know! How lucky am I) I've only ever seen it on screen Will prob end up getting tons of stuff Plastic at the ready too Bright sunshine here I wonder how long that will last!
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Karen,
DeleteDid I read that right, you are going to Ally Pally? Are you going on the Saturday? I hope so as some of us are hoping to meet up, would be good to meet you too!
We haven't yet decided weather to wear a rose in our lapels or a 'Sue Classic Bow' in our hair, we want to be easily spotted by our cafe sisters!
There are a good few of us going......myself,Lynda, Maria,Brenda Lello, Brenda (little lamb), Sue (mrs b), Pat(witney), Sue's lovely mum too!
I am hoping that Alison (Barbie pink fairy) is coming too, we are all going on the Saturday, I personally think it's the better day to go as the stall holders aren't wanting to get packed up like they would be on the Sunday when the whole show finishes at four, also a lot of the exhibitors have special deals on for the weekend but they run out as soon as the stock is used up so they often finish the deals on the Saturday too, I also imagine that it is super busy on the Sunday. I am in a wheelchair, so I appreciate all the space I can get.
Like you I am going with a long list, a good tip is to write your list and do a comparison of prices with somewhere we all use like Icon uk., that way you have an idea of a good price point, this helps immensely when looking for a good deal at the show.
Well that was all a bit long winded, sorry about that!
I really am looking forward to meeting you!
Love and hugs
Sandra xxx
I'm going on the Sunday - shame My lift wanted to go then (I don't drive) I expect a lot of the stuff will have gone but last year (1st time I was an Ally Pally virgin!) we still managed to bag a few bargains Thanks for the tip re icon I use them all of the time
DeleteGood morning Sandra and all the Coffee Shop Ladies.
ReplyDeleteGlad I was not first in and found that cat........!!
I will certainly have one of the Hot Cross Buns Hazel I love them. Made myself a cuppa, will have a quick chat with Sis then I really must get the housework done while the sun is shining.
Well Sandra:- that is one stunning card, I just LOVE everything you have done on it.
Sending (((((hugs))))) for all who need them today. Hope you feel a bit better as the day goes on.
Right ladies that's me done for now. If I get time I will be back for some Soup & a Sandwich at lunchtime. If not I will see you in the evening.
Will leave a basket of (((((hugs))))) by the door please help yourselves.
Bye for now
Patricia xxx
Morning all from a cold windy Lancashire. Now im not sure if these animals of our's feel the loss of that hour or not, but our mutt slept in until 6.18 this morning ! My body clock is normally set for 5ish so to have an extra hour was luxury ! Although with all the extra traffic at that time, walkies was a little more nerve racking for her !
ReplyDeleteHow did that cat get in ? I thought I could smell that awful tom cat PP, just thought someone had used some glue that had gone off lol.
OMG Sandra you bought back memories of sheer panic I had last week ! Just about to add a lovely embossed mat of rows of bows to one of the order's and it slipped from my stupid 'bleep bleep' fingers ! HELP I screamed lol, poor Andy nearly had pup's lol, get this off CAREFULLY I screamed lol, its bleep bleep stuck to my finger too, NO DONT JUST PULL IT I yelled almost in tears lol, "well what the bleep bleep do you want me to do" replies poor Andy, just try and save this peice of card so I dont have to start again (as it was obviously the last mat that was going to hold the main element and focal point) anyway, eventually I got free from the mounting foam and we managed to save my blush card that was embossed, but talk about panic, so yes, mounting foam can be evil stuff lol.
Ive never thought about doing this with blank cards, its a great idea and makes such a change, must re - read your instruction on how to do it, Im an 8 x 8 gal stuck in the 8 x 8 rutt it seems ! Id love to do that gate fold inter twined card Sue did on either Tues/Thursday video tutorial but how to do this with an 8 x 8 or could I use it as an extra mat ? Not explaining myself am I ? Would it be possible to do that card but 8 x 8 size and ... Nope, cant put into words what I mean, im so thick its incredible lol still, it gives you something to laugh at hopefully and not make you look skywards out of frustration !
Your cards give me so much inspiration Sandra and lots to think about. Hopefully I will finish my final order today when she's confirmed which of the 4 samples I sent she prefers ( I couldnt make my mind up where I wanted the flower's) so gave the customer 4 different options.
Hope Janets crossing goes well today. And im thinking of all our poorly friends today.
Have a good day dear friends.
Lancashire Steph xxx
Afternoon lovely,
DeleteRight, firstly I would never laugh at you, with you yes but not at you!
You could use an 8 x 8 card to place the largest of all of the Noble Rectangles on to die cut but it would only be as big ad the die, you just have to remember to put the cutting edge of the die over the fold in the card (so you don't cut through it), I am not sure how you could make the whole card 8x8, as you are restricted by the size of the die, I will have a play and get pack to you!
I am so with you on that £1 foam tape, it does stick like the proverbial s**t to a blanket! You certainly have to be careful with the stuff!
So pleased you have almost finished your orders, poor Andy must have forgotten what your voice sounds like, bless him!
Try and have a relax after you finished, practise what you preach!
Love and hugs
Sandra xxxx
Steph,
DeletePlease go steady with that tape all over your hands, I know you are a modern woman but I don't think that Andy is ready for a " Back, sack & crack" ! I think I just him scream!
Hugs
Sandra

