Good Morning Ladies,
First up today I want to let you all know that Stampin'Up! are having a Flash One Day Sale, with 15% off for one day only!!
Here is the link to my Website: http://www.stampinup.net/esuite/home/cotswoldcrafter/
Well I am not sure what happened yesterday, my 'mojo' just up and left and I sat in the craft room twiddling my fingers! So I thought I would go and have a look at the Global Design Team Challenge for this week and it just so happens it was a 'Colour Challenge' so I thought I would have a go.
The GDP #161 challenge for this week is to make a card using the Colours :
Old Olive
Pumpkin Pie
Crushed Curry
So I decided to use the Dandelion Wishes stamp set and the 'Resist Technique' to create todays card.
I set the stamp in my Stamperatus Stamp Tool and stamped one side of my piece of Whisper White card, then rotated the card and stamped again using Versamark ink and White Embossing Powder, heat set and then placed on my glass mat ready to blend the three colours of ink onto the card. I always find it easier to hold the paper at the angle you are want your ink to lie.
After adding the ink I buffed over the embossing to bring the white shine back, now I couldn't decide how to add my sentiment, then I had a look at this weeks TicTacToe Challenge and saw Vellum, so I cut a piece of vellum the same size as my card front, I then planned where I wanted my sentiment to be and placed the vellum back in the Stamperatus, lined up my sentiment stamp and stamped it and added White Embossing Powder and heat set. I then placed the vellum back onto my card front and creased the vellum roughly where I wanted the tears to be and tore roughly a long those line, for a less formal look, I applied Old Olive ink to one side of the vellum and Crushed Curry on the other.
I attached the vellum to the front of my card with tiny spots of glue placed under the stamped areas of the sentiment and then in one or two spots where I was going to place the sequins.
I scattered some sequins over the front of the card to finish.
Now it just so happens that this card fits with our TicTacToe Challenge too, using categories:
Vellum/Sequins/Texture (vellum and embossing)
I am hoping that the crafting comes a little easier today, as I have a lot to get on with!
I hope you are all in full crafty swing, making your challenge cards, I think I am going to just blindly pick a stamp and colours when I get crafty block from now on and see if that works.
I hope you all have an amazing day,
Love and hugs to all,
Sandra

Morning Ladies
ReplyDeleteLovely card Sandra, what a shame your mojo left you yesterday. I hope you find it-perhaps it’s gone on holiday with mine??!!
Busy day today plus we have a student for 3 weeks which was a surprise. I’m finishing work early today as I have an appointment with the nurse at 4pm and will need to leave early enyyo get home & shower before I go to my appointment.
Michele
Hi Michele. I hope your student doesn't cause any problems at work and that you got to your nurse appointment without having to rush x
DeleteGreat card SANDRA and I love your idea of picking a stamp and colour and see where it takes you
ReplyDeleteMojo is a strange beast With Mine ai either get tons of ideas and can’t get to do them all or it’s gone completely gone
My new cleaner SUE is a Dyson v7 I know it’s the cheapest one but it suits us Our house is fairly small I rarely need an extra 10 mins running time and it was the quickest one to charge It’s cordless too and WOW! What a bonus It also converts to a hand held for stairs (and my craft desk) Plus I don’t need to switch buttons etc to convert from carpet to hard floors It’s fairly lightweight too
Must get ready for work Take care all xxx
Hi Karen. My mojo is very erratic too, mostly absent at the moment. Really don't know why though! Just taking a stamp set and colour without lots of time wasting sounds like a really good idea especially if I can come up with something even half as good as Sandra's today 😊
DeleteI will be interested to see how you get on with your new Dyson. As I have already said I love my Dyson which is the old style (10-12 year old) base model Since BIL that lives nearby got the same one as you and Chris tried and loved it he has been talking about getting one when ours finally dies. (I still do most of the hoovering though so I get the majority vote) My thought is how you get on with it when using it as a hand held? We don't have a big house so like you don't need a long battery life. I look forward to hearing your review, which I will be able to trust, unlike on line ones that you are never sure of. Thank you and happy hoovering 😊 x
Hi Sandra and ladies in the cafe' today.
ReplyDeleteLovely card Sandra. like the way you put the Vellum across the card.
Mojo, oh dear what Mojo ? Mine have left me hanging and I'm panic a bit for I have quite a few cards to make still and that's not counting the x-mas ones.
OH took me out for a small walk this morning and we had a drink at Waitrose. Turned around in bed the other night and my back went but had to move around a bit today to loosen up and not just be sitting.
Very costly firewood Sandra. My dad used to buy a trailer full of wood from a farmer. Not sure how much it cost but lasted a long time. He had to cut it down tho to firewood himself. Maybe worth it to ask around.
Sending extra hugs to Pat, Lilian and Lorraine and to anyone
who need some today. Take care my friends.
Love Maria xxx
Hi Maria. Sorry to hear your back is not being nice. Healing hugs are on the way x
DeleteHi Sandra & all in café,
ReplyDeleteFirst may I apologise the café is very late opening today. I can only comment on my laptop, do not know why, & when I opened laptop it decided to freeze on me, no matter what I did could not turn it off or do anything. Anyway Alan did something & it is now working. I went & had a coffee & chat at Petanque, left him to it.

Hi Lynda. I hope you managed to get the box done and dusted. Please can I have some of your mojo? I'm always happy if I manage to get one card done in a day! Hugs to you and CU xx
DeleteHi Sandra and all in the Café today.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous card Sandra. I love the stamps and colours and how you have used the vellum across it, especially the torn and inked edges which gives a lovely finish. Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow my lovely and hope we can both get some cards done xx
Brenda, I hope you aren't suffering from your shopping trip, of course your granddaughter will be completely fine, as only the youngster can be and could probably have done it all over again today 😊 The special memories that you two made in Oxford street will stay with her always which is worth any amount of discomfort isn't it x
I am just about to start a birthday card needed for posting tomorrow so had better get on, at least I will make it fit the challenge this week. Sending love and hugs to you all with extras for all in need. Take care xx
