Good Morning Ladies,
Well I did eventually manage to get into my craft room yesterday afternoon, I needed to make my Notelets for the swaps over on the fb group, so I made myself go and sit in there until they were done.
I then made this card too which was on the same theme as some of the Notelets.
I embossed a piece of Melon Mambo card with the Lace Dynamic Embossing folder, then to highlight some of the detail I used a dauber and added a little Spun Sugar Distress Oxide across the raised areas. To create a base for my Butterflies to sit I stamped the largest Doily from the Dear Doily Stamp set, I used Perfect Medium to stamp with and added an Opal Mica powder to give a subtle pattern in the background. Before I adhered the doily I added a piece of the White Dotted Tulle ribbon across my card and then put the die cut vellum piece on top.
I stamped one large and 2 small butterflies from the Beauty Abounds stamp set, I stamped first onto white card that I had blended some Spun Sugar Distress Oxide ink onto, using Melon Mambo ink and the repeated but stamping onto Vellum, to create an extra layer of wings for my butterflies.
I arranged the butterflies onto my card and added some sparkles to them all.
The sentiment is one of Sue Wilsons and I die cut it twice out of white card inked with Spun Sugar Distress Oxide ink.
I hope you like my card.
Believe me, when I had finished the card and notelets I was ready for a lie down, I am getting so frustrated at both the pain and feeling so unwell, but never mind.
Paul came home with a lovely gift from a lady that he works with, it was a jigsaw puzzle, she said that it would hopefully help keep my mind off of Google!! So thoughtful, I must make a thank you card for her today.
That's all from me today my lovelies, Thank you all so much for keeping me in your thoughts and prayers, I really appreciate it.
Love and hugs to all of you,
Sandra

ReplyDeleteSandra-your Card is gorgeous, love the colour. What a very kind gesture from Paul’s colleague to send you a jigsaw.
We got a message in Monday evening to say my Father in Law had been rushed into hospital. They initially thought it was a heart attack but that’s been ruled out. He’s waiting for s CT scan but no more news yet. Neither of us have slept much the last two nights-hope we get an update today.
Michele

DeleteHi Michele
DeleteI hope you have some news soon. Gentle hugs coming your way.
Morning ladies,
ReplyDeleteA lovely bright cheerful card this morning To chase away the grey clouds.
Hope all goes well with your Fil's Ct scan Michele.
Quite a busy day today, this morning is U3A with usual lunch to follow and the n craft afternoon with my buddies. My son's birthday is on Friday so a card is in thinking mode at the moment to use a new music die and a SU set of stamps that includes a guitar. I looked in my bag of goodies from the Craft4crafters show in Feb.(where I met the lovely Lesley from Pinflair), for the Christmas train and fabric Calendar I purchased for Milly-May which I shall start to cut out.
I have decided to try to stop getting myself bogged down with HFP's on the go together and concentrate on doing a particular craft each month to finish each project and sewing is on next month's agenda, hence the cutting out in preparation.
Let's see how long that lasts lol.
Huge hugs for everybody,
Love 7 hugs

Hi All, cloudy but dry and warmer, first day of spring tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteSandra, love your thank you card, that ribbon is lush, hope the jigsaw helps you to relax, I use them in the night when the pain stops me from sleeping.
Picked up my knee brace yesterday, very complicated to put on but seems to help.can only wear it for 2 hours for the first week then gradually increase the time.
All I need now is to get over this breathless problem.

Hi again everyone.
ReplyDeleteMichele- my thoughts are with you and your family, hugs.
Sandra- what a nice thing of Paul's colleague. How many pieces is it ? I like doing jigsaw puzzles but haven't got much space. I have got a mobile table one but it doesn't hold them very well. You take care.
Brenda- good to hear your sister is doing better. Hope you and John are all right.
Margaret- hope blood test results were ok. Hope the gym was not too bad so you are in too much pain.
Lilian- so good you at last have got your leg brace, take care and hugs for you.
Our day to visit step-MIL went well. Ended up helping out during lunch feeding some of the residents that sat around our table. Had a bit of a problem with a lady who pulled on the table cloth with all the cutlery and plates on but it was funny to hear step-MIL telling her off in very stern voice, to STOP it ! She seem to settle in well and being well looked after. So many horror story's about care homes but this one look good, at least she seem happy.
Time for a cuppa with my legs up and to watch 'Black Sails' so I wish you all a nice evening and a good night Xxx