Good morning dearest Sandra and the coffee shoppers,
ReplyDeleteI love the soft pink card that you have used to make today's marvel Sandra, the card is superb and i love the fact that you can use the Noble dies to make an actual card base and shape it. It is so pretty and with the beautiful stick pins that you have made to coordinate with it just finishes it off a treat. What a beauty flower to have to brighten up a Monday morning.
Right, if there is going to be bleep bleep language in the cafe i think we are going to have to install a bleep box especially when that Stephanie gets going about her mounting foam. But Steph flower, i can understand the wanting to save the hard work you had put in with the beautiful blush card, it is a pretty colour and trying to caw that handle to get the embossing folder through doesn't have take it out of you or maybe its just me that it does that to. We are going to have to get your hands sorted out from having my " a whole lot of shakin' going on" hands, i would offer to swap flower but i think you might have more shake rattle and fall than normal. So coffee shoppers we are on the look out for perfect non shaky hands for Steph before she does herself or poor Andy a mischief with that foam tape, or even worse, double sided sticky paper and gilding flakes. Must admit to being an 8x 8 or A5 card blank person as i like the bigger cards, these wee things i keep running out of room on.
I didn't let in the cat honest as you will find me on top of the table if it comes near me and i hope that it is not playing with a wiggly hugs in their basket as they are wild enough without any encouragement.
Kirsten and Ryan were up at Gleneagles with his mum and dad and his 3 uncles and aunts and i was fair worried about what Kirsten was wearing as she is wearing a lot of leggings and tops( she covers her bump as she doesn't like it on parade for everyone to see her tummy), but when she came back and told me how people were dressed i couldn't believe it. I think i would have been over dressed had i went with my normal twin set and pearls which i actually like because then i know that i am matching( i don't do not matching) and then i only need a skirt or pair of dress trousers and shoes and bag to match the colour of the trousers. She came back and told me that people had taken their children there and they were running riot and also told me that Harry wouldn't be getting to cause a commotion like that and annoying people. I just had to laugh severely and loudly and she asks what is so funny. Well i have never allowed my children to behave like little hooligans and have always had them well warned before we went anywhere that i expected them to behave, not to show me up and remember their manners or would i need to post them on when we got home and Kirsten has always told me about how her friends don't need to behave and get told all the things she did but she is now realising why i had such strict standards. Oh it can take a while but you always find you did it all right at the time as left to Campbell, my children would be the same as all the rest....a nightmare. Rory has just had his gas put in a peep this morning when he tried the "but all the rest do it" stunt with me and found that i don't care, he is not. Clackmannanshire schools don't finish up until Thursday afternoon, so Rory just thought he wouldn't bother going to school today as it's the end of term and the rest all get away with it. Told him it's like water of a ducks back in that it doesn't penetrate and i am not bothered about what they do, only what he does. So bad mother once more and in the dog house.
Hello Norah,
DeleteWow you I and I share the 'bad mother' badge! As I have never fallen for the "oh but all my friends have or all my friends are going....."
To which I would always reply " I don't card what or where your friends are doing or going, I am not responsible for them, but I am for you and you will do as I say" they sulked, hated me even at times but now when they see the big groups of teenagers crowding a shop front or a park they can see what I saw, it's intimidating to others, they even comment on how bad it looks, so as hard as it is at the time it does eventually sink in, I would never let them go hanging about you see, if they had no place to go they stayed in, I think the devil makes work for idle hands and hovering about in town, bored can only lead in one direction!
Rant over!
Well that published before I finished!
DeleteMy other rule was, shout and carry on at home IF you must, but if you ever show me up in public, you will regret it, and i have to give them credit I have only ever head positive reports on all of my children, they have always been the embarrassing, gushing , parent teacher comments, I am so incredibly proud mum that as soon as they start going on about how amazing they are I get the quivering lip and have to fight back the tears as as much if a struggle things gave been for us at times, we did get it right atleast some of the time, it sounds very much like you are the same Norah!
I picked you up a new Tommy Tippee cup today, it is bright pink with flowers, to brighten your day!
Love & hugs
Sandra xxxx
When ours were younger and at home, they were allowed out if I knew they would be staying in the friends house that I dropped them off at, break the trust they were given they were told they would never earn it back, but usually my house was full of their freinds and my cupboards were empty of food, I was like a cafe but they all behaved and I knew mine were not hanging around the streets, we were lucky and live in a tiny village which they had to be taken and picked up, no buses at night. You are both right and your children will be the better for it. Beth and Anna on the other hand get to many activities and don't get home time which I feel they need. Mum doesn't do friends coming to the house they she thinks meeting them at the likes of pony club is the way. My three's friends still are welcome here and many a family summer outside meal ends up including freinds being invited along by one or more of my lot. Hazel x
DeleteSandra please can i have a large latte this morning as i think i am going to need it's restorative powers today. My basket has been filled up with some more behaving hugs in the hope that they can have a calming influence on the rest so please come and take one as they are all shapes, sizes and types just awaiting a set of arms to jump into.
ReplyDeleteLove and crafty hugs

Oh Norah, Patricia found it the same, we bought her and John a gift voucher for afternoon tea as part of their 50th anniversary, thinking they could get dressed up in their best bib and tucker. No ripped jeans t-shirt etc. was what they were greeted with, no pride that's what I think. Oh it looks like an awful, lot of you ladies don't like cats, I on the other hand love them, I truely would love to own another one but Charlie has said no after we lost one to a mad driver. Hazel x
ReplyDeleteTotally agree Norah,
DeleteNo one seems to bother any more! Personally I wouldn't enjoy my special afternoon out if I was dressed as if I was about to clean the house! My pet bugbear is men who keep baseball caps or other bits of headgear on their head in restaurants. Bad manners! I was told by someone the other day that it's ok nowadays to do that - nobody bothers! I do! I must be getting old. Don't feel you have to respond to the previous sentence.
Love, Myra xxxx
Sorry Hazel but a Siamese that mum was looking after for some folk when they were on holiday(back in 1968-69) jumped at me in mum's arms when i was still tiny and took their spiteful claws right down my coupen. What a mess it was in and took a while to heal but mum never offered to look after the blessed things again, so i just freeze when ever a cat comes near. The postman Lee was laughing at the state i was getting myself into on Saturday because across the roads cats decided they wanted to be my friend, still haven't got the body out of total rigour yet from the ordeal. Auntie Jean that i lost at Christmas had Tam Scratch for obvious reasons in the name and i didn't like him and he didn't like anyone so never came near until just weeks before he died he thought it would be a great place to curl up on Norah's lap and sink the claws in while we were getting comfy and they just went in all the deeper if anyone tried to lift him off. I'll tell you heart attack just waiting to happen, that was me and Tam.
DeleteI treated mum to Phantom of the Opera years ago at Edinburgh and the pair of us dressed like a pair of loonies in our long skirts(mum's was her tartan long skirt as it's only men that wear kilts for our English friends) and me in my long black velvet skirt, our white blouses and her black velvet jacket and me my evening jacket, because it was the night time performance we were going to and we were going to dinner upstairs in the Overtures restuarant afterwards. Talk about over kill, it was the one thing that spoiled it for us feeling like over dressed turkeys. Well we didn't know that you didn't dress for the theatre, you just went in your cleaning clothes or weekly shop clothes, what a state some of them were i can tell you as the clothes some of them were wearing i would have had in the bucket long before they got to the sad state of repair that they were in. I made the mistake of whispering to someone that they had a burst for them to laugh at me and tell me they had bought them like that. Imagine paying good money for burst clothes!
so that is just how loony i am everyone just in case you didn't know that before.
Norah x
Oh! Norah your are so right some folk these days have NO pride.
DeleteJohn & I got all dressed up for our trip to Gleneagles. Children running wild, young Farmers in with their Wellies on. Oh! Yes! they were "Hunters" and clean ... but come on it would have been as easy to put shoes on their feet. One young lady had ripped jeans (designer rips) but rips just the same. However we had a great time and a wonderful AfternoonTea. The service and the goodies were fantastic, loved every minute.

