Good Sunday Morning Ladies,
Well what glorious weather we had yesterday we were back in t shirts outside. It makes such a difference to a day when it's sunny! We didn't do much, a few little jobs and then shopping and looking for a pot for my rose, we ended up getting a plain terracotta pot from the Range, the choice was disappointing to be honest. We went up to the craft department (ours is upstairs now) this is the first time the lift has been working, well we might as well not bothered, such a disappointment, they have loads of craft sets for children but hardly anything for crafters, I won't ever bother going up again! Apart from Hobbycraft there is nowhere else in Swindon itself and Hobbycraft aren't great. We also need a fine mesh wire panel to cover an air vent outside our bedroom window, as we can hear that thats where the mice get into the loft, we didn't have much luck so I will look on good old Amazon!!
Lynda, I hope you are ok sweetheart, I haven't heard from you in a while, sending love and hugs Xxx
Let's look at your cards .. .
Brenda
Brenda's Description:
I have managed two challenge cards this week, shock horror!
the first one I used SU Biggest Wish stamp and DS paper.
The second one the stamp and the sentiments are both Julie Hickeys
(Backing paper and ribbon courtesy of a special friend) xxx
Brenda has treated us to two amazing Challenge cards this week. What a great way to use the 'Biggest Wish ' stamp set, stamping the sentiment on vellum lets that bold background paper take centre stage!
I want to thank you for the inspiration of your second card, I have this stamp and keep putting off using it because it's small size puts me off. But I love your design, it works brilliantly. Thank you so much for two amazing Challenge cards XXX
Sonia
Sonia's Description:
Card 1:
This is an old panel I found amongst my bits waiting to be made into cards. The poppy stamp is from Inkylicious. I coloured the poppies with my pro markers and added some black sticklers to the centres.
Card 2:
I started making a panel ready for a card. I already had the inked background using distress inks and a memory box stencil. The border stamp round is Inkylicious. The main stamp and sentiment are AALL and Create, all using distress inks.
Oh Sonia, I have that Poppy Meadow stamp from Inkylicious and i had totally forgotten about it until i saw your card today, you have coloured it beautifully, just enough colour to make an impact, a perfect card for many occasions .
Your second card is stunning, I love the blended background colours and that flower stamp is amazing, I love how the stencil you have used around the card works perfectly as detail in the flower centre too. Thank you so much for taking part in this weeks challenge my lovely XXX
Karen
Karen's Description:
Cards 1 & 2 :
Here are 2 very simple cc
The tree comes in 3 parts It’s a bit faffy I think this is the first time I have actually used them
One in gold and one in silver The stamp set is CE O Christmas Tree
Card 2:
Here’s my third CC
It is Scripted Stars stamped twice on a DL size piece of navy card and heat embossed in white
Stamped them again on white
I fussy cut them and added glossy accents
Mounted the big stars on white cotton
The sentiment is from a magazine Cut and mounted using a perfect layers ruler
Finished with white Posca pen splats
Thank you so much for 3 lovely Challenge cards Karen, those first two cards are amazing I can't believe how cleanly they have embossed, usually stamps with such fine detail just don't emboss clearly. You can't go wrong with a Clean & Simple card. Your second card has so much detail, at first its the stars that you see but the closer you look the more detail you see, I can't wait to see the different looks you get from using that stamp. You can't beat Navy and White though !! Thanks again my lovely XXX
Lilian
Oh Lilian I love your gorgeous Iris card, I am guessing that this is an Aall & Create stamp, it looks like a Tracy Evans design, I love all the little extra details she adds, the really add interest when you stamp them around the main image like you have. Your stencilled background works beautifully with the Iris too, such clever use of colours. Thank you so much for taking part and making such an amazing card XXX
Maria
Maria's Description:
The other card I stamped this x-mas scene on the lake with
snowflakes around the corners.
The second card is from a Honkeydory kit, quick and easy
Hope you like them .
I love both of your amazing Challenge cards this week Maria, that Winter Scene you have stamped is beautiful, the snowflakes really add to the wintery feel.
Your second card is so pretty, that rose is stunning, such a beautiful colour too, you can't go wrong with a Hunkydory card kit, great for when you need a card in a hurry! Thank you so much my lovely XXX
Janet
Janet's Description:
Four amazing cards from our Janet for this weeks 'No Die' Challenge, Janet has covered both Birthday/Any occasion & Christmas with her range of Challenge cards this week. The Christmas cards have a lovely vintage look to them, you just can't beat the traditional old Christmas images, the Santa's always looked so authentic and believable back then. The Oriental image on your 3rd card is just so beautiful Janet, it belongs in a frame! Your fibal card is a lovely personalised travel themed card, I always think that adding the recipients name makes the card extra special. Thank you so very much Janet for 4 incredible Challenge cards.XXX

Love this week’s cards I found this challenge quite hard because I am so used to reaching for dies Since becoming a bit of an AALL & CREATE fan I am veering more towards stamping generally Plus I think my laptop has died
ReplyDeleteYesterday was a bit of potter about BUT I did hoover the house from top to bottom I finished a couple of cc and started some more crochet
Take care everyone xx
Morning Everyone
ReplyDeleteWhat a glorious array of craftyness this morning. I loveall of them.
Well something stirred the Passport Office up on Friday. Having said everything is OK with my Application I have had a request to supply a new Photo as the apparently something was in the background that shouldn't have been. Now having gone to a photo shop and had the photos taken and then submitted by a link I cannot see anything. Anyway we are going out to lunch (first time for well over a year) and then back to the photo shop and try again. Please wish me luck.
The CAFE doors are as always OPEn.
HUGs are on their way to yo all.PLEASE TAKE CARE AND STAY SAFE.xxxx
Hi everyone
ReplyDeleteA beautiful selection of cards today 😊
Karen, I’m sorry I forgot to say how wonderful your lemur was yesterday, he’s fabulous 😊
Sandra, I agree with you about the Range and Hobbycraft. I find them both quite disappointing, the only thing I generally buy in Hobbycraft is my card blanks.
We had a great time yesterday. The weather was lovely, but as soon as the sun went down I started to feel the cold. I wrapped up in plenty of layers and still ended up wearing Marks fleece lined hoodie/jacket which kept me warm 😊
Janet, how frustrating about your passport photo, I hope it gets sorted for you soon.
Hope everyone is well and has a good day. Sending hugs to you all xxx
Good morning everyone
ReplyDeletesome fabulous CC cards around this morning, I love them all.

Karen- hope you ok and can have a day of relaxation. See you soon.
Have a special card to make and getting a bit flustered about what to make and where to start. Have an idea in my head and have got the card base but that is so far. Hoping to get a bit further today, need it done by next Saturday.
Have a nice day everyone and many hugs are sent for you all, take care xxx
Hello, lovely day here today, really warm and sunny.
ReplyDeleteLovely array of cards again to day, I keep meaning to get multiple cards made, but it takes me so long deciding what designs to use, plus colours.
Quiet day here as usual, doing a jig saw that I had for my birthday, helps to take my mind off my aches and pains.
Hope you all have this lovely weather, Lilian
Hello Sandra and ladies,
ReplyDeleteGreat cards for this weeks challenge, it certainly was a challenge, usual I think what die should I use, so a good exercise for the grey cells!
Lovely to have Becca over for a family roast beef dinner. Hope Benji was on his best behaviour.
We had a very quiet and relaxing day, just how Sundays should be.
Take care everyone.
Sleep well, Love Brenda xxx
