Good Sunday Morning Ladies,
I have to say that I am more than ready for some warmer weather,, feeling cold all the time is just miserable! My circulation must have got worse as I don't remember our house being this cold last year. In the evenings I'm like a my Nan used to be, I have my supersoft throw over me, my feet in my heated feet warmer and a hot water bottle! Maybe I need to move somewhere hot !!
What are you all up to today? We have nothing planned as we did all our shopping etc yesterday. I am hoping to do one of my Tracy Evans Workshops, we are having Roast Beef and Yorkshire puddings today which is just what we need in this cold weather.
Let's look at your Projects....
Janet
Janet's Description:
I have made two cards carrying on with last week's Challenge.
I have made two cards carrying on with last week's Challenge.
My first card is made using papers from LABLANCHE 'LILAC' set and of course meets the 'Wings and Things' Challenge.
For my second card I expanded the WandT Challenge and used LABLANCHE 'TRAVEL' theme. I think the Hot Air Balloon uses the 'Things' part of the Challenge by Flying.
Janet thank you so much for taking part in the Wimgs & Things challenge, your cards are so lovely, those Lilac papers and embellishments are just so stunning π I love the air balloon card too, a great 'Man' card. Thank you once again XXX
Lilian
Page 1: Here is my journal page for this week, saw something similar on Pinterest. I used crackle paint through a Tim Holtz stencil, I’ve had the pot for ages but never used it, then used distress glaze and embossing powders. Some of the embossing powders were from the “stamp man” it was years ago. Included a close up so you can see the crackle. It flattened a bit when I straightened out the paper.
Page 2: Hi, here is my page for this week, I used a Christmas napkin plus Tim Holtz brick wall embossing folder. In fortunately the colour that I used for the brick although it was dry, the structure paste turned brown, so used white posca pen over the top,.
I absolutely love that beautiful Robin Lilian, such a pretty napkin, I must try 5his technique, I have some napkins in my stash. It's such a clever idea as it looks like a painting .
I have also included Lilian's Butterfly page that I forgot to add last week. It is stunning, I love the amount of texture that Lilian has achieved in the background. Thank you so much for taking part my lovely XXX
Sonia
Sonia's Description:
I’ve used Speckled Egg, Iced Spruce and Frayed Burlap distress oxides. The stencil is a Memory Box one. The sentiment is from Inkylicious.
For the page I’ve used weathered wood and kitsch flamingo. The stamp and stencil are from AALL and Create. The circle die is from Gummiapan. The little sentiment from Tim Holtz.
Sonia, I love both your colour and your page, the cover is so textured and the colours are amazing.
Your journal page is a real wow, I love the colours you have used and that stencilled background has so much depth and definition, your butterflies are beautiful too. Thank you so much for taking part in the Wings challenge. XXX
Sue

Hello All, another grey day here, still very cold.
ReplyDeleteThe pages/ cards are great, love the idea of using a balloon Janet. Love Sonia’s cover and page, very clever use of colours. Nice to see a card from Sue this week.
Going to do some more of the photo albums I am doing for my daughter’s birthday, it’s a face book live class, I missed it last night, but it’s always there so can catch up as you go.
Hope you all have a lovely day, Lilian
Hi everyone
ReplyDeleteWow a fantastic selection of cards and pages, I love them π
Sandra, I’m with you on moving to somewhere warm. I’m always so cold, the heating on and turned up as soon as I get home and usually by early evening I’m in my thick fleecy pyjamas with bed socks on!
Hope you managed to do Tracey’s workshop, will look forward to see your creation.
Maria safe journey home, always sad to leave when you’ve had such a lovely time.
Enjoy the rest of the day everyone. Sending hugs to you all xxx
Sue's Comment:
ReplyDeleteHi Sandra and all in the cafe today.
What a gorgeous selection of cards and pages today. I love them all. Thank you for your kind words about my card. It’s always so helpful to see the colours you have used together and also to see the different layers which I didn’t used to even notice or think about until starting to look at mixed media/art journal type of thing. I have a few pages that are very much in the early stages so there was no chance of getting one finished for today but I will carry on with them. I do need to get some of the words sheets, can’t remember their proper name. I think you have the Tim Holtz ones don’t you Sandra? Would you recommend them? Does anyone have some that you really like ?
Sonia, your journal cover is fabulous. It looks like it is MDF you have coloured and shaded it so well xx
Janet, your embroidery is beautiful, such a pretty piece. I do miss being able to cross stitch. I’m glad you are happy with your new bed xx
Maria, it’s great hearing what you are up to as you enjoy the snow. I do love it when everything is white and beautiful, as long as I can get indoors when I’ve had enough of the cold π xx
Lilian, fingers crossed that you will get sone help from your gynae appointment this week xx
Brenda, how nice to have good phone calls instead of the cold call type. I hope you are getting lots of rest. Do you use audio books? I can recommend Pam Ayers “Ayers on the air series 1-6” which I am listening to at the moment. Lovely to listen to and very funny xx
Karen, thank you for liking my card. You wouldn’t believe how long it took as I managed to flick one of the frame dies I was trying to pick up and it is still missing! Both Chris and I have searched for it high and low with no joy. Do you know where you will donate your wonderful animals to? Make sure you’ve got photos of them all xx
I have a couple of Gems work shirts that need some extra modesty buttons and button holes sewing so that’s my job when I finish here. Then back to my journal pages . I can’t wait to sit and craft with you Sandra π I hope Lucy feels better soon xx
Love to you all xx