Hello again Norah & Patricia,
DeleteI guess to a degree I do still get to dress up a wee bit every now and then, Paul's work has two Mess Balls a year Christmas and Summer, they dress code there is quite strict, I had heard all of these do's and don'ts so the first one I went too I was so nervous, I had a Ball Gown made, it was a almost two tone dark purple, fitted bodice that laced up and full skirt, it cost in excess of £350 and then there were the shoes, bag, jewellery, make up and hair! I my despite the obvious issues (with walking etc) I felt a million dollars, we arrived and entered, were handed champagne on entry, walked down a long carpeted entrance into a room where quite frankly I could have cried, I felt like a right plum! I had been sold this fairy tale dream of beautiful ball gowns etc, in reality the dresses were all full length, ankles and shoulders must be covered but they were just what I would call cocktail dresses, off the peg from Debenhams or whatever, what a let down, we haven't really bothered since, we went to another one but this time I just bought an off the peg dress and blended into the background, it's so sad though, they used to be such a big affair, with proper Ball Gowns, which to my mind were always like wedding dresses but coloured, the only time I have seen it work properly was Rebecca's Prom, they were all in big puffy princess dresses, the boys all in dinner suits, some even in Tailcoats, beautiful to see!
You have all got me nervous now though, which way are you going with the dress code in October?
I am going for smart casual and a little smarter for dinner maybe, pack a frock just in case, where on earth did that word come from ? "Frock" ! Haha
Hugs
Sandra xxxx
Pete and I used to go the local Police Ball in Burham on Sea where it was de rigeur for men to be in tuxedos and women in Ball gowns. An expensive evening but oh so lovely to see all the ladies sticking to the dress code and boy, were our men smart too. Miss those days. For one reason and another nobody wanted to be the organizer so it just folded. Such a shame, it was the only night of the year when you didn't get taken in for drink driving as too many senior Police officers were worse than the Joe Public.
DeleteHappy days
Cheryl xxx
Hi Sandra and Cheryl, reading about your parties with a frock and dressed up beautifully sound lovely so it's sad that it's no more.
DeleteThe only time I been dressed up properly was at my OH x-mas parties and every time I felt not right because I'm a jeans and top person and felt so uneasy all night long. Oh it's were a few posh weddings as well so please do you think we can go casual in October ?
hugs Maria xx
Morning Sandra and ladies, a wee coffee and toast for me today, what a misery
ReplyDeleteIt is supposed to be summer!!! Sandra your card is gorgeous love how you have used the die to create a card certainly makes a difference.
I have a spare bag of cat litter and will hand it in later' our cats don't use it anymore, they prefer to do their business outside in the fields, thank goodness.
One of my friends really doesn't like cats, it's not the cats that put her off it's the mice they bring home, she is terrified of them.
Housework still beckons, so will catch up later.
Take care, Jess x
Forgot to say, If you use a little bit of photo glue on the back of sticky foam tape it gives a little leeway if you position it wrong" Jess
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Sandra!
ReplyDeleteYour card today is very , very, pretty! I like the shape too! Sometimes we need smaller cards to post and this one is ideal for that as it still has the wow factor of a bigger card! Your pins are lovely too! They may be trickier to post I guess!
About that cat!
I said I 'd put it out last night and I did! Who let it back in? Maria at one point was going to take it home then remembered her husband had a cat allergy!
I confess I think cats are cute but I prefer dogs! Sorry! However, like every true animal lover I wouldn't do anything to hurt them.
Do you ever wonder what someone who landed on this blog by accident would make of us!
It's a lovely sunny day here today and so much calmer than the last couple of days.
I have got today off from School Crafting as it's the holidays! Yeh!
Janet - safe journey and calm crossing! You'll be just fine when you get that log fire going!
Steph - totally agree about very sticky mounting tape! I get in an awful mess with that! I have been buying sheets of mounting foam from Affixit . It comes in A4 sheets of varying thicknesses and you cut whatever you need - long strips or large backing squares. Now I can't remember who recommended this but I think it was someone on either Sue's Blog or Sandra's but I think it was maybe here as Sue doesn't like advertising on her blog as her boss at CE doesn't like it.
I must stop as I have been rambling on for ages.
Have a good day everyone, and I'll mabe catch up later?
PS - I would just print a Virtual Alcoholic Beverages Licence , Sandra! Stick a Dazzler on top and place in any altered art frame!
Love to all ,
Myra xxx
Hi Myra,
DeleteWe have 2 cats and have never put them out at night, I wouldn't be able to sleep not knowing where they were or what they were doing, so they are tucked up at night so I know they are safe, I have to say we have had them a year this week and before that to be perfectly honest neither Paul or myself like cats, but Becca bought the girls these little kittens for their birthday last year and they have stolen our hearts, little beggars!
It was me Myra, I ordered the sheets of varying thickness from Affixit and they are fabulous, I won't hesitate to buy from them again, it's top quality, doesn't stick to your fingers, you can cut it to size so you seem to use less! The three rolls from pound world have their place too on cards that you are trying to keep the cost down on, it does work but is just a little more fiddle to unpeel and stick, but as I said before a little cosmic shimmer glue makes it a little easier to use! I use it on all foam tape, just for the 'belt and braces' sake really!
Virtual license already prepared, anyone want to volunteer to 'Alter' it, as I would love to get into 'Altered Art' I haven't don't it and I am probably rubbish at it, so one of you 'pro's' can do it'
Catch up with you later
Hugs
Sandra

Sorry Sandra, Fancy me forgetting it was you!l at least I paid attention to the advice and got it! It really is good. It's good to get everyone's hints and tips! Xxx
DeleteOh, Norah no wonder you don't like cats and personally I do feel Siamese can be a bit spiteful! A bit like some dog breeds. They think they are the best. I know the last time we went to the panto with the grandsons, we were all smartly dressed and Tammy never takes her two out anything but well dressed, and we were a poled at how the children let alone the adults were dressed, and oh the mess they. left behind was unbelievable!!! I think it's a shame as its only times like going out to the theater and somewhere nice to eat that you can get dressed up. Patricia and I love when we are away for our week in Turkey to put on our nice clothes, walk down to the town have dinner then walk back to the hotel, it's all part of our holiday, Charlie and I are off to Canada soon and I will not pack as many dress clothes this time as I felt so uncomfortable the last time as we were there we were over dressed, one of Charlies sisters asked were we were going all dressed up when we went to visit, what had I on - Asda £8 black trousers, a long sleeved t-shirt from there to and a cardigan, I think my whole out fit will have cost just over £20 and she thought I was dressed up no just smartly. It will be better weather hopefully by then and I will have linen trousers with me and nice t-shirts ( don't panic Maureen best western hotels have irons and boards in each room. )But that will be me when we are going for dinner or visiting, comfy clothes travelling in the car but still smart. Talking about clothes I am going to have a clear out of the clothes while on holiday it's well over due, if it hasn't been worn for a couple of years it's remove and either charity shopped or cash for clothes. Hazel x.
ReplyDeleteYour card is beautiful Sandra. Thank you for showing it to us. Must get on with this Sympathy card. Don't know where the morning has gone. Very cold and windy here today. Need to go out and check my car over as haven't used it since 28th January and IF the physio says I can drive tomorrow I want to be able to use it. Well I didn't leave a cat in the cafe last night. I also don't like them. Can't make my neighbour understand that although she loves cats (she hasn't got one now) I don't like them making a mess in my garden. Didn't used to make one in hers. About dressing up yo go out. It's such a shame people don't do it now. I bought a lovely dress recently for my trip to Jersey later in the year. People do seem to dress nicely for dinner at this particular hotel so that's why I bought it. It is also reversible so got two dresses for the price of one. Save on packing as it is thin and doesn't seem to crease. Well must get back to this card. I will have a latte to take with me and stop to chat later. Yes Sandra the double sided tape from Poundland is good. I always use it. Must get more next time in town before all you ladies snap it up. TTFN
ReplyDeleteHi Brenda,
DeleteWell, I've heard of double sided sticky tape, but a double sided dress, that takes the biscuit.
Good luck with the physio assessment.
Hugs Saba xxx
Fingers crossed for the physio so you can drive again.
DeleteI like both cat and dogs but not all of them, especially cats can be a bit vicious at times. The little one yesterday did come home with me but OH started to sneeze so I had to take him back.
Don't talk to me about sticky tape of any kind hihi so glad it went well in the end for Steph, poor Andy hearing all that bleeping lol
Take care Littlelamb, hugs Maria xx
Hi Brenda,
DeleteI have my fingers crossed that the physio gives you the all clear to drive, I hope your battery hasn't died as they can when left for a long time not being used, have you been turning it over every now and then? You may need to ask your son to put it on charge for you, it might be ok if it's a fairly new one!
A double sided dress is a fabulous idea, particularly like you say for packing to go away, genius idea, what colours is it?
I hope you get your bargain tape!
What's happening at your sons? Is the happy wanderer at home?
Give Scarlett a hug from me, get her to create something for mixed craft Saturday !
Love and hugs
Sandra Xxxxxxx
Hello Brenda. Hope the Pyhsio is not too painful and you also get the all clear to drive.
DeleteI used to have 2 skirts and tops that were double sided they were absolutely fantastic for holidays. Wore & washed them so much they fell apart. Must go have a look for something like that for this year.

