Good Friday Morning Ladies,
I hope today finds you well, we had a glorious day yesterday it was warm and sunny, not that we could get outvin the garden because we were invaded by Tree Surgeons, not for our garden I hasten to add, for the adjoining garden at the end of ours, they knocked the door at around 8am wanting cars moved etc, I had to disappoint them as I was home alone and Paul had both car keys in his coat pocket, they then wanted me to get in and get the car outof park, (which I couldn't do without key anyway), so I called Paul for help and he could hear how stressed I was getting as the 4 men were still at the front door! So he ended up having to come home from work ! By the time he had made ut home they had managed to get their machinery onto our lawn and got their Truck backed right up to the shredder, but didn’t bother coming to tell me they had sorted it without needing cars moved, so Paul needn't have come home, but in all honesty I think he wanted to be here to keep an eye on them. 'Pollarding' trees should beca crime, that beautiful Willow tree, that was home to birds and squirrels is now an awful sad looking stump, we now look at the back of someone's house rather than watching the Willow leaves blowing in the wind 😥 Anyway rant over, we will need to wash cars at the weekend as both are covered in sawdust !!
Your Next Challenge
I thought that we would simplify things this week and make cards using 'Shades of One colour'
But: You can use Gold/Silver and Black/White/Cream or Kraft for your base cards or matting & layering! Adding gold/silver embossing really adds a touch of luxury to monochrome cards.
I hope you enjoy this challenge, there is so much inspiration on Pinterest, I also find working with one colour palette so much easier than trying to pair colours together!
********,
We went to see James Bond on Wednesday evening, now I am not and never have been a '007' fan' but I thoroughly enjoyed the film, it had a great story line, it was a very long film though, we got sat down at 8.30pm and film finished at just after 11.30pm. The girls really enjoyed it too, I did laugh at Lucy & Sophie, we always take our own sweets, we always have, especially having 4 children, I think the girls thought we were just being 'tight', they forgot to bring their water bottles with them, so I said just go and buy a drink (while in cinema), they went off but came back 5 minutes later with nothing, I asked where their drinks were, the response "Mum, we are Not paying £2.80 for a small coke, when we could buy two 2 litre bottles for same price!!! They do listen & learn after all !!!!
I hope that you all have a lovely weekend,
Love and hugs to all of you
Sandra

ReplyDeleteI think it is atrocious that you were not notified that the tree surgeons were coming Perhaps he thought your property wouldn’t be affected but still out of courtesy he should have told you
Dancing was good fun last night We are still having to do LFT’s but it feels like it is keeping us safe
I need to finish some cards this afternoon
Take care everyone xx
Hi everyone
ReplyDeleteLove all the cards on show to set the mood for next weeks challenge.
Sad to see the trees have to be cut down, it does look empty and ugly. The tree surgeons was not very helpful were they.
Having family coming for lunch, they will be here already at 11.30 so tried to prep as much as possible yesterday but still need to make the mash and meatballs cooked later.
Have cc to send so saying ,have a nice day everyone and look after eachother. Big hugs Maria xx
Hello Sandra and ladies,
ReplyDeleteLove all of your inspiration Sandra for next weeks challenge. I think I’m going to enjoy this, I do love a white and white card so it shouldn’t be difficult to do it in any other colour.… I hope.
Glad you enjoyed the film, I’m not a James Bond fan either, but this one has had very good and positive write-ups. Also it was a treat to be out with the family. I did have to smile about the girls refusing to buy water at 2:50 a bottle. Definitely a learning curve, they won’t forget their water next time over.
Maria I’m sure your visitors will enjoy your meal and all the time and trouble you have put into making it. Have a lovely afternoon.
Karen glad you enjoyed your dancing last night.
Janet good luck sorting out the passport, hope you get results.
Enjoy the rest of your day. Hugs rends xxx
Hi everyone
ReplyDeleteAnother great challenge for next week, and some lovely inspiration 😊
Sorry to hear about your ordeal with the tree surgeons, you should at least have been pre warned!
Glad you enjoyed the film. I don’t blame the girls for not buying the drinks there, the prices are ridiculous.
Janet hope you’ve got your passport sorted and fingers crossed it’ll be with you soon.
Maria, hope you’ve had a lovely day with your visitors.
Hope everyone has had a good day. Send hugs to you all xxx
