Good Friday Morning Ladies,
Well I can honestly say that I am glad that this week is over. We all have these weeks I guess, I have thrown myself into Crafting as a coping mechanism.
Your Next Challenge
I thought that this week we could all try a 'New Technique or Style '.
We are always learning new craft techniques all of the time, card styles too, so I though that we could all try that this week. Maybe you could use a new method of colouring or try Vintage or Shabby Chic, maybe Clean & Simple or Steampunk try watercolouring.
New techniques could include anything, Stencilling, Masking Off, Embossing, Bokeh (circles) technique, you could use a Gelli Plate or just use a brayer. There are endless techniques and styles that you could try.
I used the 'Ghosting ' technique, I loved making this card, I also used 'Masking' to make this card. I decided that I was going to use Kraft card to create the background for my technique, I used a white ink pad to stamp the first or 'Ghost' layer, I used an Altenew stamp set, I stamped the flower, then masked it off and stamped the leaves, I then over stamped in Berry Burst and Old Olive ink, slightly off setting the stamp so that you get a narrow white or 'ghost' edge. You have to make sure the white layer is dry before adding the colour. The sentiment I stamped on a piece of white card in Berry Burst ink, I matted it onto Berry Burst ink and placed it above the flower. I matted the Kraft card front onto Berry Burst card and then onto a white mat and finally onto a Kraft card base.
I am really pleased with how it turned out.
I hope that you all have a lovely weekend,
Love and hugs to all of you,
Sandra xxxxxx
Morning Ladies
ReplyDeleteLovely card Sandra & a great challenge for next week.
Yesterday was very busy at work then just as I was leaving Tesco there was torrential rain and I got soaked ! I couldn’t get warm all evening after that. I was glad to go to bed.

Morning Everyone
ReplyDeleteLooks a good Challenge for this week SANDRA.
I cannot believe it's got round to my 'swear' word day so you all know what's on my agenda today.
The CAFE is OPEN ready and waiting.HUGS are winging their way to you all.PLEASE KEEP SAFE AND TAKE CARE whatever you all do.xxxx
Great idea for a challenge There are a few techniques I would really like to try We’ll see
ReplyDeleteI love your card and again something I have never tried
It has been a terrible week for you and no wonder you’re pleased it’s over
The weather looks calmer and I can feel a little bit of heat coming through the window We don’t have any plans except OH is going to buy a BBQ today I have no idea what kind AND he doesn’t cook which is a bit ironic so I expect we’ll be experimenting!
Take care all xx
Hello Sandra and ladies,
ReplyDeleteHasn’t this week flown by, can’t believe it’s Friday already.
Great new challenge, although I haven’t completed this weeks yet, did play with my alcohol inks yesterday. I think they’re only fit for the bin so I have to put my thinking cap on again. I love your inspiring card Sandra.xx
We are having visitors this afternoon and son Dominic is coming over with his girlfriend to visit for a few hours, it will be lovely to see them. It’s well over since we last saw Charlotte, we saw Dom last summer when he came over with his two brothers. We have had regular phone and zoom calls so have kept in touch.
Better get a move on they should be here very soon.
Take care everyone, love Brenda xxx
OOPS ...... GRANDSON Dominic
ReplyDeleteHi everyone
ReplyDeleteA beautiful card and great challenge for next week π
I still haven’t made a card for this weeks challenge yet, but am still hopeful.
Barney looks lovely after his groom yesterday and he smells gorgeous too. He knew where he was as soon as we got there (only his second time) and was so excited to go in and be ‘pampered’ ☺️
Hoping everyone has a good weekend. Sending hugs to you all xxx
Hi Sandra and all in the Cafe today. A really different card for you and I love it. Never heard of the ghosting technique but it gives a lovely soft effect doesn’t it. Another one for my “must try” list.
ReplyDeleteI hope you can get out into the garden with Paul over the weekend so you can try and loose yourself in pricking out seedlings etc. Big hugs are on their way to you my lovely xx
Karen, Chris does just about all of the cooking, which he loves so very different to your OH but most of the men who don’t cook indoors turn into budding chefs once they get a BBQ don’t they π xx
Brenda, what lovely news. You will be having a wonderful time getting to actually see your Grandson and his girlfriend at long last xx
Sonia, I bet Barney had grown so much since we last saw him. Could we see a photo of him looking smart xx
The weather has been up and down all day here since starting with a very misleading gorgeous clear blue sky at 6am π Sending love and hugs to you all with extras for all in need. Take care xx
Yes of course Sue, I’ll post a picture of him on the messenger group πΆπ xx
DeleteBeautiful card Sandra, another technique to try so would it suit for next weeks challenge ?
ReplyDeleteBarney is so handsome and so so cute Sonia. If OH wasn't allergic I might have had a dog, probably a puppy from my sister for her dogs are wonderful.
Brenda, how lovely to see your grandson and his girlfriend. So nice when we can start meeting up with family again.
Son got his girlfriend coming over end of May from Portugal, it's a long time since they met first time,Jan -20 and then came covid.
Had a walk this morning but found it harder so not looking forward to the injections but hoping they will give me some months easier, shame they don't work for ever.
Sorry being so late but did forget this morning after looking in something else came up so forgot. Going to send my CC now so I wish you all a good night. Hope you have a better night Sandra, take care.
Many hugs for you all, Maria xx