Good morning Sandra and our lovely ladies,
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful card you have shown us today Sandra, and how clever to turn the largest die into the card base. The more I see of these noble rectangles the more I am liking them. I wonder when Sue will start using her new collection, we don't seem to have seen many of them used yet. Love your stick pins Sandra, definitely need those.
Now as to that cat, are we keeping it or not because if we are would you mind if I ordered a joiner to come in and fit a cat flap. Cat litter is just so off putting when you are trying to enjoy a nice cup of tea.
We used to have a Rag Doll. She was called Schätzle (it means sweetie) and she was such a character. She liked playing in the stream, most cats hate water, and once brought me home a new bar of soap (no mice for her!) which she had stolen from our neighbours bathroom. It only came to light about a week later when I heard them having a little dispute and he was accusing her of getting forgetful and quoting the missing bar of soap as an example. We decided not to have another one as I really am allergic to cats and had to take daily antihistamines.
I don't understand why people don't make an effort to dress properly nowadays. The first time we went to the opera in Germany I insisted that my OH wore a tie, which he was not happy about, but I told him we wouldn't be allowed in otherwise and was so surprised to see so many in jeans and t shirts. And Joanne is the only mum in her group who polishes Oliver's school shoes, her friends think it is hilarious. Good manners are another thing. He gets so many genuine compliments which makes me think that it must be unusual for 4years old to be polite.
Joanne and I are going to London to see Phantom and are going to stay in a really posh hotel and I am already starting to get anxious that we won't have the right clothes for dinner in the hotel, but it sounds like I don't need to worry. Does that mean I can send the Louis Vuitton overnight bag back?
Time to put the washing out now, it's a beautiful day here and as Joanne is at work today I thought I would do a few jobs fro her and give the house a bit of a tidy, not that it really needs it, she is such a tidy person but I have a very special visitor coming on Wednesday!!
Love and hugs
Saba xxxx
Who else have you invited? !!!
DeleteI'm excited!
Ragdoll pussy cats must be at the top of the cute category!
Had to smile at Oliver's comments in Church. Just so typical of a little boy. I love to see children in in Church though. Xxx
Myra, did I not mention it was a party? Evening wear not necessary though. Our Ragdoll was adorable, she was a blue point and had such a sweet nature. And when you picked her up she went all floppy, hence the reason the breed was named Ragdoll.
DeleteThe service yesterday was very child friendly. It was a family service so no deep theological sermon, quite the reverse, right down to the vicar smashing a chocolate egg with the cross and we all did a bit of crafting to produce a palm leaf which we had to wave about at various points. It was very jolly and he enjoyed it, but equally he was so well behaved during the " important bits", and I was very proud of him.
Two more sleeps!!!!
Saba xxxx
Told John about Oliver and his "Palm sword" it brought back so many memories. John Jnr did the very same thing for quite a few Palm Sunday's!!! John always said that it was part of the Criertia for getting into a Catholic Acadamy ....... !!! Oliver has to go with you next week ... will they not be giving out Easter Eggs to all the Children?? They do here anyway.
DeleteSaba:- you have someone very excited. She will have on her Best Bib & Tucker for the occasion. Will it very formal??? Myra likes "posh" remember the Canapés!!!
xxx
I was sooo very afraid of this! You are naughty you lot! Xxx
DeleteWe do LOVE you really......Please don't be offended. I for one am just a bit jealous.
DeleteBIG hugs

Smoked salmon and cucumber sandwiches I thought. Of course I will cut off the crusts and slice them diagonally.
DeleteWish you could come too.
Bigger hugs. Xxxx
Oh Patricia,
DeletePlease don't worry I don't take offence very readily! Good job here! Lol.
I am every bit as cheeky as the next person here but we're just having fun. We will tell you all about it - well nearly ! Xxx
Good Afternoon Sandra and ladies,
ReplyDeleteWell, I don't know about your areas, but March did come in like a lamb here and it is certainly going out roaring like a lion!
Another late day for me. Didn't get up early today, enjoyed making up for the lost hour yesterday. So far I've done the washing, hung up last of wallpaper and sewed tagloops to my new towels so they can hang on the hooks behind the door, made the bed and had lunch. Now I'm waiting for the delivery driver to announce when he is coming.
I'm out tonight with the Darts Wives club for early bird meal to celebrate my retirement. Woo hoo!
Like a lot of comments today, I like to dress up when I go out, it makes a change from my normal house clothes and makes me feel better. I can't stand this 'look at me, I've got no pride in myself' generation, don't they realise it reflects on themselves as human beings? There is a lot of difference in being comfortable in what you wear at home and what is presentable when going somewhere a bit posher. And there is no price on good manners. Sad to say the younger generation believe it is nearly always about them. Off the soap box now.
Pete was very strict with our grandchildren on manners and we were never ashamed to take them out with to all kinds of venues, Joseph especially liked our local for tea. One day he was chatting away to us whilst eating, but remembering to keep his mouth closed when chewing, and the couple on the table next to us, but behind a screen, stopped him on his way out and were surprised to see this tiny dot (he was about 2 at the time) and they complimented him on having such good manners. He replied 'Well that's my granddad's job, to teach me' A lesson well learned, now their favourite word is impeccable. I asked them to have impeccable manners when we went to get their new school shoes and didn't like all the other kids running loose around the restaurant. The lady with the noisy kids couldn't believe how my two turned their noses up at them!
Your card Sandra is yet another masterpiece, from the description I'm taking is a delicate shade of pink? My picture shows it as being gold, white and pink pearls. It's either that or my eyesight is worse than I think. Anyhows, what is there not to like about your latest creation? Fabulous, glorious, luxurious and sumptuous springs to mind (ate that dictionary again for breakfast, not much of it left now).
How delightful! my desk has just arrived so I must go and sort out the drawers and the storage boxes. A new home for more clutter! No, I'm decluttering, not keeping. Anyhows, I can certainly, with my hand on my heart, recommend these people to anyone and everyone. They are called Storage4Crafts and their service is second to none, they make their own goods and are very prompt, efficient and friendly. Any problems and they are just a phone call away.
Well you will all need another cuppa after reading my l-o-n-g post today so I'll leave now and pop in later.
Love & hugs
Cheryl xxx
Oh Cheryl how exciting, I have always wanted one of those Storage for crafts units but they are way out of my budget, when it win the litters maybe! Which one did you go for? Did you go for the sturdy storage boxes or the canvas ones? Hurry with those photos please! Does it come all assembled?
DeleteWe have always been complimented on our children's table manners by Paul's parents, who have taken the girls out on many occasions and said to us how amazed they were at using the cutlery properly and being polite, some of Paul's nieces and nephews have no idea how to sit at a table and eat a dinner!
Have a lovely dinner with the Darts Wives Club, enjoy yourself and hurry back to tell us all about it, hugs
Sandra xxxx
Hi Cheryl,
DeleteHow exciting - your room will look like a proper craft room! I have seen the Storage4Crafts advertisement in magazines and it looks lovely. Really robust as well. I hope you enjoy setting it all out .
Happy crafting!
Have a lovely time tonight. xxx
My little grandson each year he has been at school has won the cup for the best manners, and showing kindness and consideration to others. It takes so little to be well mannered but why oh why are they in such short supply these days?
Deletexx
I really stretched my budget for the storage station and my desk and I had a little left over from some savings we had put away for house repairs, I can skimp and save on other things but I did want something that would be quite robust, and I must admit I am glad that I did so. The quality is astounding and although it came flat packed it was relatively easy to construct. Jamie is very impressed with both desk and station. All the boxes are Really useful Boxes and very sturdy.
DeletePictures to come.
Cheryl xxx
Your new craft room sound amazing. I have seen them ones at the NEC and they are really good quality but out of my price range unless I win the lottery lol
DeleteHave a fab. time or rather hope you Are having a Fab time and not at home yet sitting crafting in your new den
Hugs Maria x
Forgot to say, the quality of my craft station and my desk is amazing.

