A different kind of Autumn Flower card

Good Morning Ladies,

I hope you are all well,  I am having a job keeping track of the days this week, how is it Thursday already?? I think that even though Paul isn't working that Bank Holiday Monday really threw me out, its a good job we don't have any appointments this week.

While we were in Asda on Wednesday I saw a Indigo Blu Craft Boxed Magazine,  I quite liked the look of the stamps so I treated myself, I opened it today and the stamps were nicer than I thought,  you also got a mask, embossing folder and a die. You also got some lovely papers, really nice quality  too.

So today's card was inspired by one featured on the magazine.  I took a piece of white stamping card, I used a Stampin Up Background script style stamp on the right hand side of the card, I stamped them randomly,  for the left hand side of the I used one of the stamps from the Magazine,  it's a Post Mark style stamp,  I used Wild Honey Distress Ink to blend over the right side and So Saffron ink to blend over the left.  I set this to one side and started working on the focal panel of the card.                        I used one of stamps that came with the Magazine and stamped it onto a 2 inch wide piece of card that was the same length as my card front.  I stamped the image in the centre of the piece and then rotated the stamp and added a section of it at the top and bottom of the strip.                                            I needed something therapeutic to do so I decided to sit and colour the flowers with my Polychromos,  blending 4 colours together for each flower 🌼  and also the leaves. Once I had finished  the colouring I blended Wild Honey distress ink over the background of the strip.  I mounted it onto a slightly bigger piece of Black card, I mounted my background onto a black matt too and added it to an A5 card base, I attached my strip and then stamped a sentiment and punched it out  making a black layer too, I placed it where I had left a space in the stamping.  To finish the card I die cut 3 Moths (i think) from card that I had blended the same colours as the main background. I placed them randomly around the card.

I hope you like my Challenge card, I love the Autumnal shades on this card.

Sending love and hugs to all of you,

Sandra                                                                                xxxxxx

  1. Morning Ladies

Sandra-your Card us absolutely beautiful, it’s gorgeous.. It’s a good idea to treat yourself and look at the fabulous results. I hope you have found your mojo plus a little bit I’d relaxation time too.

Work was ok yesterday. Hoping fir s peaceful, productive day today.

My very good friend had surgery yesterday-Gall bladder removal, she was hoping it was going to be keyhole surgery but as she’s had repeated infections (plus other problems with the Gall bladder) they weren’t hopeful. She hadn’t gone to theatre at midday yesterday and I’ve not heard from her-just hoping everything is ok.

  5. Hi Sandra & ladies
Lovely card yesterday Maria. I had an on the go day yesterday & completely forgot I hadn’t commentated on the blog.
    Lovely autumnal card today Sandra.
What on earth happened to the weather yesterday. I was in summer stuff till late afternoon. After that I had to go and put my thicker long trousers on and a cardigan before I went up to Karen’s. Amy & Matty bought a Chinese in for all of us. As she’d cooked us a roast on Sunday I’d decided I’d pay for that. Livvy left most of hers though. She’s supposed to eat regular meals but doesn’t. She going to end up being sick. She showed me the new shoes she’d bought. A pair with the Simpsons on them. She liked different styles of shoes. She also saw 2 other pairs she liked. So Karen offered to buy one pair for Christmas and I said I’d get the other pair for her.
Keith did my tap for me. So Karen also got him to fix a toilet that’s been leaking at her house. Hopefully he’ll fix the other one today.
Hope the rain holds off today.
Take care everyone and stay safe.

  7. Hi everyone.
Wonderful card Sandra, gorgeous autumnal colours.
Lovely things in the box, so many to choose from.
Had our little outing to Lidl this morning and can just say it was not such a nice experience. Some people had their masks on but not everyone, not even some of the staff and no distant really from many. Got a few items tho and some choc too, well after the night I had I Need It 😒
I wish anyone suffering with pain of any kind have a better day, hopefully some card making can be done today to make us forget for a little while.
Have a nice day everyone. Many hugs to all xx

  9. Hello Sandra and ladies,

I’ve just left a message and when I pressed publish it disappeared, I think it was something to do with blogger but to be truthful I don’t understand.

Sandra I love today’s card you certainly did well when you treated yourself to the Indigo blue box set, It certainly gave you brilliant inspiration.
Love the autumnal shades, in fact I have to say they’re my favourite colours. Many moons ago I went to A colour therapist where they look at your skintone and then suggest the best colours for you to wear, it was great fun. No surprise my colours all came out of the autumnal palette, I was delighted.

This morning John and I went over to Wimbledon, it was nice to get out and a change of scenery (well that’s as good as it gets in suburbia, ha ha) we were home again by lunchtime, so this afternoon I’m taking things very quietly, have organised dinner so that won’t take long to complete.

Sandra, Maria, Lynda and Margaret Hope you’ve all had a pain and stress free day, that message goes to all of our ladies. xxx

Take care everyone, stay safe and look after each other.
    Love Brenda xxx
