Something Floral For Friday

Good Morning Ladies,

Welcome to another 'Something Floral for Friday', I bought the Sue Wilson 'Ava' die last weekend at Ally Pally, I finally got around to playing with it while Pat was round yesterday afternoon.  Sadly Pat forget to pack her 'Groovi' system as she had taken it out of her bag to show Pete and forgot to put it back in, so she was a little bit at a loose end, she was going straight out to her friends so didn't want to get too dirty, so we chatted while I crafted.

I cut the largest part of the die out of white card, created a mat for it out of 'So Saffron' card and cut the little delicate centre part out of the same card and layered with white.  I then assembled all the layers and then used the Stampin Up!  Pretty Label punch and 'Label Me Pretty' stamp set to create the sentiment for my card.  I like this combination as you can stamp it and colour it to match your project. This one I coloured with watercolour pencils and the SU blender pen, as it smooths the pencil out beautifully.
Pretty Label Punch and Stamp set

To finish the card I added a seam binding bow with a little rose to finish it off and them arranged some pretty paper flowers around the top corner in complimentary colours.
I then coloured some plain white pearls with the Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blend pen and added them around the card.
Making this card took me back to those days when I made these style cards all the time, I know some of you prefer this style of card, I love it but I am also pleased that I picked up stamping as I think I would have got bored of putting together the same style cards.

The other thing that I am thankful for is finding Stampin' Up!, if for nothing else, the best thing about Stampin' Up! is that Everything Matches, the card matches the ink, then there are all of the colouring Mediums, Watercolour Pencils, Markers, the new Stampin' Blends (alcohol pens) are all in the same colours as the cardstock, I shudder to think about the time and money I spent on fuel and postage trying to find plain cardstock to match a beautiful Pretty Background paper but never getting a decent match.
Now I can just relax, knowing that SU will bring out a new range of gorgeous Designer Series Papers, in beautiful colours and pretty patterns that match perfectly with all of the cardstock that they carry.  I can then stamp in matching ink and embellish with matching embellishments.  Who could wish for more!

I hope that you are all looking forward to a nice relaxing weekend, mine will be super relaxed compared to last weekend.

Don't forget to look in tomorrow to see what everyone bought at Ally Pally, plus much more!

Love and hugs to all of you

Sandra

  1. Morning Ladies

Gorgeous card Sandra, it’s really lovely.

Busy day yesterday at work then I did the shopping then phoned my Dad. I was shattered and went to bed fairly early. Thank goodness it’s Friday although I need to be up early again tomorrow as I’m at the hairdressers at 8:30 as I have an appointment to give blood at 11:25 in Southport. They’re reducing the number of places you can donate at which is annoying. I’ll still go but I need to plan my day better next time!

from yes another very wet Sheffield. When will we get a dry day.

SANDRA- a beautiful card and it looks as though SW has produced another winner in the background dies. I also love the colours you have used.

Well it's that 'swear' word day for me today. the washer is already churning and so I really must get a wriggle on so that I can finish a job I started at my craft table yesterday and had to put to one side because my hairdresser arrived.

The CAFE is OPEN as usual for you all to pop in for a cuppa and a chat. There's fresh scones on the counter but sorry no fresh cream today. Oh and the bucket is still by the door. Take care everyone.
HUGS are winging their way to you all. xxxx

    1. Hi Janet
Surely there can’t be much more rain ☔️ above us. But you seem to have had more that most. Still no sunshine from Australia. I’ve done a bit of swearing this morning. Mostly cleaning the bathroom out. Have to do it just a tad more for the first week of his treatment. Mind you for someone has to be mega careful because he’s more subceptable to catching infections. He dug up a plant for Doreen on Wed without wearing gloves ๐Ÿงค and even fell over heavily on her kerb stones. He saw no problem of getting his hands mucky in soil.

  4. Hi everyone.
Very pretty card Sandra. You can always tell Sue Wilson's dies. They're very distinctive. Love the flower arrangement.
Had a very disturbed night. Harvey brought a baby bunny home around 3 this morning. We were all up as he was howling with pride so loudly. Anyway he dropped in and it ran into the utility room right in the corner behind the dishwasher. All the appliances were pulled out and Paul eventually caught it. Poor little thing. Couldn't find any marks on him so Paul went and got dressed and carried it up to the field at the top of our road. I hope he found his way home. Anyway while everything was pulled out I took the opportunity to brush and mop then Lynn put the kettle on and we had a drink and got back to bed at 6, wide awake of course.Oh the joys of owning animals!!!
Craft club today yeh. Used my stencils for the first time for ages to make my cc this week so taking them to use at craft.
    Have a lovely Friday everyone.

    2. Hi Cal
My word you did have an eventful night. Oh the joys of owning animals. Karen ( Petes daughter ) took one her Jack Russell and one of her cats to have their teeth looked at. Came away £700 lighter. Just think what she could have bought for that. She could have paid someone to start sorting out her house.

  5. Hi Sandra and ladies
Another great card today. Lovely to sit and watch you create for a change. As Sandra said I sat and chatted, looked at Sandra’s magazine. I’d taken my new Groovi plates but all my parchment was sat on the side at home. I’d made some cards on Wed and put everything in my notebook. I’d taken it out to show Pete ( hmmm ) was what I got from him. But afterwards I didn’t put it back in my bag.
Had a blip with Pete at the hospital on Tuesday. First he was late going in as a batch of Radium was contaminated, so they had to send for another one. So all the patients were behind. Then they said his blood count was to low from the previous weeks blood tests. Anyway they took another one, tested it and it was just above the low level ( whatever that is ) so they decided to give it him. Good job to as he wouldn’t have been able to have his last one next month. Funny thing was a nurse cane out with a gigercounter to test the radiation levels. All the time we’ve been in Nuclear Medicine I’ve never seen that.
Gentle hugs to all who need one today.

  10. Hi Lynda
Another dull day here as well. Pete is supposed to be cleaning the patio before we go to Doreen’s. But he’s sat playing scrabble as usual at the moment. As we usually go about 2.30 and we have a big patio I can’t see it being done anytime soon.

  11. Hi Sandra and all in the cafe' today.
I hope you all have a nice day whatever you are up to.
Working, crafting, rescuing bunnies, shopping, cleaning and going to have your hair done or give blood. I spent the morning at pain clinic then back home waiting for the electrician to move some cables for the tv, router and sky box etc. so I have shut the door to the lounge because they kept the patio doors open so it's gone very cold in there and my fingers and the rest gone stiffed, brrrr
Take care everyone. Warm hugs ,Maria xxxx