I've forgotten who made the comments about baseball hat but it did make me smile I wouldn't dream nor would Hubby and especially my daughter of not dressing up fir a "posh" tea I smiled because the funniest thing I've seen is when we were lucky enough to be in Dubai was seeing the ladies in their burkas or whatever they are called in Dubai (no offence to anyone) and their husbands in their dish-dash but wearing a baseball cap Didn't have quite the same effect!
ReplyDeleteHow funny, you won't offend anyone in here my lovely so don't worry, the sights I have seen just blow your mind, for instance we were on holiday in our usual place in Spain, it was a particularly hot day and they were some Muslims on the beach, the chaps were in tiny 'budgie smugglers' trunks but the poor women were covered head to toe in black, full hijab and everything in black, the must have been baking, it just seems so unjust to me, but that's a whole can of worms probably not to be opened, but I get your point Karen, a baseball cap, however designer is not a smart option for anyone!, excuse me ignorance but what's a dish-dash?
DeleteHugs
Sandra xxxx
PS instead of wasting our lovely CE glue on the back of this dang foam try Pritt stick
ReplyDeleteHi Sandra,
ReplyDeleteStunning card there, beautiful soft colour tones.
Thanks on the up keep of the foam tape as well I need some of this but do not have a pound land only a pound shop so will take a look just to see, ooh my son is taking me to Colchester as we speak as they have one there lol!
Oh I'll pick up the kitty litter on the way lol!

Hello Sandra and everyone, please can I order a cup of tea and if there are any of those hot crossbins left (but can I have some butter on it) thank you ever so much just what I need a sitter way over here with these girls and catch up on the gossip
ReplyDeleteSandra your card is stunning, I just love all of it. Your stick pins are gorgeous. It's these extra little finishes make a card special. And yours is special. I have purchased this die but have been thinking about is, it's definitely on the WishList now.
We used to have two cats, unfortunately both of them died some years ago. John was never a cat lover, but it was he who brought the cats home. The first one Tiger, he was quite a dominant little character. The second one Tammy, was astray, John's boss had said it couldn't stay in the workplace and had to go, guess where it came, he was as daft as a brush. And we used to say he absolutely loved our younger daughter. When she went away to college he would sulk for days but on her return you would've thought he had springs and his paws he just loved her so much. When they both died we just couldn't bear to replace them.
Right better think about getting the children's tea, will pop back later to see what's been going on. Love and hugs Brenda XXX
Popped in for a quick cuppa before I have to start thinking about something for the Dinner this evening.
ReplyDeleteAre there any of those Hot X Buns left?? ...... looks like they are all gone, never mind.
I will have a cuppa and will help myself to something "calorie free" Over in the corner I think a need to put my feet up for 5 mins.
Been busy here today. House cleaned with a little help from John. Washing done, out, dried, Ironed and all put away. I love when I can do that, plus it all smells so fresh.
Mmmmm!! that was really good, I enjoyed it, money in the pot by the way.
Have you all heard the news:- Jess, Norah, Hazel and I have a "meet up" all organised for a week on Wednesday, really excited.
Myra has a "meet up" with Saba this week. Looking forward to hearing all about that.
Wow!! this Blog is just wonderful without it these things would never have happened.
Thank you so much Sandra, you are a STAR!!!

Anyone else fancy a hot crossbin. Play havoc with your teeth LOL
ReplyDeleteHi Brenda,
DeleteAre your grandchildren broken up too? You on babysitting duties?
Are they at yours or you at theirs?
I tried for about ten minutes to get that hot cross bin in the toaster, but it wasn't happening! Don't you just love auto correct, this one always puts gave instead of have ! So annoying!
You take it easy my lovely
Sandra xxxx
Brenda I missed your Hot X Bun but I have enjoyed my bit cake.
DeleteThe buns might play havoc with your teeth but if it was not for the "calorie free" cake can you imagine the havoc on the waistlines of the folk that come in here???
Hope you are having a good day.
xxx
What a beatiful card , I am a novice when I see the likes of that,it is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteI am in the pub with a pint cause it is so hot and I got burnt yesterday. Speaking about clothes, I hate to see people out for meals when on holiday with their shorts and sandals on, but that seems to be the majority at times.
I have to say again what a gorgeous card, Sandra
Wendy xx
Hi Wendy, glad your enjoying the WARM weather, blooming freezing here. Been good for the washing but that's about it.......!!
DeleteI love to get dressed up to go out for an evening meal both here and on holiday. Some folk just don't bother do they???
xxx
Oh Wendy! I'm not at all jealous of your warm sunshine!
DeleteGlad you got lovely weather but stay in the shade until your sunburn gets better. It was lovely here earlier but it has just started to rain!
Xxx
Thanks Wendy,
DeleteEnjoy your cooling pint, you need a warming cocoa here it's so blooming cold, we are back to winter, make the most of the sunshine!
I am with you on holiday dress codes, my other bug bear is men going in supermarkets, sweating with no t shirt on! It's disgusting, you wouldn't do it at home, people seem to lose all respect on holiday, there are times when we need to cover up, I don't want to go into a restaurant and sit on a seat that somebody has sat on wearing no more that a thong swimsuit thing, so bloody unhygienic! I don't want to look at it when I am eating either, or some sweaty old mans arm pit hair! Oh my stomach is churning just imagining it!
Enjoy your pint, remember slip.slap, slop, keep protected!
Hugs
Sandra xxxxxx
No Wendy, its coming in for dinner with their bits on show whether it be a bikini or trunks. I have to say the shorts i can just about stomach but the rest of the wobbles should be kept under cover at meal times for the sake of other peoples digestive system
DeleteNorah x
SANDRA a dish dash is the white/male quivalent to the Hijab/burka (I think I'm now doubting myself!)
ReplyDeleteThanks Karen, every day's a school day!
DeleteI am guessing the man can 'choose' to wear his though ?!
Hugs
Sandra
Xxxxx
You bet! Some even wear their designer jeans and stuff and still expect their wives to cover up I totally agree with sweaty armpits tec and it'usually the fat pot bellied ones (sorry ladies but my hubby is no oil painting either) that seem to do this
DeleteHi Sandra,
ReplyDeleteHad another late night so again I posted little all over the place. The cat came home with me but OH kept sneezing so had to take him back. He is really cute but don't think we should keep him as many do not like cats.
Sandra the card you are showing us today is beautiful, the colours together is amazing, something you are very good at, the stickpins are lovely as the bow.
I really need some help with putting colours together, maybe at the retreat we could play around with something like that ?
I don't like to dress up but if we are going out I'm quite simple, dark trousers and a top, very rarely in skirt except in summer.
If in a restaurant etc. about children, I hate it when the parents let them run riot ,even in the supermarket when they running around where they so easely could hurt themselves as well but do the parent say anything, No.not a peep .
Oliver is a very lucky boy who have a grandma like you Saba but not sure about his bottle of wine he had last night lol
I hope that Sam, Alison and anyone else missing are ok and hopefully we will see you soon again, Take care
Sending warm hugs to you all, it's cold again brrr popping in later, hopefully not to late. I have to talk to myself as you all gone to bed lol
Hugs Maria xx
Maria, the thing is, wine is not bad for your teeth. Lol.
DeleteLast week we saw a child in a pushchair drinking from a can of coca cola. Why would anyone give a child cola? And let them drink from a can.
Xxxx
I'm sorry to say it but some people shouldn't have children. The things they giving them to eat and drink at toddlers age is scary. I'm not a perfect mum but normal sense I'm sure we were brought up with.
DeleteBamse kram to you, Val and little Oliver <3

Just read your post re ball gowns It is sad isn't it Occasionally some Salsa events have a dress theme and can be anything from wear red or red carpet night We ladies tend to wear a bit of glitz anyway Although with my legs I'm usually in trousers
ReplyDeleteCheryl has won Sue's blog candy, oh she will be able to put it in her new storage unit? I am so pleased for her, she I'll be dancing round her new craft room. It lovely to see it go to a person that blogs every day. Hazel x
ReplyDeleteCheryl, yipeeeeee. I jumped up and down for Muriel's win and I'm doing cartwheels for yours. How fantastic. I'll be smiling all evening.

