Good Morning Ladies,
We had another glorious sunny day here in Wiltshire, it has just turned a little overcast as I writing this (7pm), I think that we are forecast rain later in the week with some cooler temperatures.
We did get some relief as Paul got some Bargain fans from Tesco, they were advertised as £20 but scanned through a £12, so Paul went and bought another 3, so that I could have one in my craft room, one in our bedroom and one in lounge, we take three on holiday so they will get plenty of use.
While having a little Monday morning clean round I had an idea 💡 I have these little cotton squares that Paul recycled from work (they were chucking out a box full) they are fab for crafting as you can stamp on them, make flowers with them etc. Anyway I got some Lavender Essential Oil and put a few drops on the cotton square and clipped on to the fan, so the lovely, calming Lavender scent was wafting all over the bedroom. So hopefully we will sleep well tonight.!!!
Karen has allowed me to share her 'Spotlight' Challenge card with you all, as I wanted you to see how the Colouring book pages worked for the challenge. Layering the piece onto Black card finishes the design, this is helpful if your colouring book page is larger than the card you are making, as you cut it down you will have unfinished edges, adding the black mat neatens the piece nicely.
Karen had die cut a circle out of her Colouring Book page, coloured it beautifully with pencils,I love the bright vibrant colours you have used Karen, they really pop! To 'Spotlight' the image Karen has just popped her die cut piece onto a die cut black circle and placed it back into position.
Your card works brilliantly Karen, thank you for the inspiration. xxx
Pat is coming over today, so lots of crafting and chatting on the cards.
I hope you have a lovely day however you are spending it,
Love and hugs to all,
Sandra

Morning Ladies
ReplyDeleteKaren-your card is just perfect. I have a couple of colouring books but I doubt I’ll have the time to start a picture. I might try though.
Sandra-the fans definitely were a bargain! Hope you have fun crafting with Pat today.
I have a busy day-full Chemotherapy list plus 2 meetings. One is with the CQC at 14:15 as they’ve called meetings with Pharmacy staff today. Should be interesting!
Michele
Morning ladies,
ReplyDeleteSuch a welcome respite from the heat, it is finally raining in my little corner of Somerset. So much cooler than of late.
Perhaps my grass can now recover back to it's original green state not parched brown. And we will see if all the money spent on our Flood Prevention Scheme was a wise investment. We have noticed one benefit of it being that the soakaway pipes near my side boundary and the drain at the bottom of the drive has not had running water for some time now. Maybe that is a good omen.
Busy making a box for a wedding card for this Friday and also another card and a upcycled box for the wedding ring I made last year for Nephew's wedding on the 17th August.
Love 7 hugs

Morning Everyone
ReplyDeleteKAREN -thank you for the inspiration for this week's Challenge.
It's K&N this afternoon and my first for over a month so I'm looking forward to seeing friends and catching up on any gossip they might have.
It was much cooler yesterday and therefore much better. It's a little muggy at the moment.
The CAFR is OPEN and plenty of ices and cold drinks just waiting for you all to pop in for a drink and a chat.
HUGS are winging their way to you all with extras for Dear Friends who aren't feeling too good.
Have a good day;take care and stay safe xxxx
Hi everyone,
ReplyDeleteGreat card Karen. These spotlight cards are so different, really like the idea. I don't have any large stamps or colouring books so I hope the card that I'm planning on making fit this week's cc. I say I hope to make as at the moment I can't get near my desk, in fact it's difficult to get in the room! I'm sure once it's all sorted and tidied it will be great though.
Sandra and Pat enjoy your crafting time together.
Have a good day ladies.xxx
Thank you for showing my card and people are liking it I think I deliberately chose this pattern because I’m not a brilliant colourist and not confident enough to shade and blend Most colouring books have a mixture of things like flowers birds mandalas etc You need only to choose a small piece to spotlight I found it very therapeutic to just sit still and colour in for about 30 mins The card is really quick and easy to put together
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your crafting with PAT
It’s a lot cooler here and threatening to rain I’m sitting here in a cardi as the “team” have all of the doors and windows open Must get on Will pop back later xx
Hello All, very wet here, but welcome as it means no watering.
ReplyDeleteSorry not been in for a while I do try but comment just floats off into the ether.
Yesterday’s cards were all lovely, I did start one, but it ended in the bin, I seem not to have much crafting skill these days. Going to try this challenge as we used to do this technique years ago, hopefully I can find the stamp I used to use.
Still on tenterhooks waiting for results of my biopsy, I know they are very busy so am trying to be patient.
Karen love today’s card, very bright and zingy, I have some colouring books somewhere must see if I can find them.
Have a good day whatever you are doing, hugs to all Lilian

