Good Morning Ladies,
Please join me in wishing our lovely Michele a Very Happy Birthday, I hope that you have a lovely day spending quality time with Phil, I hope that you get to have a lovely lunch out somewhere nice and the rest of the day relaxing and doing something that you love XXX 🎂🍾🎉🎈❤
It was a blustery day here yesterday but fine and dry, I didn't make much use of the morning though, I felt physically exhausted, mostly due to lack of sleep I think, which exacerbates my heart condition. Paul instructed me to stay in bed and try and catch up on sleep, it worked, I got a couple of hours sleep which did help. We spent a couple of hours in the garden which also feels like therapy! Is there anything more frustrating than after nurturing your seedlings, tending them daily, gently potting them on so that they are strong enough to be planted out, only to discover that some pesky pest has eaten the leaves off of half of your seedlings!!🤬😡!! After some research it looks like the most likely pest that causes this damage is...... the Woodlice / Roly Poly/ percy ( I have no idea why we were bought up calling them a 'percy') that wasn't what I was calling them yesterday!! Now I don't want to kill them so we have to work out how to trap them, they are really good to have in your compost heap as they are basically 'composters' !
Now onto today's card, I had a go at embossing and colouring direct onto Kraft card. I used a HoneyDoo leaf stamp with Versamark ink to stamp a random pattern over a piece of Kraft card that I had dusted with an anti static bag. I covered the stamped card with Gold Embossing Powder and then heat set, now I was going to colour the leaves with my Polychromo pencils, I tried a test leaf on a spare piece of kraft card and it took too long to get a decent blend, so I thought I'd try my Zig Clear Colour Watercolour markers, I used a Turquoise and Indigo pens, blending the two together with the lighter (Turquoise) pen. I think that despite being Watercolour markers they worked brilliantly on the absorbant Kraft card. I did have a bit of chopping and changing with choosing the sentiment....