Oh got a lovely surprise tonight at work! I am on holiday as from tomorrow night not Wednesday!!! Mummy will be at home all day Wednesday and she will do the taking and picking up, now that will be a first! Beth had been excepted into the team that will go to Windsor, with the Shetland pony racing team, can you image the excitement when I saw her!!! Hazel x
ReplyDeleteHazel, great news!
DeleteCongratulations to Beth too! I can just imagine the excitement! Hope the team does well.
Xxx
OH, MY, CHERYL! You needed more goodies for that lovely new craftroom didn't you. Fantastic news. The cafe seems to be on a winning streak.
ReplyDeleteSandra, I LOVE this card. The colours are so soft, and elegant.
I agree with you all re. dressing for an occasion. 2 years ago I bought tickets to see Andrea Bocelli at the new Hydro in Glasgow. Tickets were 60th birthday presents for my hubby and our best friend, Sandra. (Sandra and Derek were born 4 days apart in the same village and have known each other all their lives) Sandra was so looking forward to it, all excited, hair done, pretty outfit, we even persuaded Derek to wear his suit. Must admit we looked good, but so many were there in jeans, and so scruffy, I know he couldn't see us (sorry, that's the wrong thing to say about him, isn't it), but it just seemed disrespectful to us.
So, does the cat get to stay here or not? I never noticed it last night. I must admit to being a dog person, had them all my life, but just after we got married and were living in a caravan in the country, we were over run by mice..yuck..they were nibbling on everything. So, the choice was, love cats or mice. Well, we got 3 kitties, our German Shepherd thought they were his, loved them totally, and very quickly..no mice. If you do need them for that reason, forget the Tom's. It was the girl who caught everything. No cats now, just another German Shepherd. Who needs walked again. Will look in again later
Janice
Hi Sandra
ReplyDeleteOnce again you've made another stunning card. I must get the pierced noble dies. As you know I have the others. Wow Cheryl you've won Sues blog candy, just in time to go into your new craft room. I'm thrilled for you. I Know you'll get these from Sue unlike Mrs B, Steph and myself who won on Kim Robertsons blog in Oct and never ever received our gifts. I know it wasn't me that left the carpt in the kitchen Sandra as I didn't pop in last night. I bet it was Milo as he gets into everything. I've seen him sitting in and on your craft stuff. Perhaps he wants lessons. Well our grandchildren are now on holiday, although Amber is in school for three days. Something to do with being in the top group for maths, she's been going to our old grammer school for extra tuition, even though she's in her last year of primary. I think she gets her brains from her Nan.
I can go with you all there as I won a stupid wee stamp from crafters companion and I am still waiting on it coming today from Jo I think it was mckelvie. Maria, were you not another so called winner in Yeo of the hoppers blogs and never got even one of them? It has really put me off looking at a lot of them I must admit.
DeleteLove Norah x
Yes I'm still waiting and I won with two different hoppers and thought I might get two stamp set as I sat my heart on sending you one because you holla to me about the win . After several phonecalls and e-mails I have given up and the only one I would bloghop with now is our wow Sue
DeleteHope you are ok ?
Love and hug Maria xx
Good evening Sandra and all the Coffee shop crew
ReplyDeleteSandra such a delightful and luxuriously rich card it is wonderful and your stick pins are the icing on the cake so to speak.
Now my little girl corgi Amy is very, very good at chasing cats so if the cat is going to be a problem she will soon sort it out, just say the word!
I have to say it again such fantastic news for Cheryl I am so delighted for her, the coffee shop members do seem to be on a winning roll at the moment, there was Maureen's win from Sue, then a Euro lottery winner, for a vast amount and now Cheryl the way we are going ladies the sky is the limit!
Have a lovely evening everyone, I do hope Janet has arrived safely, have we heard from her yet?
With love
Margaret xxx
I'm beginning to sound like a broken record but has anyone hard from Alison?
ReplyDeleteI do hope she is alright. Xxx
Oops , should be heard! Xx
ReplyDeleteNo I was asking the same thing the other day? She did comment on Sue's blog a few days ago. She is meant to be going to Ally Pally is she not? Sam must be very unwell as she hadn't been commenting. Either that they are away on holiday.. Hazel x
ReplyDeleteNo, I was thinking about Sam too. It's jut not like Sam not to comment .
DeleteIt's a dreadful night here! Rain battering off conservatory roof! Xxx
Hi girls, boy I really need a hot chocolate. It is pouring out, and not too warm either. The dog has been rubbed dry and fed, so now I just need to thaw out. Thought this was Spring!
ReplyDeleteOh Janice,
DeleteIt's an awful night here too! Battering rain and wind. It's the sort of night when I'm glad I don't have to walk a dog! Mind our Labrador had to be pulled out on a wet night - she didn't like the rain! Xxx
Not windy here, just straight down rain
DeleteWhereabouts are you Janice , I'm between Chorley and Southport in Lancashire! Xxx
DeleteI am in Fort William, Scottish West coast, next to Ben Nevis.
DeleteI'm in Fort William, west coast of Scotland, next to Ben Nevis
Deletexx
Know exactly where you a Real! Lovely part of the country - especially on a nice day! Xx
DeleteIt is a beautiful place, just a little bit on the wet side though.
DeleteThe West Coast is notorious for rain - but we lived in Aberdeen when we were married at first and I thought I'd die of cold the first winter! They even sold hot water bottles for prams ! Xx
DeleteJanice, I think I told you that my sister in law lives in Caol, it is horrible
DeleteThere when it rains, the wind just belts up the loch!
Jessx
Myra, as an Aberdonian yes it can be cold evenin a Summer Day in June.
DeleteMind you it was as cold here today as it gets in Aberdeen ........blooming freezing!!
I will need my Hot Water Bottle tonight
xxx
That should be even on a Summer Day.
DeleteBloomin IPad ...!!!
xxx
I remember once , Patricia, I set of for school in Aberdeen - I taught in was it called Mile End? It was dry and cold. I was wrapped up but wearing stilettos! Well then it snowed - I had to get two buses home and the second one couldn't make it up the hill to Craigiebuckler! I ended up on foot, snow half way up my legs and I was really crying by the time I reached home! I was made to go and but sensible boots next morning! I did it willingly - well almost. Sensible shoes and me don't get on most of the time! Xxx
DeleteOh! dear! I can almost feel your cold feet. Something I absolutely hate is cold feet.
DeleteI am not into sensible shoes I like my "fashion" feet except in the winter when its "UGGS" but I like them in nice colours .. like pink & blue for starters.
xxx
I like the idea of Uggs but not on me! I'm too small! Like Maureen I too have shrunk! Im about 5 ft 3ins . I also take a size 4 . Now my DIL loves her Uggs as do both granddaughters . Xx
DeleteOk! I can see where you are coming from re:- wearing UGGS!! They are so cosy though, how about the really short ones as slippers. That's what I wear in the house.
DeleteI am 5'6"/7" I used to be 5'8" hope I don't shrink too much more or I won't manage to reach the top shelf of the kitchen cupboards with out a stool. I have to use the stool when it comes to evening, my reach definitely get less by then.
xxx
That's how I imagined you - tall and slim! I actually don't suffer from cold feet normally so Ugg slippers would be too hot! My DIL loves hers! Xx
DeleteYou got the tall bit right, don't know about the slim!!! though.
DeleteMaybe by October as I am trying hard to loose weight for Gillan's (Hazels daughter) wedding in July. Might have out it all back on by then.
xxx
Well done Cheryl, just read about your fantastic win, great for your new craft room, you need to let us know what was included.
ReplyDeleteIt is absolutely pouring with rain now, what has happened to our weather?
Norah do you want picked up next Wednesday for our meeting with Patricia and Hazel, I pass the road end to Glen Ochil on the way to Sterling Mills, let me know.
Will pop back later for more gossip. Take care, Jess x
Hi Sandra. Fingers crossed this works. Had internet problems all day, our phones seem to be ok though, well sort of! Have found out that both mine (old brick) and Chris's (smart phone) are doing odd things. Texts are not being sent, but recipients are getting them, his has been saying that my texts have been read but I hadn't sent one.......all sorts of odd stuff. It does explain why my friend asked me why I had text her 4 times with the same blank in about an hour the other day! A couple of other [people in the village are having the same problem, really not quite sure what is going on though.
ReplyDeleteWell the fan has started up again so had better go, thought it had sorted itself out yesterday but back to playing up today!
Take care and hope to see you in the morning my lovely. xx
P.S. Congratulations Cheryl, what fantastic timing winning Sue's blog candy on the day that your lovely new furniture arrived. You deserve it all, enjoy sorting out homes for it all : )) xx
Well done Cheryl on winning the blog candy, you need to let us know what was included. Weather is horrible raining cats and dogs (sorry)

