Mixed Up Saturday

Good Saturday Morning Ladies,

I hope that you are all having a lovely start to the weekend,  nothing much happening here, we may go to a garden centre if the weather is decent, those places are no fun in the rain.

Sue has kindly written us a Magazine Review so lets have a look .....

Simply Cards & Papercraft Issue 242

Simply cards & papercraft issue 242 has a flower foam set this month with foam, ball shaping tool, floral stencils and sentiment stamps.

This article has some lovely cards and clear instructions on how to make the flowers. The Congratulations floating flowers card is one I love and will be making.  Here are several different gift boxes, including the beautiful wedding cake, all decorated with the foam flowers. Templates for them can be downloaded.

The Masterclass is on Faux-layered die-cuts this month. This can as simple as slightly offsetting one die cut behind another identical one. Cutting pieces out of a die-cut and replacing it with a different shade or colour is another example. It certainly helps us to get more out of our dies.

In-depth guide is for to Pendant photo cards this month.

This is a gorgeous idea for showing off the newest member of the family, the bride and groom, your pets, or anything that is asking to be shared. The guide shows how it is easy to make this photo card.

Using the foam flowers as the focal point on your cards is shown here. Some of the digital papers and toppers are also used.

These quilled flowers look so pretty. The pieces of paper are not rolled up but by following a template and standing up the paper pieces on their sides after they have been cut to the correct length. I haven’t tried this type of quilling but will be as I love the look.

As always let me know if you have any questions.

Take care.

 Sue xx

Thank you so much Sue for another amazing review,  there are some stunning cards in thise features , the colours of the flowers are beautiful,  just what we all need to see right now.

I have to say that Card Making & Papercraft magazine have really upped their game as far as gifts and content is concerned and it gives the bigger more expensive magazines a run for their money!  As always I truly appreciate the time abd effort you put into writing the review XXX

Shopping

Sonia treated herself to a little Lavinia Stamps haul,  those stencils are amazing,  great size too, love your stamp choices too, those colour mists look very interesting with the metallic tints, I can't wait to see what you create, thank you for sharing XXX

  3. Hi everyone
A great quote, so true 😉
Lovely magazine review Sue. Some great freebies and articles too. Thanks for sharing 😊
At last the rain has stopped! Still cloudy but dry since this morning, just waiting to see if the sun will make an appearance. Mark said they had quite a smooth ferry crossing, which is surprising with the wind and rain we had yesterday.
I’m just home from work, so starting on the washing. Not doing much else for the rest of the day.
Hope you’re all having a good day
Sending hugs to you all xxx

  4. Hi Sandra and all looking in. A great saying, shame we can’t add more room whenever we buy new stash 🤭
Those word dies will be really handy and a great bargain. And that stamp is really pretty, I can see why you wanted it xx
Sonia, your shopping looks lovely, it will be good to see some of your makes xx
It’s been busy here as the 3 eldest grands are here for the weekend. Penny, the youngest stayed at home with Mummy and Daddy as she is still not feeling 100% yet after the chicken pox, throat and chest infection. She definitely did it in style, bless her 🥰
I am just about to finish putting Chris’s 60 card together ready for the morning.
I hope you all sleep well. Take care xx

  5. Great saying, I’m trying not to buy anything for the time being.
Not achieved much today, I think it’s the after effects from yesterday. Very sore mouth today.

Love your shopping Sonia, they are my favourite company, looking forward to seeing your makes.
I’ve just noticed the time, so I’ll say goodnight, Lilian
