Your Next Challenge

Good Morning Ladies,

I hope that you all had some of the sunshine that we were blessed with yesterday, I was pleased it was bright and dry as Lucy has had a 'project' that she has been wanting to get on with for a while.....    She wants to make a 'pallet bed' now I have said she could just have a new bed (not that there is anything wrong with the one she has)!  Sophie sourced everything Lucy needed including the pallets and fairy lights as an extra birthday gift, yesterday was the first day she was able to get outside and start sanding down the pallets, they were really good quality pallets so didn't need much work and Lucy really enjoyed getting started on her dream project,  here is a photo to give you an idea of what she is wanting.....

Although I don't think hers is as wide,  maybe a few inches either side of the mattress. I will keep you updated.!

Your Next Challenge

I thought that we would have a go at a Colour Challenge this week, I saw that Maria mentioned it last week and a few had mentioned it before that so here we go, now I thought that it might be better to do a range of colours rather than picking one particular colour.  So if you just look at the image above and you can pick out which ever colours you want, you don't have to use them all on one card. I also don't expect you to use those exact shades, just your interpretation of them, using colours that you have on hand.  I see some Distress Oxide shades in those colours....Twisted Citron, Tattered Rose, Worn Lipstick, or that new pink shade that he has just bought out, Kitsch Flamingo, or SU colours Lemon/Lime Twist, Grapefruit Grove or Peekaboo Peach, Magenta madness, Petal Pink and Very Vanilla.
There are literally so many colour combinations to choose from, the colours are delicious and I have to mention how beautiful that jug of flowers are.

I really can't wait to see what you all create, which of the colours you decide to choose, there are a few of my favourite colours in there so I am looking forward to this challenge.

I will find some inspiration from our past challenges and post them on tomorrows blog.

***************

Janet we didn't have 'Ash' on Ash Wednesday, is that a tradition that you follow? I have given up Chocolate for Lent, something that I never used to be fussed about eating but in recent months I found myself eating chocolate at any opportunity, I swear its something to do with Hormones!!  I would love to know if you have all given up anything too.

I hope that you all have a little sunshine ☀ in your lives today,

Sending love and hugs to all of you,

Sandra

  1. Morning Ladies

Great challenge for us next week. There’s a lovely choice of colours.

Good luck to Lucy creating her bed project.

Yesterday was tiring-early start, late finish then Tesco shopping. I’m going in early today but hopefully I’ll finish on time or I might ask to leave early (4pm).

A very interesting Challenge you have set for us this week SANDRA.

Update on my missing scissors -they are still AWOL.I have looked in all places -some reasonable and some really stupid-but nothing yet. I can see I'm going to have to do some serious sorting.

SANDRA-we didn't have Ash but pancakes -just a couple-.When I was a child Mum always did pancakes with sugar and orange and then a large pan of Ash. Dad loved pancakes with ash over them.He said it (ash)always tasted better warmed up the day after.I haven't given anything up. I just cannot push myself at the moment.

Well talking about 'pushing' I must get a wriggle on as it's that swear word day and Mr Tesco will be delivering too.

The CAFE is OPEN ready and waiting so pop in.HUGS are winging their way to you all.TAKE CARE AND STAY SAFExxxx

  3. I love the idea of a colour challenge for a change and this palette has some lovely Spring/Summer shades
Good luck Lucy with the project!
I am on annual leave next week and hope to start on s project - paint a couple of ottomans and upholster them to create storage benches Just waiting for OH to decide on fabric - which probably won’t arrive in time but at least I can start with the painting! Plus more time to craft!
It’s hazy bright here So hopefully I won’t have to have a light on whilst I’m working
    Take care xx

  4. Good Morning,

Wonderful colours to choose from and with Mother's Day next month what better subtle colours to use?

My train engine is coming along I have the pieces covered with the fabric so construction will take place some time today.

  5. Hi Sandra & ladies
It’s raining here and very windy.
Well I somehow missed yesterday’s post.a lovely simple card yesterday but very effective. Michele Hermes was the firm I had problems trying to send a coat back to Lands End. I do hate buying anything online as you can never be sure anything’s going to fit. I then bought a coat in the Garden centre in Lechlade from Cotton Traders when we were able to meet up during the summer.
I like the look of Lucy”s bed Sandra, look forward to seeing the finished article. Amy made a bed for herself when she was at school, and Craig’s making a double one out of wood that he bought from B & Q in Swindon. It’s in an alcove in the spare bedroom. Jenny says she’s going to paint the walls dark blue around it. Not my cup of tea at all.
Take care and stay safe everyone.

  6. Hi Sandra and all in the Cafe today. What a gorgeous jug of flowers. They are so pretty and lovely colours. I can’t wait to see what beautiful cards are made.
I hope Lucy us getting on well with her pallet bed. She has talked about making one for the last few years hadn’t she. The finished one looks lovely and knowing your girls Lucy’s will too xx
Janet I’m showing my ignorance but what is Ash that is eaten? I hope the scissors turn up today x
Sending love and hugs to you all with extras for Lynda, Mum and all in need. Take care xx

  7. Hi ladies
Lovely colours for our challenge next week Sandra.
Sorry, no cc from me this week. I did some stamping but that is as far as it's gone so will save them now for next weeks cc. Everything else has gone in the bin.
The bed looks fun and good luck for her making one from scratch. Looking forward to see the finished project.
Michele, hopefully you get home at normal time today. It's Friday after all, you have a nice weekend.
Funny how things can disappear sometimes and never to be seen again. I lost a couple of dies before x-mas and I have looked everywhere for them but no luck so far. maybe I should drag a magnet under the kitchen fitments and see if any of them reappear.
Sending warm hugs for you all with extras for Lynda, Margaret and anyone who need some. Maria xx
