One Colour card
Good Morning Ladies,
We had every kind of weather in one day yesterday, we woke up to beautiful Sunshine streaming through the windows, which was lovely, although it was still quite windy and very cold, the ski's greyed over after lunch though and we then had sleet, snow and hale stones all in the space of an hour or so! We wanted to get out of the house so we went to the Outlet Centre where they have a Farmers Market, there weren't many stalls though, the only thing we bought was some Lemon Meringue Fudge! (not the healthy shopping I had planned).
Today's card was the result of me having a 'play' with Distress Oxide inks, trying to see how it embosses etc and as you would expect it works however you try and use it.
The whole card was made with Whisper White card and distress ink.
I started off by stamping the background using the 'Dear Doily' stampin'up Stamp set, I love that pretty doily stamp, the Distress Oxide that I used is Picked Raspberry.
Next I used my Blending Tool to cover a piece of card that I used to die cut the back of the Doily die, I then stamped those grasses onto the coloured piece in versamark and added white embossing powder and heat set and then I used the matching die to cut them out.
I stamped the sentiment and embossed that at die cut with a scalloped circle and layered on top of the Doily. The final part was to ink around of a piece of card to create and matching coloured matt for layering up the card.
I put it all together using a Whisper White card base, the layer with the inked edges, my doily background, I then added foam pads to the back of the doily die cut and placed it in the bottom corner and popped the three grasses under the doily to one side.
I hope you like my card, it's amazing what you can achieve with nothing but white card and I ink pad!!
Nothing much happening here today, I am exhausted both mentally and physically, I have another blood test at 11am, I think that the rest of the day will be me resting. So please feel free to flood my inbox with your cards incase I don't feel up to making any for a few days, although I am wanting to go and sit in my craft room and play.
I hope that you all have a lovely day,
Love and hugs to all of you,
Sandra

Morning Ladies
ReplyDeleteSandra-what a beautiful card, it’s gorgeous.
Good luck with your appointment this morning.
We ended up doing some gardening yesterday as it was fine , just quite breezy. I’m suffering bid though-think I did too much & it was too cold as the area around my kidneys is aching. I’m sure a busy day at work will distract me from my aches & pains.
Michele
Morning Everyone
ReplyDeleteWe have sunshine to start our day here but after yesterday's weather anything can happen. We too started with a beautiful morning, still very windy but dry but oh boy did that change mid morning. Never mind we have 'first day of Spring'mid week so look forward and leave Winter behind.
SANDRA- a beautiful card and I love the colour.
It's Mr Tesco this morning and then who knows.
The CAFE is OPEN and looking very Spring like with more rescued daffys on the tables and Spring coloured gingham table cloths.
HUGS are winging their way to you all with loads of extras for Dear Friends in need. Take care and stay safe xxxx
Your card is lovely SANDRA and to think it’s one one colour I do hope the blood tests go OK today and do try not to stress Get the crochet out or something like colouring that you can just sit and focus on (I’m probably talking to the converted here - sorry) I admit crochet is my de-stresser
ReplyDeleteI hope to craft this afternoon but will probably snooze instead
Take care all I am thinking of you xxxx
Hi Sandra and all in the Cafe today. What a pretty card to start our week. I love the doily stamp, the pattern reminds me of Spirograph ones we probably all made as children and the die cut works so well with the pattern doesn’t it. I’m glad you felt up to have a play with your Distress Oxides. Please don’t worry about making cards for the blog, hopefully we can all send something for you to use, or looking back at cards we made a few years ago is always fun and it’s interesting to see what we were using then. I will be thinking of you today, my hugs are on their way my lovely xx
ReplyDeleteJanet, the Cafe looks lovely with the daffodils and pretty tablecloths. I can’t wait for the clocks to “Spring” forward 😃 x
I still haven’t decided what to do for my cc yet. I will ave to decide today.
It seems like we all had similar weather yesterday, we didn’t have any snow but a couple of hail storms were really noisy on the windows. It is a lovely sunny day, at the moment, who knows if it will stay that way!
Sending love and hugs to you all with extras for all in need. Take care xx

Hello Sandra and ladies,
ReplyDeleteI hope the blood test went well and it wasn’t to stressful, how long before you get the results? Love your card today the one colour really works, thank you for the inspiration xx
We have had a visitor today, our granddaughter (the one at Uni) came home for the weekend. She joined the university rowing club when she first went up to Leeds. Her team were supposed to have been in a race at Putney on the Thames on Saturday but due to the high winds it was cancelled. It was even cancelled for the elite rowers and Olympians, so everyone was disappointed. But better to be safe and on dry land.
Think I will go into my craft room and try to get some inspiration for this weeks challenge card.
Love Brenda xxx
Hi everyone.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card Sandra, lovely doily effect and colour.
Had all four seasons as you yesterday, did not like the hailstones. Today we got Spring !! Had a walk around some of the lake, took me nearly an hour but felt good to be outside in the sunshine again.
Sandra -hope you be ok and the blood test went well.
Brenda- how your granddaughter doing in UNI. Wishing her all the best.
Michele- hope you all right and the pain eased a bit over the day. We need digging the borders over but not sure who yet, hopefully Son will have some time if the weather stays nice over weekend.
Take care and hugs for all, Maria xx