ReplyDeleteJust checked back and saw my message posted twice, what a b..ger?

Catch up later if I haven't given into sleep.
Jess.
Hello Sandra,
ReplyDeleteThat's the most beautiful card. I absolutely love it. Everything it just perfect.
Cheryl, congratulations on your win, how wonderful for you. We'll look forward to hearing about your goodies.
Jess, congratulations on your massive lotto win, like Norah you won't let it alter your lifestyle will you?
Sandra and Steph you crease me up, just keep away from me with that 3D foam.
Hazel, George or I always took Rachel and brought her back from wherever she was going. When she moaned that it made her look childish I used to say that I cared about her, and if her friend parents didn't do the same it was because they weren't as concerned as we were. It was either that, or she wasn't allowed to go.
Myra, I agree about men and youths with their hats. My father wore a trilby hat and always doffed it if he was introduced to a woman, and removed it indoors or when he got on the bus. And youths with their hoodies. I just couldn't imagine the boys when I was young going around with pixie hoods on, because that's what they look like to me!!
Dress-code. I've decided what I'll be wearing at our soiree. The full hi-jab. I think it'll be the only way to stop you all running out screaming.
Saba, Oliver is a little star and if you can't play swords with your palm cross, when can you? You must take him to church next Sunday to get his chocolate egg.
Colchester, who mentioned Colchester - Sandra. in 1959 or 1960 I went to work for a firm called Woods of Colchester whose head office was in Colchester. I have to say that I worked in their office in Newcastle. They made Xpelair fans, and ventilation equipment for industrial companies, mines, ships etc. I worked there until 1968 when I left to have Rachel in 1969.
Well the children were very tasty but we didn't eat them in the Forest School. Lyndas wind was playing havoc, although it was sunny and very, very cold, we went into the school hall. The adults just cut up loads of fruit and they helped themselves. Quite boring but they thought it was great.
Rachel was didn't get in from work (Ofsted inspection tomorrow) until 7.30 but the girls had their dinner here, then we took them to their house as it's the decorated egg competition tomorrow and they wanted to finish their entries. They raided my craft room (still in a terrible mess - tomorrow is another day) to finish their projects. Eleanor is doing a hair dressers and Zoe is doing a Boutique. They are really very good and all their own work - unlike some of the entries, which is quite unfair as the ones that have obviously been done by an adult usually win.
I'll finish, because I'm dog tired but I will pop in again later.
I'm so jealous of the ladies who are meeting up with each other and hope you all have a fabulous time. Remember to wear your Tena Ladies and you should be OK and not have any embarrassing moments!!!!
Love to all, those who are poorly, in pain, lonely, shaking hands or bodies, I'm thinking of you.
Going now to write a begging letter to Norah and Jess.
Love Muriel xxx
It really annoys me when adults make their child's entry for a competition. There is always at least one really talented parent but it's not fair on the other children and not fair to her own child! We had this with an Easter Bonnet competition in my grandaughters class.
DeleteHow is Eleanor, Maureen - has she been okay? Hope so.
Xxx
Hi Myra,
ReplyDeleteI know it happens all the time, and it's always the same families. Eleanor has been OK since her fainting fit, thank goodness. There's always something, isn't there?
George was up and down all night with his dodgy legs, and kept me awake as well, so I left him in bed this morning and went to Rachel's on my own. Got the girls to our house for the school bus when Eleanor said that she'd forgotton her homework and was upset. So off I went, back to heir house, picked it up and drove to the school with it. I got there before the bus and when she got off her eyes were bright red as she' been crying thinking she'd get wrong off her teacher. She was so pleased to see me that it was worth the palpitations I had with driving in rush hour traffic. I really do not enjoy driving now.
It's quiet in here tonight. I think all the cats and dogs have chased them away.
Muriel xx
I've been chatting to Patricia and Janice up above - if you see what I mean! Rush hour traffic is a real pain and you so quickly get out of the habit of doing it! I still drive a fair bit and the motorways round here are fairly busy but my friend won't go on the motorway at all! It's a bit limiting if you do that.
DeleteSo looking forward to meeting Saba on Wednesday. I hope she doesn't think - oh I don't like that woman! Ha ha!
Is George alright now? Pleased Eleanor been ok! Xxx
Myra, Saba will LOVE you and you will LOVE her.
DeleteYou will have a great day, stop worrying.
I am going to have a great day with Jess & Norah

If you all knew how jealous I am because you are all meeting up, you'd be amazed. I bet you all have a rip roaring day, full of laughter and chatter. Grrrrrr
DeleteMuriel xx
It won't be too long now Maureen only 7 months! Well - yes that is a while! Xxx
DeleteMaureen, glad you managed to make a girls day, even if it did give you Palpitations.
ReplyDeleteIt is very quite in here. I think I might just go off to bed and read my book.
Good night Love & Hugs

Hello Everyone, just popped it to see if the party is still going on for CHERYL I am so pleased for her. Now she will have to reorganise her craft room !!!!!
ReplyDeleteWe are staying at our younger daughters, the oldest two are on holiday for Easter Ciara doesn't break up until Thursday. And as both mum and dad work. It is easier to stay here, they have all of there own things, it's much better than packing them up and taking them to our house. Plus at our house two would have to share a room, they argue who can have a room single room.
I see we have lottery winners as well. No wonder the bottles of bubbly are on the counter ........... Ho! Hello Officer NO ITS only virtual alcohol HONEST. Hic
Sending love and crafty hugs to everyone, Brenda
Go steady Brenda, you have children to get up and ready in the morning and you will be feeling fragile!
DeleteHave fun though my lovely,

