Your Challenge Cards

Good Sunday Morning Ladies,

I hope you are all okay, well the weather was a bit of a wash out yesterday, it rained pretty much all day. it was cold too, when we went shopping I got my big coat out,  actually it must be the first time time I had worn it since losing weight, it was very roomy!!

I know that this weeks challenge pushed some of you right out of your comfort zone, you wouldn't think it looking at your cards, some amazing cards this week.....

Karen

Karen's Description:

Card 1: ! I have made this card for a work colleague He’ll be getting a big one signed by all of us but wanted to send my own. He’s a sort of IT manager (more involved than that!) So I thought the old fashioned typewriter was quite apt. Old DO’d background with a sunrise stencil and the text script stamped in Hickory Smoke The typewriter is stamped with Versafine and watercoloured from a magazine freebie.

Card 2 & 3:

Here’s 2 challenge cards The first is distressed/weathered wood using Shabby Shutters and Peacock Feathers DI and Sizzix Hanging Basket dies The second is Mango Blaze Candy Pink and Burnt Orange PP on top of Super Thick Slap It On (Indigoblu) through a Honey Doo stencil It does have a nice shimmer

Card 4:

Here’s another cc inspired by Pinterest This time I used a beige card from Lidl Scored at 1” intervals and lightly swiped with Weathered Wood Vintage Photo Wild Honey and Antique Linen (wow that goes dark on beige card!) I then very gently dry brushed some gesso over the top The daisies are JL and used Nuvo drops to create centres X-cut foliage A bit of twine and some Tim Holtz words I’m enjoying playing with Distress Inks again and creating this distressed/weathered wood look Hope you like it

Karen I love your cards, you have created some incredible backgrounds this week, I absolutely love the faux wood ones.  I am so pleased that you enjoyed playing with something different this week.
Thank you so much for taking part in this weeks challenge XXX

Sonia

Sonia's Description:

I inked an acrylic block with distress oxides and spritzed with water to get the watercolour effect used for the background and the butterflies. The sentiment is from LOTV. I love using this technique for quick/simple cards as I find it quite effective and versatile.

I love that technique too Sonia, although I haven't tried it with Distress Oxides, I must try that, it might be a simple technique but its really effective, those butterflies work perfectly too.  Thanks so much my lovely for taking part.

Janet

Janet's Description:

My CC this week is made as follows:

It is the cover of a new A5 journal made in heavy duty linen.

I used PRIMA WATERCOLOUR INK -PEACOCK BLUE- for the base.

I then added TONIC NUVO GLITTER on top.

My STAMERIA DANCER (made out of greyboard) is covered in CREATIVE EXPRESSIONS FROSTED SKY PASTE.

The phrase is also greyboard and I used LABLANCHE MIXED MEDIA LIQUID - COLOUR 'DORN'.

Thank you so much Janet, such an inspirational piece, that Peacock Blue with the glitter over creates a gorgeous background. I love that sentiment too!!  Thank you for taking part in the challenge XXX

Lilian

Lilian's Description:

This card is stencilled with oxides, through a leafy Tim Holtz stencil, and then stamped over with versa mark and embossed with copper kettle, set of leaf stamps from stamping up from a few years ago.

Ooh Lilian that background is lovely, those leaves really stand with the embossing too.  Thank you so much for taking part in this weeks challenge XXX

Maria

Maria's Description:

I used fine glitter in the card Hello in different colours and then I used a part of the die Oslo on top The butterfly is new for me from Creative Creations.

My other card I used Pixie Powders, I ran it through the cutting machine with an EF . After I used a Woodware stamp with some flowers and bird and heart from another set of stamps.

Hope they are alright for this week CC

Maria thank you so much your cards are so lovely, Your Pixie powder background is beautiful, I love that Wildflower is so pretty too.  That fine glitter makes such a lovely background but I understand that its very messy, I always managed to get the colours mixed up lol!  Thank you so much for taking part XXX

  1. Morning Ladies
Mehta a lovely selection of challenge cards today. I’m struggling with crafting at the moment-no inspiration or interest. I’m blaming work as it’s been quite difficult so I’m hoping that my week off helps.

We have glorious sunshine already which makes a lovely change from yesterday, think we might be doing some gardening today.

  2. Beautiful ideas ladies I did have fun this week It just so happened that Tracy Evans posted a video this week doing the distressed wood technique using DI I’m going to try with DO but I think they’ll be too opaque...? Amazing what you can do on the back of a piece of Centura card!
Yesterday was a bit of a washout wasn’t it Today is looking promising OH is about to go and have his second jab Hopefully he won’t have any bad reactions
    Take care all x

  3. Morning Everyone
A lovely set of CCs this morning.
I have to confess that this Challenge really pushed me out of my comfort zone/box but I do like the result and it's the cover of a new craft journal so it will be in constant use.

Yesterday was horrendous. We got wet going out to the car to start the shopping trip and absolutely soaked on our way back. Two drowned rats weren't in it.lol

The CAFE is OPEN and it's Roast beef with usual veg and for afters Bakewell Tart -place your orders.
HUGS on their way to you all.PLEASE TAKE CARE AND STAY SAFE.xxxx

She was supposed to get some assignments done at college but came home to see to her goat. She has to have some more injections. The vet showed Amber what to do and let Amber give the first injection so she'll know what to do today.

  7. Hi everyone
A wonderful selection of cards today, they’re all lovely.
Better weather here today but still a bit breezy. Managed to have a bit of a tidy up in the garden. All finished now apart from the decking - which, after pulling out the garden furniture, we found is actually rotten in one corner! Not sure when we will get that done, but we will manage with it for now.
Have a lovely day everyone. Sending hugs to you all xxx

What a lovely display of challenge cards today, they are all so very different.
PAT love your Groovi cards, you must have the patience of a saint, every card you make is really beautiful and always perfect.
Sorry I didn’t get it to make a card this week. yesterday I struggled all day with a migraine hadn’t had one for years, my eyes felt as though they had needles pushing in them, my head was thumping like a drum and then on top of that I had an upset tummy. Did have a good nights sleep and am ok (ish) today just my eyes - but nothing like yesterday.

Hope you are enjoying your weekend.
Take care everyone and stay safe.
    Love Brenda xxx
