A stencilled Card

Good Morning Ladies,

I hope that you are all having as good a day as possible.  The temperature has certainly dropped a few degrees, it was really chilly when I opened the windows this morning,  I love it, it feels very cleansing,  I always feel like that cool crisp will clear away stale, germ filled air on all the rooms, I do hear grumbling through, with it being chilly, so that fresh, crisp air doesn't clear moaning and negative energy 🤣😂

I had lovely day yesterday,  despite Paul going into work and the girls went off with a picnic for a long walk at a local beauty spot, Lucy is looking after Benji this week and wanted to wear him out, he is absolutely bursting with energy as I am sure that Our Sonia would agree, Lucy is back at work today so wanted to make sure he used up most of his 'wiggles', I bet he will bouncing like Tigger when she gets in from work.   Anyway my lonely day was made much brighter as Sue came over, we had a lovely crafty afternoon 😍

Today's card was made courtesy of Sue's 'Simply Cardmaking & Papercraft magazine Issue 235 free gift. Sue was using another one of the free gifts so I asked if I could borrow one of the stencils as I loved the look of one of the techniques featured in the magazine (Sue is doing us a review).

I took a whote piece of card and added as much ink (dye ink) as the paper will take, The next step is to run it through the die cutting machine using  the tan mat and the embossing sandwich, before you add the top plate though you place a Wet wipe/Baby White over the mask, you then run it through the machine,  as you do this the wet wipe 'bleaches' the ink off of the card whilst Embossing it at the same time.  The look is quite striking,  I did end up layering two baby wipes together as mine weren't that wet, once the ink was dry I lightly touched the embossed areas with Gold Gilding wax. To finish the card I used a small sentiment matted onto brushed gold card, I matted the embossed piece onto a narrow brushed gold mat and then onto a the base card which was covered with green card.  The final touches were a few iridescent sequins to catch the light.  I really enjoyed this technique and will definitely be having another go.  What do you all think??

Sending my love and hugs to all of you,

Sandra                                                                              xxxxxx

  3. Hi everyone
Nice card. I haven't used baby wipes on card before. Not what I remember anyway.
Have not done anything today for even if we had a fun day yesterday I am paying for it today so haven't gone far from the loo today and I feel so nauseated. Not sure which is worst.
Hope you all have a good day. Many hugs xxx

  4. Hello , I picked up my elastic stockings from the chemist today, they are really tight. R has to put the on as my back is too bad to bend down far enough to grip them. Hope they help with the swelling.

Another super card again today Sandra, glad you had a lovely craft day with Sue yesterday.

Another card in the bin this morning, hopefully I will have another try later.
Not much else going on daughter and son-in-law down tomorrow, so looking forward to seeing them. Wished we had moved to
London area years ago. Still all wise with hindsight.

Have a good evening all. Lilian

  5. Hi everyone
Love the card and such a great technique.
It has turned really cold, although the weather presenters keep saying it’s mild for this time of year! Perhaps it’s just me….I’m putting off having the heating on at the moment and making do with extra layers of clothing and a fleece blanket when I’m sitting on the sofa ☺️
Hope you’re all having a good day
Maria, hope you’re feeling better soon xx
Sending hugs to you all xxx