Hi ladies,
ReplyDeleteHad a lovely meal to celebrate my retirement, so thought I'd top my night off by coming in for a chat, and got a bit puzzled by some of the remarks on being a winner. So I checked Sue's blog and Oh My Word, it is me!!! In tears of joy now, that is the icing on my cake following the last few not so nice months. I will be floating on my way to bed now. Mmmmmm
i'm going to have read the whole blog to see what everyone has been up to.
Love you all, thank you for being my friends
Cheryl xxx
It's me, I don't know what's the matter, I keep losing my posts - as well as my mind, so I'm switching on the dishwasher, tidying the benches and hanging the keys in the usual place. Got the rubber mallet handy for him, if he keeps me awake again tonight, he'll be sorry.
ReplyDeleteSee you all tomorrow, I hope you all have a good night.
Do you think Cheryl is back from her night out, and do you think she knows about her win? Oooohhh, I'm excited for her.
Love Muriel xxx
Well, you wouldn't believe it, she must have posted whilst I was writing, so yes Cheryl is in, and yes Cheryl knows about her win!!!!
ReplyDeletexxx
Oh my goodness, what better news, than our dear Chery winning the Blog Candy from Sue's blog, I won it about 5 years ago and there was so much stuff in it then, I can see from the photo that there are so many lovely things in that bundle, it is so perfectly timed to go into your new Craft Unit, It was meant to be, I am so over the moon Cheryl its a nicer feeling that winning it myself.
ReplyDeleteThank you for being such a special part of this amazing blog.
lots of love and hugs
Sandra

Yay! I do know and I still can't believe it!!! I've had to check 3 times just to make sure. Oh my. I'm all in a tither and tablets kicking in so I'm off to bed.
ReplyDeleteI'm taking my daughter Fiona to the Breast Care Centre tomorrow for her mammogram. She had to fight for it as her GP told her she didn't need one as she was too young to get Breast Cancer. No wonder so many youngsters are losing their lives to it when the mindset of the GP's is so bad.
Nighty night, sleep tight everyone

Just popped back to see what you have been up to and. Has it been decided yet whether we are keeping that blooming cat. Well if we are can I suggest either a flea collar or even better can we shave it. If we do shave it I think it wouldn't affect my allergy.
ReplyDeleteJanice, you have seen Andrea Bocelli, I am so jealous. I am deeply in love with that man. He's the only man I would swop my husband for. When he sings I go all woozy. I have every cd he has ever made and his biography as well. Haven't gone so far as putting up a picture of him, but that's only because I don't have one.
Myra, you are vertically challenged as well!! But my dear, you are taller than me.
Has anyone noticed Brenda and Muriel giggling in the corner. I love a happy drunk. Cheryl is a bit giddy as well. Isn't it nice to see such happiness.
Hugs Saba xxxx
If you are going to shave the cat it might be a tad chilly! Maybe Norah could design and knit a coat?!
DeleteI'm still ironing! Night night all! Xxx
Hope you ok Maria! I've missed you again! X
Myra, please tell me you are joking. Who does their ironing at midnight? Well apart from Hazel. Now don't get upset with me but I got lots of washing dry today and it has all been nicely put away and it never went anywhere near an iron.
DeleteNight night God bless. Xxxx
Hallo my dear, I'm suffering tonight and sitting here listening to the horrid weather outside. We have a really strong wind and the rain is pelting down so another sleepless night, sight. Maybe I should see doc. if I could get some type of sleep pill but I don't want any that make me groggy, I'm that already with some other meds. might join Brenda and Muriel over there for a celebration drink for our Cheryl, what a wonderful day for her. Hope you finished you ironing by now and are tucked up in bed. See you later
DeleteHugs Maria xx
Hi Sandra and all the coffee shop ladies. Sorry I'm late, fell asleep reading the comments last night before I could tell you all about our tea! I've caught up on today's news, what a lot of winners we have Amongst us, Jess and Norah if you get a beautifully decorated ransom note for the cat asking for all your winnings you will know it's from Muriel ! Cheryl my lovely, what a fantastic win for you, enjoy your goodies.
ReplyDeleteI had to laugh about Oliver and his palm cross sword, I can remember my daughter doing the same thing! Well it's something he will always remember.
Ladies I'm with you on dressing up to go out. I do like to put on something nice when I go out, even if we go out to a pub for a meal I wear smart black trousers and a top, unless we are out for a walk and call in. It didn't seem right when we went out for a meal in aberdeen last week wearing jeans but we had only taken clean t shirts and undies to travel light. I seem to live in jeans these days so make the effort to put a skirt on once in a while! I did wear a skirt and blouse for afternoon tea and high heels!
Tea was lovely, the hotel is a beautiful country hotel so the front door is opened for you and you enter to a big log fire and wellies lined up along the hearth for guests to borrow to walk around the estate! It was quite busy which surprised us, but afternoon tea is getting quite popular these days. We sat in the lounge by the window overlooking the grounds, lots of daffodils and a couple of squirrels. We had 10 choices of tea to drink, I went for Darjeeling and Julian had lapsing suchon. We started with a sandwich selection, cucumber, smoked salmon and cream cheese, ham and mustard and a little brioche roll with egg mayonnaise. There were fruit and plain scones with cream and jam, warm from the oven. To finish there were 4 cakes each. A banana and passion fruit macaroon, a choux bun filled with Apple and toffee with a lemon drizzle on it, a shortbread biscuit with chocolate mouse topped with a mint crisp and chestnut cream and finally a sponge base with a strawberry mouse on it and topped with a passion fruit jelly and a little meringue. Oh and I forgot, we started with an amuse busche of warm apple juice in a shot glass topped with a cinnamon foam. The whole lot was really delicious and I couldn't eat anything else for the rest of the day. We also had gallons of tea to drink so I had to visit the posh ladies loo too! I do like afternoon tea, it's rather decadent isn't it( and yes the cup handles were so small you had to stick your little finger out!). People having tea weren't too badly dressed, there were a couple of ladies in jeans but they didn't have rips in them. My mum wouldn't let us go anywhere in jeans , shopping was ok but not out to posh places. We used to put on our best clothes to go to London. When I occasionally went up to our head office in London I used to wear a suit and smart shoes and was horrified to see most people walking around wearing jeans. I could never do that. My dad used to work in London and always told me to wear something different to work every day as people notice what you wear . I still think it is true today. My lovely husband only wears bow ties, he doesn't look right in a long tie now (except for funerals). He has got quite a collection some with matching waist coats. Most of the time they don't wear ties at work but if he has a meeting, especially with a client he always looks smart and wears a tie.
I've just noticed the time! The clock in the lounge hasn't been changed yet! Whoops.
Sandra your card is beautiful ( how rude of me not to comment on that first - sorry). I had gold and cream today, I was wondering where you got the gold ribbon from!. It's a bit like that dress that was different colours to different people! Love your stick pins and the way the die gives a dotty boarder. So pretty.
Sorry me again, had to delete half my post as I was over the allotted number of words!!!
ReplyDeleteBtw cat wasn't me, not keen on cats especially as they like to use our garden as a toilet. My neighbour is the same and we have a good moan about the cats chasing our birds.
Must tell you about our daughter and eating out. We have always taken Emma out to eat from a young age so she used a knife and fork properly and isn't a fussy eater. She always tried things and would eat proper food rather than nuggets and chips. When my sister was 40 we went out for lunch at a posh restaurant and when my sister booked the table she was told they didn't like catering for children and she must behave. My sister told them very snootily that of course she would behave and would enjoy the roast dinner. Well there we were surrounded by old people who got up and wandered around, were rude to the staff, walked out half say through the meal to smoke etc. Emma's sat beautifully ( in a pretty dress with lovely plaits and hair ribbons) and was a delight. My sister took great delight in pointing out to the owner that her niece was shocked by the behaviour of the old people. Emma was about 3 or 4 at the time so we had a good laugh about that. We haven't gone back to that restaurant!
Well I must go to bed now, I must come in earlier tomorrow, had to get food shopping this morning and make Easter cards this afternoon as well as having 2 visitors.
Night night everyone sleep tight. Now, where's that cat....... Lol
Love Diane xxx
Hi Diane,
ReplyDeletewhat a wonderful tea, you must have had a fabulous day!
will ask in the morning where you went for your tea again as I presume you have gone to bed, have a good night
