Karen's beautiful Birthday card

Good Monday Morning Ladies,

I hope that you are all well and ready for another week, not sure what the weather has in store for us, as long as it isn't too cold.

Today's card is one of Our Karen's commissioned cards from one of her colleagues, the card was for a chap that doesn't 'do' ''slushy romantic' cards.  Aa usual Karen made a perfect card for the occasion, using one of those new 'Paper Cuts' Edger Dies from the lovely Sue Wilson, there are a few different ones in the range, Karen is waiting for the 'Happy Birthday' one to come back into stock as that would be perfect for quick and easy birthday cards.
For this card Karen has matted a pretty background paper onto a white card base, it's a pretty pink paper with the tiniest hearts all over it, a perfect design for a card that needs a little bit of romance without being too over the top!  Karen has printed the Greeting onto the top layer of white card and then die cut it with the Paper Cuts die, Karen then simply adhered it to that pretty background card.
Such a perfect card Karen, I love that Font you have used too.
Thank you so much for sharing your card with us Karen, I just know that both your colleague and his Girlfriend will absolutely love your card. xxx

We had our first day out since I started to feel unwell yesterday, we travelled to meet Paul's family in Birmingham, we met for lunch and then went back to Pauls sisters for a cup of tea and cake as it was an early celebration of Paul's mums birthday. It was lovely to see everyone but boy was I flagging after a couple of hours, I was glad to see my bed when we got home and it was only 7pm! Having said that I was up at 2 and 4am feeding lambs which didn't help.
It seemed odd not celebrating mum in laws birthday with Mothers Day this year, I think its the first time that they have been a full week apart, unless I am going mad, Mother's Day isnt usually on the 31st of March.

I hope that whatever you are all up to today you have a lovely one,

Love and hugs to all of you,

Sandra

  1. Morning Ladies

Karen-what s beautiful Card, it’s gorgeous. I saw yesterday that the Happy Birthday Die was available again-I ordered mine from in2craft so it might be worth checking with them.

Sandra-nice to read that you managed to get out yesterday and see Paul’s family. I’ll be you were shattered.

We had a mad rush to get everything done yesterday morning so we could go Hospital visiting-I’d gone online & checked the visiting times (14:30-16:00& 18:00-20:00) so we set off st 13:30 and the journey was horrendous. Southport was full of tourists then getting g into Preston was really busy. After 75 minutes driving we finally made it to the hospital to find Keith fast asleep. We bought drinks for us (& Wendy) and chatted. Nurses came to roll Keith, give him his medication (via his feeding tube) then removed his cannula and not once did he wake up during this! Eventually he did wake up and we had a brief chat but it was gas he wasn’t making much sense. We left around 5pm (having been informed by Wendy that’s it’s open visiting now) dropped her off at home in Chorley then set off for Southport. That was a 5 hour round trip! We were both exhausted.

KAREN-a beautiful card and not too busy. I'm sure it was a big hit.

Well our visit to the Opticians turned out to be an expensive trip having only gone in to have a new pair of glasses adjusted we came out with me having had an eye test and a new pair of 'specs' on order for me! I definitely needed a rest by the time we arrived home.

The CAFE is OPEN ready and waiting for you all to pop in.

  3. Hi everyone.
KAREN I just love your card. That die is so pretty. I've just looked up the whole range on JS and really like the Happy Birthday one as well. They're not in stock at the moment but are notifying me when they're back in.

Pip my window cleaner has just left and really don't know what I'm doing today. I'll just see what happens.

    Have a good day everyone.
Sandra hope you can have a rest today. Would love to see a photo of Matt's orphan lambs.

    Love Valx

  4. Hello Sandra and ladies,

KAREN What a lovely card. I’m sure the young man was very pleased with it and his girlfriend thrilled he thought to commission a birthday card just for her. I have the Happy Birthday die on order for my sister, I know she will love it.

What a lovely treat to get out and meet up with Paul’s family yesterday Sandra. Make sure you take life easy today, just thought are you home alone with the lambs? If you are then that’s your restful day out of the window!

Have a lovely day everyone, Love Brenda xxx

  5. Hello All, beautiful sunny day here, although very cold last night.

Karen lovely card, those dies make really unusual cards, no spare pennies at the moment so I’m not going to look.

Sandra do you do all the feeds for the lambs or do you have some help, remember from my young days feeding farm animals, it’s very exhausting, so take it easy.

Have lovely day whatever you are doing, hugs Lilian

The font is a freebie called Grandma’s Garden from dafont (I think)
I hope the feeding of the lambs is going OK and not too stressful Have an afternoon nap - I am! After I’ve been shopping!
Out dancing tonight So I hope to craft tomorrow

  8. Evening ladies.
Gorgeous card Karen. I like these edger dies, so quickly to make a card with a nice background. Julia has got the Happy Birthday in her shop for £ 11.99. You might get it a few £ cheaper somewhere.
I hope you all had a nice day. Here it was sunny all day but a nip in the air. Apparently it's going to be a warm April.
Met up with friends in Ikea at 11am and didn't leave them before 4.30pm so after a lot of walking around and natting I am this evening so ready for bed :)
Hope to make the card for Molly tomorrow, she be 9 soon so this weeks cc is perfect. First I'm in town for a haircut and the weigh in. Have been little bad so anything = be good.
Love and hugs to you all, xxx

  9. Hi Sandra and all in the Cafe today.
Karen your card is perfect for your workmates girlfriend. How lovey of the young man to get his girlfriend this special card. I’m sure she will treasure it. I hope you had a good tome dancing this evening x
Sandra I hope you have been able to get some rest today after a good time with Paul’s family yesterday. I am so happy to hear that you felt up to going. Get lots more rest tomorrow my lovely xx
Maria. Thank you for telling what you used or the shaving foam background. I have used both food colouring and children’s powder paint, but not together, with good results as I don’t have any of the inks some people use either. I love the colour you made. I hope you’re not going to suffer too much tomorrow after your nice day with friends x
It’s good to hear that most of you have had nice weather as we did today. I went with Chris to the hospital for his eye check. It was a very early start but there wasn’t a cloud in the beautiful blue sky this morning which made me feel much better.
Val I am still envious of the warmer weather you are having. What is the average temperature for you at this time of year? I can’t wait for our warm holiday in a few weeks time. If I could pick up our families and dear friends I would move somewhere warm like you did. I’m glad you enjoyed yourself at the charity do even if you didn’t dance, and all for such a good cause too x
It’s been a very long day so offvto sleep now. Sending love and hugs to you all with extras for all in need. Take care xx
