Happy Christmas Eve

Good Friday Morning Ladies,

I would like to wish you all a Happy Christmas Eve, if you are like us today is a busy day, its 'fun busy' though, we spend the day cooking and preparing food for Christmas day just so that it is more relaxed, mind you our kitchen tends to be the social hub of the house, it's rare to be in the kitchen on your own,  there is always someone huddled around the Aga.  Christmas Eve baking has always  been a bit of a tradition, my Mum did exactly the same, baking mince pies, sausage rolls, making trifles and peeling and preparing vegetables for Christmas day, I always wonder if my children will do the same.

Sophie & Lucy have their own tradition on Christmas eve,  they call it 'Twismas' (twin Christmas). They have their own Christmas day, the open each others gifts, go out for lunch, they spend the whole day with each other, which is lovely 😍.

If you are travelling to be with family I hope your journey is smooth and safe. I know for most of us the joy of spending it with family is hands down the best part of Christmas.

I bet that you are all super organised and have done all of your wrapping by now, we have done a few bits but still have the majority to do.  I chose to use Brown Paper and ribbon this year to be a bit more Eco friendly,  it isn't as easy on your hands as normal wrapping paper, Paul prefers it as he says it creases better and stays put while you tape it.  I wonder what their reaction will be.

I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas eve

Love and hugs to all of you,

Sandra                                                                                xxxxxx

Like you SANDRA I will be preparing food for tomorrow but it’s just a part of Christmas dinner - cauliflower cheese (don’t ask!) glazed gammon and sherry trifle I will also do a non-alcoholic one for the grandkids
I hope and pray that everyone stays safe and is able to do what they’d planned tomorrow
    Take care everyone xx

  4. Happy Christmas eve to you all.
I have prepped the carrots, boiled the eggs and already cooking the Jansson's for tonight's dinner so it's been a busy morning. Now having a mug of tea and watching a film before getting things ready for our Christmas lunch.
Son working only 3-7 pm so we are able to have our Christmas together.
Michele, hopefully work be alright and you soon home so you can put your feet up and enjoy the holidays. Lovely to see you in.

  5. Hi everyone
Happy Christmas Eve to you all πŸŽ…πŸΌπŸŽ„❄️ ❤️
Work was pretty quiet this morning and I’m now home to enjoy the festivities. Still got presents to wrap, but I shall do that later, listening to Christmas songs and a glass of something alcoholic 😊
So lovely that Lucy and Sophie spend the day together, what a wonderful tradition. Our Christmas Eve tradition always used to be watching The Polar Express when the boys were younger πŸ₯° I caught the end of it on the tv last night, and it bought back many happy memories and a tear to my eye.
I hope you’re all having a lovely day, prepping and baking and enjoying spending time with loved ones.
Sending love and hugs to you all xxx

  6. Hello All, here’s hoping your Christmas Eve has been lovely.

Our family are here, they had a good journey down from London, all is ready for tomorrow. Just trying to find something to watch on tv.

R is off to midnight mass late to play the organ, so I shall be in bed by the time he gets home.

Wishing you all a goodnight, from Lilian
