Mixed Craft Saturday featuring Michele's

Good Satuday Morning Ladies,

I hope that you are all well and have prepared yourselves for storm 'Dennis's arrival!!  Not as windy but a lot more rain for us, I pray that you all stay safe and dry.  We went and did our 'errands' yesterday afternoon so that we didn't need to go out in the bad weather.

The first card up today is another of my projects for the 'inlovearts' dies, this particular one was a die that embossed clouds into the background of your card, I wasn't sure what to add to start with as a lot of dies I tried were too big.  I decided to mask of the clouds and add blue ink to the background and then remove cloud masks to reveal fluffy white clouds.  I turned around to show Sue my progress and out of the corner of my eye I spotted a magazine freebie stamp set that I had sorted to be put away, it had the Hot air balloons and sentiments to match  do I stamped and coloured them, then fussy cut and added foam pads to lift them, to finish I added some birds flying off into distance and the sentiment.

Karen

Karen has been putting the amazingly priced Aldi multi coloured yarn to great use making more monsters from her Kerry Lord book. I just love the quirky little things!

This cute knobbly knee'd Ibis, is Karen's latest addition to the A-Z of Animals that she is Crocheting for Oscar, such a lovely idea.

Karen's Description :

''I finished this earlier I am doing alphabet of animals for Oscar and was struggling for “I” and when I bought the dinosaur book there was an offer to join the bird club at silly money and had a picture of a red ibis So I cobbled my own version from different birds in the book I have.'' Karen you are so incredibly talented when it comes to anything Crochet, your made up Ibis is just brilliant, nobody would ever know that it wasn't straight from a 'pattern'.  Oscar is going to treasure this incredible collection forever.
Thank you so much for sharing it with us XXX

Janet's Altered Box

Janet has made this amazing Altered Box in a style that is perfect for the men in our lives, the box has so much detail including the lock on the front, it's all MDF including the Cogwheel embellishments that Janet has used to embellish the box with, I love that paper too.

I will add Janet's description below:

''The box is from MADHATTERS which came as a flat pack. The papers are from LEBLANCHE and the decorations are MADHATTERS.''

Thank you so much Janet, it's great to see a box decorated with a Masculine style. XXX

Michele's Magazine Review

Hi Ladies,

Diecutting Essentials has a really lovely set of Dies free this month.

This is the first feature showing what you can make using the free gift.

More ideas showing you ideas other than cards.

Great article on Faux Embossing using diecuts.

Lovely feature on Stepper cards, perfect for that special occasion.

Interesting article on watercolours & Embossing.

That’s all for this week,
Happy Crafting

Michele

Another great Review Michele thank you so much, the free gift is brilliant,  I like Paula's Die range, you can see that they ate designed by a crafter.
Some great technique features too, they really seemed to have 'upped their game' as far as content goes.
Thanks again for writing the review Michele XXX

That's all for today ladies, we are off to Stamperama in Stevenage tomorrow, I know Karen is going with some of her craft friends, Sue is coming too, not sure about Maria, I hope so, it's so special to be able to chat and share your craft shopping with your friends.

Have a lovely weekend ladies,

Love and hugs to all of you,

Sandra

  1. Morning Everyone
Thank you for showing my box SANDRA. I really enjoyed doing this one as it's a bit different from my style of boxes.
It was so easy to put together and Lablanche papers are a dream to use. My stamps are now resting inside and at least one shelf in my crafting corner looks a bit tidier.lol

At the moment things are quiet here weather wise. The floor is wet but no wind so fingers crossed it stays that way until we're back from shopping. It's our morning to meet Jim's Niece for coffee.

The CAFE is OPEN so pop in for a cuppa and perhaps cream tea this afternoon.
HUGS are winging their way to you all. Please take care and stay safe xxxx

Sandra-your Card is brilliant, really great.

Karen-I love all your crochet creatures & I’m sure Oscar will too.

Janet-your altered MDF box is fantastic, perfect for Stamp storage.

It’s already getting “breezy “ here & we have 3 days of Storm Dennis forecast here. Luckily we’re not planning on doing much.

Your box is lovely JANET I don’t know if it’s lack of mojo or laziness but I have an ink holder and ribbon holder that took me nearly a year to get out of the boxes and they just sit there now in all of their mdf glory!
Thank you MICHELE for the mag review I have a couple of SW Striplet dies so I’ll pass on this one
I am thoroughly enjoying my crochet Kerry Lord’s (TOFT) books are easy to follow and they’re pretty quick to make I have another 6 letters to do I am struggling for “N” and “X” as neither of these letters are covered in the books
Weather here seems quite mild at the moment
OH at PARKRUN and I don’t think we intend to do much afterwards So the crochet will be out after finishing the ironing

  5. Hi Sandra & ladies
Lovely card today and I actually saw this one in the flesh so to speak. I seemed to have missed yesterday’s blog though, probably because I was out most of the day.
Fabulous makes Karen for Oscar. Great mixed media from Janet as well. Lovely mag reviews as well Michele, thanks for that. I do enjoy looking at them even though I no longer do stamping.
Enjoy Stevenage ladies, a shame I’m not going but I’ll be in Colchester. I went out yesterday to get a card for Luke & Helen ( a your expecting card ) which don’t seem to exist. I was also going to get Bet a 90th birthday card, but completely forgot to get one. Even though I’d been in 7 card shops, so I had to go this morning. I’d popped up to Karen’s first and Keith asked was I shopping for a memory. I forgave him as he’d been out and bought me a lovely Gerbera plant. He’s really thoughtful like that, just isn’t bothered that the house is falling to pieces inside and out.
Stay safe everyone. I hope my drive to Colchester isn’t to bad tomorrow morning.
