Your sparkle & Shine Challenge Cards

Good Sunday Morning Ladies,

I hope that today finds you relaxed, how's your weekend going so far?   We decided to brave the shops today to get started on the Christmas shopping,  my Sister is coming to visit the weekend before Christmas which will be lovely,  it will be the first year that we haven't driven to Colchester the week before Christmas to do the present run, I was going to suggest not bothering this year because we just didn't want to do the journey,  particularly as we would either have to do the 185 (at least) to my sisters house and drive back the same day, my joints just cannot take being in the car for the best part of 400 miles in one day! I would be stuck in bed for days, which isn't helpful thos time of year, anyway my sister rang and said "can I come to visit you as you have done the journey every year for past 25 + years so I thought it was our turn" which is so thoughtful and I am very grateful.   So we need to get the gifts for my two sisters and their families, I will send my brothers separately.  I just need to feel like I'm making so progress.

Lilian

Lilian's Description:

The stamp is a freebie that I had in a goodie bag, it’s docraft, are they still going?
Stamped in versa mark and the used four different gold embossing powders. They are much more sparkly in the had. Have a good week, Lilian

Oh Lilian such a lovely Tree, I love the Ombre effect that you have achieved with embossing powders too, its so effective!  Thank you so much for taking part my lovely XXX

Brenda

Brenda's Description:

Card 1
I have been playing with Sweet Poppy - Stencils Dimension paste, I used it to create this Christmas tree, then added glitter to add colour it, the glitter was left over from a previous card on which I had used Lime and Gold glitter. So waste not ….. as my mother would have said, turned out to be a great positive, the mixture of the two created a lovely sparkle for my tree! I hop the photo picks it up.

Card 2
Is a very quick card the die cut is a First Edition die placed on silver holographic card, I have tried to pick up the glow on my photo.

Oh Brenda that Christmas tree is stunning, The Lime and Gold Glitter have created the perfect combination  such a beautiful sparkly card.  That Holographic card works so well behind that lovely silhouette die cut, it gives a lovely warming glow. Thank you so much for taking part on this weeks challenge my lovely XXX

Sonia

Sonia's Description:

I’ve used a Tonic punch for the little snowflakes on the black card, backed with silver glitter card. The single snowflake is from Memory Box. The sentiment from LOTV.

A very sophisticated card Sonia, I could see these boxed in a High End Department store! Absolutely stunning Sonia, finished to perfection as always.  Thank you so much for taking part XXX

Karen

Karen's Description:

Here’s 2 cc for this week

1st is a birthday card daughter asked for (tomorrow is deadline) So I printed image on glossy photo paper

2nd is Aall and Create stamped and embossed in silver matted onto silver mirri embossed with SueW EF and cut the 25 on ScanNCut

Wow what fantastic cards, any toddler would love receiving a card with their favourite Character on. A great idea for using those date stamps from Aall&Create Karen!!

Thank you so much for 2 fantastic challenge cards XXX

Janet

Janet's Description:

These two cards were made using TONIC dies with embellishments from my stash drawers.

Oh these are so lovely Janet, the metallic card looks amazing and makes the card look so rich and opulent. The ribbon threaded through the die cut gives a real luxurious touch, 2 beautiful cards,  thank you so much for sharing them with us XXX

Maria

Maria's Description:

"I made a Penguin card with stripy shiny paper as background

and then coloured in the penguins with pens a few snowflakes
and some glitter with the glitter pen.
On my second card I used blue-ish /green glitter embossing powder
to make the snowflakes. Glitter card underneath and a glitter sticker
Bear with his tree."

Maria thank you so much for two fantastic Challenge cards are those the Penguins from the Stamping Magazine? They are so cute, your colouring has given them real character too. They are adorable,  I love the sparkle on their hats! I really love that candle die cut, that embossing background is perfect for it too.  Thank you so much for taking part my lovely XXX

  1. Morning Ladies

Just thought I’d pop in to view your lovely cards.
We had very strong winds plus heavy rain yesterday, it was still very windy last night. Guess I’ll have to brave it up to the top of the garden to check the greenhouse I haven’t been up to check it after Storm Arwen!

