Pretty Grunge Flower
Good Morning Ladies,
I hope that you are all well, it sounds like you have all been experiencing some Wild Weather, for once it has been quite sunny here this past couple of days, chilly breeze though. Just having that little bit of sunshine makes such a difference to the day though!
Lucy and Sophie asked me to Thank all of you for your lovely Birthday wishes yesterday, we had a lovely light lunch out together along with some shopping and finished the day with a lovely family dinner. x
I discovered that it pays to speak out yesterday too, Lucy had seen a pair of Boots that she liked online at Topshop, she was unsure of the size so I suggested that we go and try them on before buying them, the bonus was that they were in the sale and reduced from £39 to £25. So we went into Topshop and Lucy tried a couple of different sizes, she made her choice and we went to the till, she did point out to me that they weren't on the sale rack and also didn't have a sale ticket on, they still showed as £39, I said we will see what they do at the till, I handed her the boots and she scanned them in at the full price, it was then that I said that ''They are in the sale online and you can 'click and collect' in store, so why are they not in the sale in store'', I showed her the shoes on their website and she then typed in a code from inside the Boots and said 'oh yes, they are in the sale for £25', I know that had I not spoken up she would definitely have carried on and charged us the full price, so it really does pay to check online and speak out if in doubt (something I usually shy away from). I did also say that they should be on the Sale racks with the other Sale products.
Today's 'Grunge' card was made with the Stampin Up! 'You Got This' stamp set, it is a retired set that I have liked for a long time and I managed to pick it up for £10 last week, you get that beautiful flower and the Background stamp too as well as a couple of sentiments.
I stamped the background with Grey Granite ink and stamped the 'Thanks' with the same ink too, I then inked around the edges of the card to soften the harsh white edges.
I stamped the flower on a separate piece of card and added Clear Embossing Powder and heat set as this allows you to use different colour mediums, I ended up using my Pencils to colour the flower, I used three different shades of yellow and blended them together and a couple of greens for the stem and leaves, I then 'fussy cut' the flower and inked around the edges to try and reduce the white cut lines. I popped some foam pads to the back of the flower and placed it on the centre of that stamped background.
I really love the combination of yellow and grey! I hope you like my card too.
I hope that you all have a lovely day,
love and hugs to all,
Sandra
