Youtube Tutorial for Winter Woods card
Good Morning Ladies,
I took one stamp, one ink and Whisper White paper to create this card.
It literally took about 10mins to make this card, I think it looks quite effective too.
I have done a YouTube Tutorial for this card just click the link below Card Picture, I hope its easy enough to follow.
I took a piece of Whisper White card and then die cut a circle to use as a moon mask, I held that in place and blended the Night of Navy ink across the card, quite heavy at the top, continuing down to about half way and then blending out to the bottom of the card. I then Spritzed the card with a fine mist of water, I blotted it off and quickly dried it. I then took the large Christmas tree stamp and stamped it repeatedly over the bottom half of the card, no need to mask either.
Lastly I tapped a Waterbrush loaded with Whisper White ink over the card which gave the snow effect and stamped the sentiment inside the moon. You can also use a White Posca pen for the snow, it actually gives a 'whiter' snow.
I did two versions, one with and one without the white mat, it looks so much brighter with that white mat, it seems to pick up the white in the card.
The Card measurements are as follows:
Base Card 4 1/8 X 5 1/2 Inch Night of Navy
White Mat 3 7/8 X 5 1/4 Inch Whisper white
Top layer 3 6/8 X 5 1/8 Inch
You can actually make this card any size that you choose.
What do you think?
I used this stamp set only (no dies).

I felt a lot better by yesterday afternoon thankfully, so managed to get into the craft room to have a play thats how this card happened. I got very messy I have to tell you, very blue fingers for the rest of the day. I am going to film how I made this card this morning, as its so much easier to show than it is to explain.
I think that we are going to plan our mini-break to London this weekend, I think we will stay at the President Hotel again as it really was lovely and our toom was lovely, walking distance to the centre of London too. We can't decide on what Show to go and see this time, we are toying with the idea of seeing one of the Classics. I think 42nd street is going to be hard to beat as that was a real extravaganza! So if you have any recommendations I would love to hear them, we are going for two nights I think, I would like to do three but don't want to push my luck! Any amount of time with Paul to myself is bliss.xx
I hope you are all having a lovely weekend,
Love and hugs to all of you,
Sandra

Hi Sandra and ladies.
ReplyDeleteLovely easy easy card today. I also prefer the card with the white mat. Makes it pop a bit more.
When we went to London in June we saw Kinky Boots, which we loved. Was a bit slow to start but was fantastic once it got going, mind you Pete was feeling quite ill that day and slept through quite a bit of it. we’ve also seen the Carol King story as well. But all the shows are great. Not to sure if we will rock you is still on in London, that’s if you like Queen music.
Hi Sandra and all in the Café today.
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful cards, a great quick technique ideal for batch Christmas cards. I agree with you, the white mat really does make the white pop doesn't it. I'm glad that you are feeling much better now my lovely. Enjoy planning your trip. As you say just spending time together is the best bit no matter what you do xx
I need to get some cheap talcum powder, school glue and white acrylic paint to make some embossing paste, I had a play with a small quantity the other day and it works really well so I will bring it with me when I see you next week Sandra so we can have a play 😊
I hope you all have a good day, and have the same bright blue skies that we have here at the moment. I must get on, off to M and Pops. See you in a while Mum.
Sending love and hugs to you all with extras for all in need. Take care xx
Ooh I’d Like the recipe for that embossing paste or did you mean texture paste

I hope everyone else is fine as can be whatever you have been up to and that this day is a nice one.
Sorry I thought I could be in contact during our holiday but no, anyhow we had an Amazing Holiday ! it was with a full on Itinerary so not much rest and some day's up very early to beat the heat because it was +20 during the night and around +36 in the shade so high factor sun lotion was put on not to burn. Spent 3 nights in Cairo which was an eye to see. It was security everywhere and even in the hotel it was scanners for our bags. I won't bore you with everything we did but The Pyramids in Giza, Museums and the Sphinx and then slowly going down the Nile from Luxor down to Aswan seeing the Valley of the Kings and visiting many of Temple and Tombs ,I think we got a bit Temple'd out at the end and I suffered a bit with the heat and very sore knees for it is a lot and lot of steps and in and out of the minibus and smaller boats so now having a rest back at home. Lol
Went to the Theater yesterday and saw Benidorm, loved it !
Up early this morning, hospital appointment for a Bowel Screening. Not a nice experience but... Everything looked fine. Going to catch up with my parents now but I hope you all have a good day whatever you are doing. Love Maria xxx
Hi Maria
DeleteGood to hear you had a nice holiday, even though it pkayed havoc with your knees.
