A Friday treat from Sue

Good Morning Ladies,

Today's card was made by Sue for Chris's birthday, I'm not sure if it's a magazine die (because Michele has it too)! It is a gorgeous die though I love the little hearts hanging from the tree, it's a card that expresses love without being too gushy which is perfect for men.  I am sure Chris will love it, the question is ......did you write on the envelope and gently tuck it in ??!! ;-)

I had a slow day yesterday,  mostly pottering about in my craft room trying  to organise my swaps and Dannii and I decided to do a gift bag swap a while back but with the move and being ill I only thought about it last week, we decided to do our actual exchange tomorrow while we are at Telford to save postage.

I am so frustrated at the moment as on top of all my other aches and pains, hip, spine etc I am really struggling with my right knee, anytime I do a little bit more than normal (walking wise) my knee feels unstable and extremely painful.  Wednesday nights concert had really aggrevated it, I was on my feet on and off a lot I suppose but you can't sit down at a concert, I was holding on to Paul for dear life most of the time.
It couldn't be at a worse time though, I have the busiest weekend ever, driving up to Telford tonight, staying overnight in hotel with Danielle, we are having a girlie night in! Actually we are having a 3 course dinner absolutely Free, only because I decided to check room rates for the hotel (we had room booked for a while, originally for Paul and I ), I spotted a deal that was 50 p cheaper than we were quoted for reservation, only 50p BUT, this offer included a three course dinner and breakfast in a superior room with two double beds!!  Isn't getting a bargain a great feeling ?!  We could have had the room for £20 cheaper on a different deal but thought the dinner was a nice idea and we would have spent more than £20 on dinner anyway!  I
Then Saturday is the On-stage Event, we get recognition for our acheivements and get to see all the new catalogue products including a new colour range!!
Paul will be there to pick me up at 4:30 and then home to relax before Ally Pally on Sunday, which I can't wait for as I get to  catch up with all of you, and do some craft shopping too!
I think I will be ready for bed on Sunday night! And Monday probably!

I was so pleased to read John's progress, I'm sure he's itching to get back into doing his usual jobs but the time will whizz by.  Give him a big hug from me XXX

Maria I hope your Dad's ok, fingers crossed his next operation will get him sorted, thinking of you, it's a worrying time, especially when he is so far away.  Sending hugs XXX

Huge hugs to Lilian and Janet too XXX

Have a lovely Friday Ladies,

Love and hugs

Sandra

  5. Hi Sandra and all in the Café today.
Thank you for showing my card. It is always a surprise when you open the Café door and see your own work. As Mum has said the die is one of hers that I knew Chris would love as he prefers clean and simple cards.
I used some Lidl brown and cream card then recut the die in cream and snipped off the birds, Happy Birthday and hearts, coloured the birds and sentiment with a bronze pen and the hearts in red pen then simply glued them on top of the brown die cut (you can easily snip off the hearts if they aren't suitable) It only took me about 15 mins to make in total which is a record for me but I am really happy with it and will definitely be making more.
Sandra, I hope you are not as sore today, but I'm sorry that your knee is playing up now. Fingers crossed it is just a reaction of all of the extra physical stress you have been putting on it over the last few months. Resting it isn't an option though is it so hope it sorts it's self out soon. Have a wonderful time tomorrow. You deserve the recognition so please ask Danielle to take some pics for us to see my lovely xx
I've just been summoned to go and help Chris so must go now.
I'm looking forward to seeing some of you on Sunday. Sending love and hugs to you all with extras for Lilian and Maria and all in need
    Take care xx

  6. Hi Sandra and ladies
Lovely card Sue. Like the Die.
Sandra I’m sorry to hear that you knee is playing you up. It might be a combination of sorting out all the boxes in the house and the stress of moving. Wish you and Paul would delegate more though.
I hope you have a lovely time tonight and tomorrow at your Stampin Up do. Try not to stress to much about it though.
Maria sorry to hear the news about your Dad. Gentle hugs coming your way.
    Lilian, thinking of you.
Looking forward to Ally Oalky on Sunday.

  7. Hello Sandra and ladies,
A lovely card for Sue today, I’m sure Chris loves it. (Sorry Michele not me, I haven’t got this die.)

Sandra so sorry to read you are suffering with your knee on top of everything else you have to put up with. Please take it easy over the next two days, if that’s at all possible! I know you’re going to have great time with Danielle, The mum and daughter team back together again!!! Sorry you two, couldn’t resist that one. The hotel room sounds a real bargain, as you say the meal would cost you more than £20 ahead so I’m sure you made the right choice. I’ve been thinking about you today and the journey you had taken over these last few years, you certainly have taken some big steps. I hope your life feels more fulfilled. You certainly have made my live a lot richer for getting to know you and all the ladies on this blog. Thank you dear sweet friend. XX

Maria I hope you managed to chat to your parents and find out what’s happening with your Dad. It must be such a worry when they are so far away. But with a great advances in technology at least you can speak to them, and hopefully you’re feeling a little less worried. Sending gentle squidgy hugs just for you xx

I think it’s time I put the kettle on, anyone fancy cup of tea? We have pineapple and coconut cake with a cream cheese topping or just a biscuit to go with it.

Looking forward to seeing everyone on Sunday. I have been quietly panicking all week as our daughter was talking about having a party for Callum this weekend. I didn’t tell her I had made plans, she’s always busy busy, I just thought I would go to AP on the free day. But it has all worked out well and she is having a family get-together tomorrow, Yippee. See prayers to get answered! TYG xx

Take care everyone, Hugs Brenda xxx

    1. A few squidgy hugs back Brenda and so glad you can come this weekend. Seem ages since we saw eachother last. How long is your list this time ? Contemplating not to bring such a long one because last time I couldn't find much which was not so good, missed many companies.
Glad to hear John doing so well. Take care xx

  8. Hi Sandra,
sorry to hear you in so much pain and you are having a pretty busy weekend. Wish you have a fabulous time anyhow tomorrow and say Hi to Danielle from me. Sound great the hotel you staying at so hope you can have a good rest during the night so you are ready for the big shop and big meet up on Sunday :>)
Love the card Sue have made for Chris, tfs it with us.
Had a long chat with my parents yesterday and it is the big C, they removed so far a 3cm tumour but want to go in and take some more before thinking of radiotherapy. It's a worrying time but I know he will be all right in the end. He have survived quite a bit in his life. Thank you all for the hugs, I sending a whole lot back to you all !
The pain clinic today was all about medications, it was interesting to hear all the different ones we all have taken and unfortunately nothing really works.I know I'm not alone with pain but some of the stories you get to hear made me today very sad so not sure it helped. I forgot about mine tho for a little while when going to Hobbycraft and learned how to make a box card. Only one little problem was that this lady who held it had cut out the pieces ahead but pretty badly and I found the card to flimsy so I will make up a new one in a thicker card and hopefully you will get to see it, one day :>) It's been a long day so I will try to go to bed at a more "normal" time but not sure it will be much sleep because OH is already snoring upstairs hihihi
    Good night everyone, hugs xxx
