Your Next challenge

Good Friday Morning Ladies,

Today is going to be another long day for us, unfortunately Paul knows exactly what to expect this time so he's more nervous I think, what makes it worse is that he has to wait until 6pm, I'm sure the girls and I will keep him entertained!  Plus he wants to get ahead with work as he won't have a 'good eye' to use until Wednesday.   Fun days ahead!  I am so hopeful that this last operation works and his sight is restored.

Your Next Challenge

As we are getting closer to the time that we all need to have our Christmas cards all made and ready to post, we get to thinking about the cost of posting out pile of cards. I know that I will try to make the cards that I have to post as flat as possible.  Gone are the days of the big 8 X 8 boxed cards!! 🤣

With all that in mind I thought that I would make this weeks Challenge...... Make a Flat Card !          One that would fit through the standard card slot at the Post Office.                                                                   So time to get your stamps out maybe!  You could still use Embossing Folders, dies etc.

The card I made (above) on Wednesday afternoon while having a play with my Distress Oxides is a good example of a "flat' card.  I used a mixture of Distress Oxides blended over a piece of card, I placed a Mask over the inked background and spritzed water over, after a few seconds I rolled over the mask with my kitchen roll and repeated across the card. I gave the card a quick blast with heat tool to dry the excess moisture before I heat embossed the sentiment that I stamped in Versamark,  adding gold Embossing powder.  I love how just adding water over a mask gives such lovely detail to the otherwise plain background,  it looks almost like a Damask pattern.

I really hope you enjoy the Challenge ladies,

Have a lovely Weekend,

Love and huge hugs to all of you ❤,

Sandra                                                                              xxxxxx

  1. Morning Ladies

Sandra-your card is gorgeous & works perfectly for the new challenge.

Fingers crossed that everything is ok for Paul later in today.

I’m off into work early today as we have 3 prem babies that need IV nutrition which is a total of 9 bags to manufacture-plus three adults and a busy chemo list. I’ll be glad when I finish work today.

Great challenge idea We have to think of costs don’t we In fact I seem to send less and less just lately and would much rather make a donation to charity Although this year I will probably send more because of lockdowns and no dancing!

  4. Hi Sandra & ladies
Hope today goes ok for Paul Sandra. That’s a lng time to wait today though isn’t it.
That’s a lovely flat card you’ve made. I think most of mine are flattish cards.
Well ladies I’ve received an email yesterday in my junk mail from a Mr Edwards. He was informing me that my ATM card was ready to be sent loaded with $1,750,000. I had to sent him my details. No bank details though. However, I would have to pay a courier fee and would be able to track its journey. Scams get more sophisticated than ever don’t they. I managed to get 2cwalks in yesterday. I’m hopeful I can do the same today. I have my car Mot’d at 12.30 then seeing Doreen at 2.00.
Hugs to all who need one today. Take care & stay safe everyone.

  5. Morning ladies,

I've just caught up with several posts and the gorgeous cards.
Good wishes to Paul for his next op, Sandra I hope it will mean better sight for him.

Thank you for asking after me Karen. I'm back in 'me' mode again, I decided not to become a victim more a warrior. Although I have been struggling to get a BP monitor and cuff to work over the last week and finally reasoned the battery had run out after so many error messages.

I've got totally lost in my bed and craft rooms. I've collected a vast amount of 'stuff' that needed sorting and which has nowhere to go until this next lockdown is over when I can get back out into the wide world. I don't think the Charity shops will be taking donations just yet.
Being only open for 3 months then another shutdown has seriously impacted on the amount of goods they would normally to be able to sell before Christmas. Oh well, I'm stuffing it in the shed/loft until a proper sort out can be done next year.

New Katy Sue moulds have arrived in the last couple of days from sellers on Craft Declutter (so much cheaper than full price). I've also purchased 2-3 different types of air dried and foam clay and some Prima oven dried to have a weekend off to play with it all. Results to follow.

One of my granddaughters has very kindly sent me a photo that downloaded on my Tablet through Facebook which had a virus. Thank goodness for MacAfee catching, quarantining then getting rid of it, although I have reset passwords just to be on the safe side. I found out the next day that she had put a message up to say she had been hacked 3 hours later when someone else had complained to her. And to think I'm a technophobe lol.

However you spend your weekend stay safe.

    Love 7 hugs
    Cheryl xxx

My week have not gone accordingly to plan so I have not been crafting as much as I had liked but trying you make something for Sunday. I think the state of my crafting station do nothing to help and then I gone and bought some more 👀🙈😊 it's dangerous to sitting up too late at night😁 have saved anyway not being able to go to craft shows so.
Cold and very wet day so no walk again and no mojo,😩
Take care everyone and stay safe ! Hugs, Maria xx
