Decorated Pine Dies Card

Good Monday Morning Ladies,

I hope that you had better weather than we did this weekend, the rain was torrential and created really flooded roads.   We had to go food shopping yesterday, we try to time it between showers, which was fine on the way out but we ended up hovering at the exit of the supermarket waiting for the rain to ease before dashing to the car, poor Paul got soaked as he has to unload shopping,  put wheelchair in the car and return the trolley,  he looked like a drowned rat by the time he got back to the car.  The wind eased though and late afternoon the sun did come out for an hour or so, which was a nice end to the weekend.

Janet I hope that you are feeling ok, sending you gentle hugs xxx

Today's card I made yesterday afternoon,  I used a new die set that I haven't used yet, its called 'Decorative Pine' Dies.

I used Evening Evergreen card with a frame made using  Phil Martin's Triple Debossed Rectangle Dies, I die cut two to give a little height to the frame,  I then die cut all of the other elements,  the pine branch, the bauble in gold glitter and gold mirror card for the outline.  I cut a piece of Very Vanilla  card to fit behind the frame, I stamped the sentiment in the bottom corner of the card in versamark and then added Gold Embossing powder and heat set. I layered all the pieces on the card and then adhered the pine branch to the frame, it's not easy to see in the photo that the branch is cut glitter card, for that extra Christmas sparkle.  I added the little hanging piece for the bauble and then the bauble that I had added a foam pad to to lift it from the background.  To finish the card I added 3 sparkly stars.  Something a little different and quite  simple.  (Thanks to Pinterest for the inspiration). 😍

I hope that you all have a great start to the week,

Sending my love and hugs to you all,

Sandra                                                                                  xxxxxx

  5. Hello everyone, very wet and windy again, gales forecast for tonight.

Sorry I missed yesterday, loved all the cards you all did.
Like the challenge for this week, while I was looking for my embossing folder, came across a set with stamps ,embossing folder and dies that I bought years ago, still in their original packets. So will see if I can do something with them.

Still have my covid cough, it’s only a little cough but very irritating.
How are you both after your vacation? Feeling better I hope, also that Matt is on the mend.

Stay safe in the windy weather, Lilian