DeleteAfternoon ladies.
ReplyDeleteLove the card you made Karen, love the colours used.
I have made some cards but not sure if they work for this week cc but as you going on holiday soon Sandra you can always save them if needed while you are away :>)
Went to ww this morning , it was ok as I know I haven't been to good the last two weeks so had a little plus. Need to write down what I put in my tummy, that seem to work. Shopping was to go up and down every aisles to find what we needed (not what we wanted Lol) we had to spend £80 to get £12 off so that's what we did. Your fans were a bargain Sandra ! We bought a little one from Dunelm £35 ! Hope you will be sleeping better. It's raining here but very humid so window's are still open just a bit.
Lovely to see you in Lilian, tough have to wait for results. SIL is having a biopsy done tomorrow ,it's her second one and then she have to wait another 3 weeks for results. I know they are busy but horrid to have to wait so long.
Michele- hope your meeting is over with for today by now. Go home later and put your feet up.
Brenda- hope you heard how the boys are doing, what an amazing experience for them both.
Janet- have a fun day at K&N and catching up with friends.
Val- hope you manage to get into craft room soon. Do you need a hand ? actually I do need to clean up my work space too, again !
Margaret- hope your pain is better and Lynda's too, big hugs to you both.
Many hugs are winging it's way to you all ,take care Maria xxx
Hi Sandra and ladies
ReplyDeleteA lovely card Karen. A great idea to use the colouring books if we have them.
I had a very productive day today at Sandra’s. I used her A4 squared scallops which is what I’d used to make the blue tit card. I have the normal squared extension plate. It has single lines and the scalloped one has double lines. So looks nicer when you do the picot cutting.
It’s a wonder I didn’t need a boat to get home instead of the car as we’ve had so much rain today.
Gentle hugs today for all those who needs them.
Lilian it seems you’ve been waiting a long time for your results. I’m sure your hospital is way behind the national guidelines. I’m afraid I’d be getting my Dr to chase them up.
Let’s hope this publishes.
Hello Sandra and ladies,
ReplyDeleteKAREN Love your card, it works so well because the colours you have chosen are so vibrant, xx
Daughter had a phone call fro the boys she said they are having a good time but very tired. She thinks the critters are keeping them awake at night! Yesterday they went on a long walk up a mountain, managing to avoid the snakes! Today both have taught in school Sam - Maths, Dom - English. In the afternoon they played football with the children. They had taken footballs and rugby ball plus other sports item that they could fit in there language as gifts for the school. Both boys are very sporty so would have enjoyed playing. Not sure if they have been put to work in the fields. Shouldn’t think they have any energy left!
Sandra and Pat sounds like you had a very productive time today.
LILLIAN hope your results of your biopsy come through soon. The waiting is the hardest part. xx
We had quite a bit of rain today it was on and off, so a few dry moments, anyway I was saved watering the garden, only had the greenhouse to attend to.
Hope you have all had a good day, Sleep well, Love Brenda xxx
Hi Sandra & ladies
ReplyDeleteI've just notist my comment from this morning has disappeared again
So just making this short. Hope everyone had a good day. Pat hope you enjoyed your day with Sandra
I'm really tired now had bad day with pain so I'm going to have early night.
Love & Hug's Lynda xx
Afternoon ladies,
ReplyDeleteJust been craft testing some new clear PVA glue(The Craft Place 500ml PVA Craft Glue £3 in TheWorks) which dries absolutely so quick. I transferred some into a smaller bottle and found it does not gunk up the nozzle like white PVA glue does. Brilliant for intricate dies too.
So hot here at 17.01 I am sweltering in my craftroom but need to get a card box decorated for the wedding tomorrow.
Hope everyone is OK?
Love 7 hugs