We’re thinking of putting up the Christmas decorations, probably it the outside lights though as it’s still windy.

Lovely cards ladies I still need to make more Christmas cards So this week’s challenge will help I hope I’m not being a party pooper if I say I wouldn’t mind a break ~ I know we don’t have to take part but don’t like letting you down But I have a stash of cards that I haven’t sent Some of which are not really appropriate to people I send cards to Maybe I could donate them to a charity shop or something

  3. Hi everyone
A fantastic selection of cards today, they’re beautiful 😊
Sorry I didn’t get in yesterday, the day just flew by! Thank you for sharing your magazine review, and the free dies look great 😊
Karen, I love your ‘mini me’ doll, and the stand is fab 😊
What I thought was just a 24 hour cold now seems to have come out in full vengeance 🙁 Typical just as I’m off work for a few days with so much to do. We’re out to lunch today to celebrate Marks aunts 70th birthday, I’ve taken a lateral flow test this morning, negative thankfully but I can’t taste anything. Tomorrow I’m booked to have my hair coloured, and on Tuesday, Mark and I are going Christmas shopping. Im dosing myself up so fingers crossed it helps to make me feel a little better.
It will be lovely Sandra with your Sister doing the ‘present run’ journey and gives you and Paul a much needed break. Im planning on doing our deliveries the weekend before but fortunately my brothers are quite close by, both about half an hours drive away. I still can’t believe how quickly it’s coming round, before we know it, it’ll all be over!
I have a confession to make ladies…….I went out and bought some Christmas cards yesterday from Tesco 😬 I know it seems crazy when I’ve got all of that craft stuff sitting there just waiting to be used, but needs must. One set are really lovely, with a recipe on the inside of either gingerbread men or Christmas pudding.
Michele, nice to see you popping in 😊
I hope you all have a good day whatever you’re doing. Sending hugs to you all xxx

  4. Morning Everyone
    Beautiful cards as always.

I like KAREN don't want to be a 'party pooper' but a break for me would be good. I don't like not doing a CC but at the moment everything is way behind with me and I'm getting really panniky (is that even a word?).

Lovely to see you MICHELE. Hope all is well.

Sorry there isn't a lunch menu today.
HUGS are winging their way to you all.PLEASE TAKE CARE AND STAY SAFE.xxxx

  5. Hi everyone from a cold and wet MK so it's lovely to stay indoors, alone at home as hubby gone to football. Still writing cards and have a parcel for my parents to come later today from Amazon, for some reason it couldn't be sent direct so I'm going to repack and send it on with some of the cards. Trying to save the postage a bit.

Janet, don't worry about any lunch. We are all so busy with one thing or other so we can just grab something as we go. I for one going to have another cup of tea before writing anymore for the hand getting tired.

  6. Hello Sandra and ladies,

Love all of the sparkle and shine cards, it certainly is beginning to look like Christmas on the blog.

Oh Sonia be sure to dose yourself up and get rid of this dreadful cold, just when you thought you could get all your jobs done.

Sandra it’s lovely your sister is going to do the present run this year, it would be far too much travelling for you to go down to her especially as you say you would be going there and back in a day. Hope the shopping trip is successful and the shops not to busy.

Not a lot happening here, John has popped up to Clarks in Croydon, I ordered a pair of everyday shoes online and asked for that to be delivered to the local shop. He is also going to go into Boots for a couple of items, it keeps him busy - he likes that.

However you’re spending your day - hope it’s enjoyable.
Love and big hugs Brenda XXX

  7. Hello All, it’s a lovely sunny day here, two loads of washing out on the line.

Wonderful array of cards today, all so different. Like the others I have a draw full of cards so don’t mind either way, if we have a challenge I like to do one, so as not to let you down. I’m hoping to finish some sewing projects, so could send pics of them if you like, and perhaps any other crafts anyone has done.
    Have good afternoon, Lilian
