Shimmery Blended Oxide Silhouette card

Good Morning Ladies,

I hope you are all managing to stay cool and comfortable my lovelies,  we only went for hair cuts yesterday and we were so hot and exhausted by the time we got home, I spent the afternoon in my craft room, the only problem is that as I have been making so many different style cards, getting different bits out for each one my craft room looks like I have either been bombed or burgaled !!!

Janet your bedroom sounds like the perfect place to retreat to on a hot afternoon,  what does Jim do while you are resting?   Have you got lots of fruit and vegetables growing in your garden, I know that you have lovely friends that tend to the garden while you aren't there, I love hearing all about your lovely French home 😊 😍

Today's card started out as a blended Oxide background,  I used Antique Linen,  Evergreen Bough and Black soot Oxides and blended the three onto a DL size piece of card, I then tried a new idea ......instead of Spritzing with water to get the water flicking effect I used Pearl Mist Spray, it does the same job as water, I then added some white splats with a posca pen and for finer dots i used a fan brush and a bit of the white from Posca pen scribbled onto my desk with a bit of water added and then tapped over the background, I dried this off and then stamped and the Silhouette grasses and Wildflowers onto the card adding clear embossing powder and heat setting. I think that stamping onto Oxide dulls your black ink so embossing really helps it to stand out enhances the black.  I stamped the sentiment and matted the card front onto a narrow black mat and then onto a card base that preety much matched the Evergreen Bough.  I love how it shimmers when the lights catch it.

Maria I do hope you are feeling better today my lovely XXX

I hope that you all have a lovely day,

Love and hugs to all of you,

Sandra

  1. Morning Everyone
I love your cards for today SANDRA.

While I'm having my afternoon rest Jim finds the next ncoolest place in the house and either fights with a crossword or a soduco. It has been known for him to sit on the bathroom floor on the cool tiles.lol.
Unfortunately the weather here has been so hot for June/July that the garden has suffered with restrictions on the use of water.
It looks as though it's going to be another roasting day so shopping early this morning and then who knows. It all depends on the sun.
I hope your antibiotics are working SANDRA so that your journey will be as comfortable as you can.

Please take care in the heat and stay safe. HUGE HUGS to you all.xxxx

  4. Hello, I’m sure you are the same, it’s absolutely roasting here.
Finding it quite difficult to catch my breath, so just sitting with my feet on the stool as the nurse told me to do as much as possible.

Sandra another lovely card today, love the blended colours. The stamping just show up the coloured background.

Hope you are managing to keep cool, have a good afternoon. Lilian

  5. Hi everyone
Another beautiful card today, I love everything about it 😊
Unfortunately I’ve not done any crafting yet this week - I was too hot and worn out after doing all the housework on Monday, and by the time I’m home from work, all I want to do is sit and rest!
It’s lovely to actually be having a ‘summer’ this year, but the heat really takes it out of you doesn’t it.
I hope you’re all managing to keep cool and having a good day.
Sending hugs to you all xxx

Lovely card again today your background blending is brilliant.
Hope the heat hadn’t been to much for you today, I had a hospital appointment this morning when we returned home I had a lovely nap. Woke up just as John was about to make a cuppa.
Hope everyone has had a good day.
Sleep well, night night, love Brenda xxx

  7. Hi Sandra and all in the Cafe today. Todays card is absolutely gorgeous. I love every bit of it but especially the blended colours. The stamp is so pretty isn’t it. I love how this type of stamp can be used for most occasions. Yesterdays card was very pretty. The sanded effect is not something I even think of doing but I should as I like it very much.
I hope you are feeling as well as possible my lovely xx
Maria, I’m sorry you are not so good but I hope you are feeling a little better today dear friend xx
